I just got one. It is my 4th Garmin and I love them. The only thing is I used my last 2 to help me not over do since I have a chronic illness. But this one seems to rate my stress higher all the time than the others would show. I rely on body battery to help with that too and this one never shows it to charge fully! I am not ill so this concerns me. As I think it isn't correct. Any ideas? I have done 2 resets on watch and deleted and Red own loaded the app. What I do like is I can turn off things I don't need to make it easier to see what I need and not have to scroll through everything on the watch face. Nice review.
Hello, smartwatches are not 100% accurate. Garmin and every other manufacturer say they shouldn't be replied upon for tracking medical conditions. But i do think they can be a helpful tool. I can't say if the results you are seeing are accurate or off. If possible, I would wear 2 watches(if you still have some of the 4 mentioned) and compare the results and see if thiers a difference, and compare how you actually feel to the results you are seeing. If your watch is fully updated and restarting didn't help, I'd recommend reaching out to Garmins customer service directly for assistance.
@AbbyBReviewing Thanks for your kind answer. I just kept searching online for anyone else who had this problem. I found someone who said he did and fixed it by a hard reset to the factory. I did that, and it is working fine today. I did the reset before bed and it properly tracked stress and sleep last night.
Thanks for the review. I'm considering this tracker as I currently have the Vivosmart 4 which I'm very happy with but the band is totally broken (and holding with tape right now lol). The 5 is much bigger than the 4 though, and the size was one of the biggest reasons I had gone with the Vivosmart in the first place. Doesn't the 5 feel too big and bulky? I was tempted by the Lily 2 as well but it's just too expensive considering it has pretty much the same functionalities as the Vivosmart 5. Also, I read in an online review someone complaining about the fact that the watch is not secured to the band and it falls off too easily. Do you agree with this or you think it's completely safe and really hard for the watch to fall off the band on its own? (the guy was saying he literally came back from a run with only the band on and the watch was gone.) Thanks!
Hello, I don't find the Vivosmart 5 too big personally. It's quite a small lightweight tracker, but you may disagree as everyone has different preferences for their watch size. I have not had any issues with the bands falling off on any of those watches. If you ensure the strap is done up with the strap loops in place regularly, you shouldn't run into an issue with the band falling off. Also, i don't understand how just the band could stay on his wrist but the watch had fallen off the watch portion is connected to the band so wouldn't the whole thing fall off in that case?🤔
@@AbbyBReviewing Thanks for the quick reply. I think because the watch part snaps in and out of the band, my understanding is that the watch part was not held safely in place and could fall off easily. It sounded strange to me when I read it but I wanted to check because it would be unfortunate if it indeed does not fit safely in place.
I just bought a Vivosmart 5 , and i feel like battery is draning fast , i havent completely checked it out as how long it actually last for a full charge , but i can see its draining fast , wont even last two days , i can say one and half... Anything i can do to improve battery life
Hello, I would suggest making sure it's fully updated, then setting the brightness to low, qnd turning off bluetooth and notifications. If your still exercising issues after I'd recommend reaching out to Garmin directly for assistance.
Would you recommend this to someone elderly? I'm looking for something that will help keep my mom active. She's 69 and in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's so we need something simple that will make her move more.
Hi tinykitteh, this fitness tracker is like medium level difficulty to learn, takes some time to learn/get comfortable with all the different settings and options. Also, the small display here may or may not be problem depending on the elderly person's eye sight. But, for your purposes of just wanting something to make her move, you can set hourly step reminder notifications to go off if she isn't moving enough and that can be a great prompt to get her moving. And she can use it as a watch the remainder of the time, if you don't want to dive into how to use all the functions.
@@AbbyBReviewing but the features of the fitness bands are slowing catching up with smartwatches, so probably in a few years it doesn't matter anymore just depends on whether you prefer a band or watch type I guess.

You bet! And I appreciate you sharing 💜
Great review! Does it require you a bit of effort to push the button?
Thank you 😊. And it does require a little bit of effort to push.
I probably wouldn't really call this a watch. It falls more into the fitness band category for me.
Yes I agree, although I did call it a smartwatch a few times by mistake 😅
