  • Today we look at the maxlites I bought for my 911. These are 16x7 and 16x8. I also compare the Starke Design Fuch Replica wheels as well.

Thanks for the video. I had already bought a set of the 7/8 Maxilites for a second set of tires long before I saw your review. Car came with 6/7 originals. I put winter tires on the originals, summers on the replicas. I have a ‘driver’ quality 85 Carrera. That I drive year round in the northeast. I agree with everything you said. They look fine, perform fine, and anyone who would care what rim you have on your own car can go to heck. I haven’t watched anything else of yours yet. I hope the restoration went great. Cheers

I hear you on the manufacturing of the 60s vs now. I think the main thing to consider is strength per weight, and also the different failure modes between cast and forged. Forged is less likely to crack under stress, where cast will.

I'm not a purist and would run them on my 914 for sure. Thanks for this video!

I think as long as someone isn’t doing a museum restoration... these will fit the bill!!

Hey, I have a set of 6" and 7" genuine fuchs in a polished finish that I would sell if you're interested. No center caps. They are in pristine condition, I just don't need them anymore. I'm running 7 and 8s on my 85.

Is your '77 a 911s or a Turbo? Asking b/c I have a '77 911s and curious if the 16x7 front and 16x8 rear would work like what you have. Also what size tires did you go with?

Did you ever put the Stark wheels on?

No, I decided to pass them on to someone else and replaced them with another set of 16x7-16x8

@@thedriverscorner ST will give you a tad bit more clearance, if you lower it but RS is not as wide an fits an 8inch rim better. Just depends on how low you go up front and tire sidewall size. Have you bolted the Fuchs on up front and see where they sit?
