    Nice upgrade, I absolutely love my Victron 100/50. I would love to see the History log of what your system is producing after it's been running for a while. I've been debating going to 24v on my system to maximize output and finally connect the full 800 watts of panels, but I don't have enough need until I have some more electrical load for the system. Hoping to find the time to remodel for a spot for one of those LG fridges in my camper. The aging propane fridge uses close to 10 pounds of propane a week during the summer, and I really like the idea of running all my needs on sunlight.

      Thank you, it's been a real fun project, and after today being the first full day using the 100/30, I love it too! I also have thought about going 24v , and it's been recommended to me by many. Maybe someday, but I'm cruising so good on 12v , and happy it meets my needs, and then some. The LG refrigerator has changed life here. 20 cu. ft. was once unthinkable off grid, and we all went propane back in the day when solar was so expensive. It barely touches my main bank. It's so efficient. Mahalo for being part of the conversation here...aloha 🤙

    i also use the 75/15 but i use it on 2 12v 200 ah batteries in series at 24v , At 24v it can handle 400 watts no problem . i believe it will do around 440 watts at the 15 amp limit output . I would love to have that 100/30 ! good stuff man! thanks for making the videos , its always fun to see how other people are building their systems .

      Hey thanks for tuning in and sharing that information . I'm tying that 75/15 into another system already . I'm loving the 100/30 too! First full day using it and all systems are full. aloha 🤙

    That working great . The MPPT tracking is fast on Victron . and the app updates fast as well . when series connected panels watch that open circuit voltage so no to exceed the controller. you can even do a quick test with you meter right on disconnect PV side with breaker off . also that higher voltage can shock you good. and also make Shure the wire can handle the voltage . I have UL listed 600V wire . also you can add surge suppressor to PV input. Midnight solar and others make them .Get the one for your open circuit voltage. a earth ground is a must on them for lightning protection. Mine have blue led on them. I have ferrite cores snap on type on my PV leads for EMP and RFI /EMI filtering . I have big panels 320 watt each .2300 watt total with 2 strings of 5 into 2 MPPT controllers. my 2 strings are different panels different voltage/amps had to use 2 MPPT . into 24V . have wind gen as well . ran AC window 7200 BTU just fine . it is energy star type. just got that this year. my 6250 BTU is 3 years old and on outher side of my home, my inverter runes them both but nothing else. I got switches to split my loads up. I have back up inverter incase one fails . never has. have smaller on on 12V system. that windy nation 1500 watt 12V . the 24V inverter is 2KW/4KW surge. it is best to have extra for them cloudy days. fall winter months I got lots of wind . summer muggy days need AC and little wind unless storm . looking out for my girlfriends heath. take care and have fun ! each system will be different .

      I love hearing about others systems, and your system sounds amazing, and as usual my friend, I'm taking notes! I'm going to look at those Midnight solar suppressors. I want as much protection from lightning as possible. Got a friend out here who everytime lightning is close to him he loses his Outback cc. So much yet to do, but continues to grow. Mahalo as always for always helping me along out here...aloha 🤙

    Nice vid victron is top gear, don't waste your 75/15 add a couple of panels to it ,the 100/30 will talk to the 75/15 and will add the 2 together. I have a victron 100/20 and a 75/15 .The 75/15 has 2 panels hooked up in parallel, and the 100/20 has 3 panels hooked up, I intend to purchase a few more panels.

    Bought two 230ah 12v to make 460 24v battery.For my RV so 100/30’ will be good for 1280 watts,74v 17 amp.That’s four 320 watt panels.They would be 150v wired the other way.Taking baby steps my friend n figuring this solar stuff out step at a time.
    How yah doin?

    On the 75/15 you could do 4 panels 2 sets of 2 in series and parallel it says on the paperwork if it if you have more power than it's rated to put out it will limit it. it's in series up to 75 volts short circuit and up to 15 amps short circuit in parallel so 400 watts that would be limited to 220 watts

    • @English-qe7bw
      @English-qe7bw 2 года назад +1

      Which would mean you'd get more hours of full output you could do 3 in series and a second set of 3 in parallel on that making 600 watts but at full out put 220 watts. So if it's about 1/3 perfect sun you'd still be getting about the full 220 watts. it's built to handle that

    From what I heard, one must be careful when connecting more than 3 panels in parallel because if one panel fails, the other panels will dump their load into the defective panel and cause a fire. The panel connectors are rated for 20 amps. So, three panels dumping their load into one will probably melt the connectors and may cause a fire. This can be avoided by fusing each panel.
    Yes, the Queen deserves the best.

      @ProjectsinParadise808  2 года назад +1

      I have them in series, but may have misspoke...wouldn't be the first time! But, I definitely take your point, and more fuses is on my list. So much to do yet, but having good time and learning more everyday. Already building another system...might need an intervention one day. Man this stuff is addictive! aloha bud🤙

    How much solar power you can get from that Victron 100V 30A controller? I’m thinking get one too, but I want 800w solar panel ( 4x200w panel). Can this controller do that?

    I have the victron 100/50 with few 100w panels (getting few more) setting it up with power queen 100ah (getting atleast one more), I need advice I'm trying to set up my charger controller and see the lifep04 quick setting but I'm trying to use the advanced settings feature because power queen recommended higher float and a few other things a little off. Did you ever try fine tuning your charge controller settings because I'm having trouble finding tail current settings for power queen along with pretty much every other advanced feature recommended setting besides the bulk and float adjustment in the manual

    Hi what part of the world are you from so I can work out weather differences to see how many panels I might need. How do you find it works in winter? I am from the UK so quite far north.

    I would have thought that as long as you don't exceed the rated pv input voltage it should be fine especially been a victron it should be able to charge at its rated 15amps all day every day
