“Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark!” - Malaysian KL-YES Student Exchange Experience, Vlog #4

On the turn of 2018, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to the United States of America on the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study program. I’ll be spending half a year in North Carolina living with a host family and attending high school just like any other American teenager.
The KL-YES program is a scholarship program offered to students from Muslim majority countries after the tragedy of 9/11. These students will spend up to one academic year in the United States where they will serve as unofficial ambassadors of their country while relieving tensions and improving cultural understanding.

This year, I am privileged to be one of 39 Malaysians who embarked on this trip of a lifetime. Most of us have never travelled this far away from home for such prolonged periods of time, yet it’s been a great honor and enjoyment working with these absolutely incredible people!
I made the decision to vlog this experience so more people here in the US and back home are able enjoy what I enjoyed here. I will compile them into weekly videos. This week, I spent a lot of time cooking and visited the Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark along with other exchange students for a time of splashy fun and cultural activities/discussions!
