How to setup the Aux/Auxilliary input for a Pioneer DEH-P7700MP CD/Tuner (DEH-P4000)

- How to Setup Aux Input for iPhone/MP3 on Pioneer P7700MP - Enabling AUX with IP-Bus Interface Cable. This also works for the DEH-P4000 according to a viewer.

An IP-Bus Interface Cable Cord Adapter lead will allow you to connect into the CD changer socket at the rear of the Pioneer P7700MP and use a 3.5" jack cable to connect an iPhone, iPod or any other source with jack headphone output socket to it.
However when you turn the unit back on after connecting the cable you may find that AUX isn't an option that appears in the menus. You need to press the function button when the unit is off to enable this as shown in the video.

Good vid, worked exactly the same on my vintage deh-p8600mp. Yes its a little complicated to use but has excellent Pioneer sound quality AND it has an AUX provision! I feel just as excited as when I bought this unit right after high school a long loooong time ago lol!

thank you so much been trying to figure this out on the pioneer DEH-P5850MP was getting so annoyed almost threw it away but thank you so much you saved me spending a good $200 on a new head unit

I want to thank you for you video, im the owen of this Pioneer Car system from when it released back in the days! It was sitting in my storage for some years now and the unit i had in my car was not having all these colour option or nice graphical screen.
I will definetely give it a try and connect it with a nice flac/mp3 player and hide it in the self so i can switch it when i want!

Any chance this method would allow the ipod adapter to work? I just reinstalled my deck after several years of storage and the radio recognizes the ipod's connection but no sound capabilities

I have a deh-p710 and it’s complicated since they don’t have a function button what should I do

I can't control the volume now. I can only contorl the volume through my phone and it doesn't sound very loud. anyone know how to fix?
I got a question... when on AUX setting my volume is lower then my radio or cd?
could it be the source that's lower volume? It's not too easy to compare across different sources

I did it this morning, but turns out the aux cord does not work, you can faintly hear the music. Is there an alternative cord that can be used to plug in with the old one or do I need to replace that cord and open up the dash board?

VW & Ford Car Maintenance Servicing Tips yes, I had the volume on high on my phone and made sure the volume levels were on on the radio too, but still nothing. Like I kept moving around the cord and found that if I lean the round part of it back you can faintly hear through music. But if I remove my finger, then no sound.
Sounds like aux lead might be faulty then so definitely worth trying another

So question...How come yours is a DEH-P7700mp model but has two knobs on the front and mine is the same model number but has one knob? Also, blue is my only color choice for illumination. On the back of mine, I have a 3.5mm headphone jack. What's this for? Why can't I use a dual 3.5mm cord for input? I've tried and it doesn't work but why/what does it do? If I have no other options, then I'll be using your advice in the video and getting the IP bus interface cable.
