They stunk so bad it almost made us kids puke. Then, of course, smokers would dump their cigarette ashes on the carpet instead of in an ashtray and say it was good for the carpet! The streets and parks and everywhere were littered with millions of discarded cigarette butts because smokers had no etiquette for their smoker waste and just threw the buts on the ground. I started dating when people still smoked. After kissing one girl who smoked, I vowed NEVER EVER to date a smoker ever again. Good riddance to this filthy addiction.

Heard later ('85 or '86) that the "Micronite Filter" was really asbestos. Put a damper on that campaign, but took decades to find out.

My father died cause of a cancer of laringe, he used to smoke Chesterfield and Lucky no-filter in seventies (40 per day). My mother - remember - used to smoke EVE, a skiny and long cigarrete wich she take off of a kind of money bag but designed specialyl for those long cigarretes I mentioned. Do not smoke more than 5 cigarretes a day, ideal just 2, and weekend may be more, but not over 7 cigarretes. kisses and take care of your lifes!

It may look cool but the health issues my mum has from smoking outweighs the coolness. I started smoking about 3 months ago and I regret it deeply. It started with a cigarette now and then around friends while drinking and now I'm smoking about 5 a day and I can easily see myself smoking more. My breathing feels shittier and I stink of smoke. I have to keep going outside (even in shitty weather) to have a smoke whenever I'm out with friends and you don't look cool at all standing outside on your own like a loser in the pouring rain as your friends are indoors having fun. It's not good. Yeah it looks cool but it's not cool enough for you to risk your lungs.

I started smoking weed before cigarettes, with tobacco in. But when I was smoking weed daily and stopped, I found myself addicted to tobacco smoking about 5 a day but then it went up to 20... Now, I smoke anywhere between 2 or 3 and 30 a day, more often than not it's in the region of around 9 a day. I've been smoking now for a few years, only about 5 years all together and I really do feel the toll it's taken on my body, my lungs especially... I've quit once for 3 weeks and the improvement to my health was dramatic in that timeframe. Just wish I could find the willpower to quit again but I have so much going on that's stressful, it's hard to find that space to calm down and plan how I will quit and relieve tension. Ironically, smoking physically stresses you out more.

I've been off ciggies for a year, but I've always loved them. The spent cigarette smell is my favourite, idk maybe I'm crazy. I love a car or a house that smells like spent tobacco.

@@jinitsangani6957 I personally moved on to vaping, then quit all together. I also use to drink a lot of sodas too, switched to seltzer water, and then finally quit.
Try to find things that are less harmful but satisfy your urge till you're able to slow down and stop.

Oh,these are great. Most of "Lorillard's" main brands back then. Too bad this Newport Pack was changed in '69..with the "hint of mint" removed too..and 3 times the amount of nicotine added.. Newport was forever ruined. Kent is almost extinct now.sans the :Micronite Filter"..and York's demise came in '66. *Very Nice Compilation*. Thank You!!

I cant believe back in the 60's how they used to advertise smoking. as if it was good for you!! no wonder why so many people died from it. they always showed young good looking people, without a care in the world. all the tobacco companies cared about is the money they would make!!!
