Philips Hue held a Digital Event yesterday and announced a slew of new products and Hue app updates. They have officially unveiled the Gradient Signe Lamp, Gradient Light Tube, Gradient Lightstrip, brighter bulbs and more! They will also introduce Dynamic Scenes and a Spotify integration into their app. I've got release dates and prices for you - you don't want to miss it!

A direct comparison of the light output from 800, 1100, and 1600 bulbs in different spaces would be a great video.
Br30 has less lumen but produces more light in my recessed lights

It's a love hate. I love that there's going to be a new update for the current sync box. But we honestly need a hardware revision for hdmi 2.1
I'm waiting for the HDMI 2.1 sync box but it isn't coming this year.
Is there any news on when it is coming? I’ve not heard anything about it. Im at the point where im tempted to finally buy the sync box but if theres a chance for a hdmi 2.1 version soon, i might wait.
@@Mahoosive_ Yea haven't heard anything yet. I hope something soon because I wanted to hook this up with my PS5 to get that extra experience. But I'm not going to give up on the 2.1 features just for that though. For now my Blu-ray and firecube are the only devices I got hooked up to it.

Those rectangular ones have been out for years now, but only "white ambience" not colour. Have 2 in the garage, they do the job but like with everything Hue they could be a bit brighter.
I hope they will FINALLY fix the constant crashes from the Philips hue HDMI sync

Get outdoor garden lights and adjust their colours if you have a garden for a Christmas effect. Just an idea. 👍

I’m so excited for updates to the hue play sync box - I have a 15 year old tv with only one hdmi port and its enabled me to kit my house with basic hue lights instead of forking out for a tv. Interested in the light strips too! Saving up for something like that

It’s so hard to get excited for certain products when it comes to the price. I love Hue products and have bulbs strips and the play gradient strip for the movies. I would love to expand on making my place look great, but would need to wait. I am looking forward to doing more with the lights I have.
I just wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales as well as Amazon Prime day. Depending upon what you're actually looking for you may be able to find some of the earlier generation Hue bulbs etc at a great discount. You just have to dig deep sometimes to find those good deals. No doubt Hue stuff is nice but it's also very pricey.

Try Govee, they knocked off a ton of Hue products. Get them now before Phillips litigates them into oblivion.
Hue need to allow multi bridge support, seriously lacking for those of us with larger homes and have amassed a good amount of devices
i thought each bulb communicates with eachother so aslong as u have a row of bulbs its ok?
@@ffdfdfdfdfdfdfdf The hub still only allows for 50 max devices. Sadly, things like switches that have 4 buttons count as 4 devices. It’s easy to fill a bridge.

Why I was so excited for Dynamic Scenes: to have my Arctic Aurora lights come to life! The cycle speed is too slow for this effect, so my asks to Philips would be to 1) allow for a global light cycle time adjustment and then 2) customizing at the scene level, so I can speed up my Artic Aurora only.
Cycle time adjustment for speed will come in a future update! :)
I've gotten Hue Lights today (starter kit with the bridge and 2 bars for behind my monitor) except I'm having issues with the app. The installation of the bridge is taking forever, tried restarting the installation but that didn't work. I hope they update it soon so I can start using it.
The bluetooth app worked, so I can at least use my bulbs to a certain extend, really nice :)
I love your videos!! Please review the new recessed ceiling lights! Newer homes don’t support the existing retrofit models. They support flush Disk lights. I hope the new models work for me! 🤞🏽

How would it even be possible to update the sync box via software for the newer spec? It simply does not have the bandwidth to accommodate it.

Hue fan here, great video. Not sure what region you’re in but it seems like a lot of the new products you mention are only showing up on the UK website. Bummer. It’s like the US/CAN gets all the left over, hand me downs from EU lol. 30 pages of products vs 10. Don’t know why it’s so hard for them to support a larger voltage range (110-240) for more of their products. I’d be throwing more money at them. The UK/EU website has some really beautiful Hue stuff.

Ok so interestingly enough… I just recently installed three Hue Discovers on my high up on my rear deck a couple months ago ordered from Amazon. Today, I went to look at the boxes for dimensions to see if it will fit in a fourth location. As I’m looking at the boxes, I notice something peculiar. One of them is different from the other two. Further investigation would show that one of those Discovers has UK/EU specs. It says: 2 x 15W (30W) 220-240V 50/60Hz. The other two boxes say: 40W 100-120Vac 50/60Hz. The good part is, I would’ve never known if I hadn’t looked at the box. In other words, the EU/UK spec Discover is working just fine on my US Mains power at 120Vac!

Definitely interested in the tube. How is the gradient light strip different than the one for the tv?
The TV strip is designed in a way to be mounted to a tv and shine at an angle to hit the wall. it also comes with brackets to help adhere to the tv.
As someone with lower ceilings in my house that rectangle light and the new recessed lights look legit! Trying to figure out if I should grab the 1100 lumen color bulbs now or wait til October for the 1600 ones..
ahh nevermind... i see that they don't offer the rectangle ceiling light on the us website :(
Looking forward to the brighter bulbs. Not quite sure whether to get the 1100 or 1600. Anyway, even 1100 is a huge step up from 810. I think it might be tough for Lifx to compete since their main benefit (for me) was their brightness, but they always suffered from pretty serious disconnection problems.
I purchased some of the 1600 white bulbs and they are fantastic. I would definitely go with the brighter ones. Worst case scenario you can just dim them.

You'll probably have to get a new box for 4k/120, depending on the HDMI revision of the box itself.
Some of these new products seem very pricey for the UK, but they'll probably come down a bit over time/sales. I have to say, the support is great though - I finally got around to using my light strips and the whine from the power supplies was unbearable. One tweet later, they've sent me new power supplies and everything works great!
U mean I gotta buy the gradient light strip??? U would think a lil programming in the update would allow my old strip to “gradiate”.
will they also support the Ikea Tradfi color? as they are supported with everything in the Heu app. but unfortunately not for the entertainment rooms so i cannot use them with spotify.
I most exciting for the Gradient Light Tube. I hope that's the first one you review because I was going to buy 3 LED Bar Lights on to put on the bottom of the my TV. The Gradient Light Tube will be a game changer.

Will the gradient strip work with the sync box so I can go around my wall mounted tv?
That is a great question. I dont know the answer...my *guess* is that you won't be able to configure it to go around the back of the TV.
How do you stop the Hue lights from banding/flickering on video?
I am interested in the Gradient light tube for the tv. Is it for the missing part of the Gradient Tv strip ?
It can definitely fill that space and is want for that area. That's where I will try it out myself.
Guys, why don't i get the play button for hue dynamics?
Al my products are up to date, i have 10 ambiance color products, checked the update section also up to date. But nothing works.
It is just not showing in hue scenes

Disappointed that no new brighter GU10 bulbs, the GU10 are not that bright , they so need to be brighter. Missed opertunity.
I love my sync box, but sadly i must remove it from my system cause I’m upgrading to hdmi 2.1 gaming with Neo Qled and Xbos series X. I had hopes for a new 2.1 box, that’s why I’m here. But these news are pretty disappointing tbh… 1080p@120hz?! Dafaq man, that was cool in the 90s😎 but we have 2021, i need 4k@120hz Vrr, freesync premium pro, that’s the Cool stuff today, but not 1080p😂
I’m looking to buy the sync box for some time now. But if it hasn’t got these specs I’m skipping it. 250 euro for a mediocre specs box is not worth my money.
Consider that the Xbox if perfecrly capable of 1440p 120hz and that the highest quality of the rendered games comes at 2160p 60hz
Why is my hue sync app not working with netflix and Disney + on PC? 🤔?
You can already sync music with the official app for windows.
The sync box will need a new version if they want 120hz at 4k, hdmi 2.0 does not have the bandwidth. They will need to have a hdmi 2.1 port on the box for that to happen, and that's new hardware.
funny thing is if they priced the sync box (current or future 2.1 model) at 1/2 the current price. they would sell 5 times as many sync boxes.I love my HUE set up but Philips be trippin on price .

No, it isn’t necessary to have the philips sync box. I have in my house only Philips light bulbs and the hue bridge and they sync with Spotify perfectly, you don’t need the sync box for them to work together with Spotify ☺️
Unfortunately I use mostly Apple’s Music I sincerely hope they make a partnership with Apple! 🥲

They need a new box you can’t make 2.0 ports do 4K 120 with that limitation. Also fix the crashes and blackouts when doing the chroma subsampling a tv is capable of and not having to downgrade it just so the box won’t black out

You dont need the 1600 ones 1000 is the reference for indoor entertainment so the ones you got are perfect for an accurate sync with your content.
Hi. I live in France, on the hue website I can see the ceiling light "enrave" but I see the "devere" on your video they look like the same, there are differences ?
Any idea when these will actually show up in Canada? Other than the standard bulbs almost every hue product is sold out and unavailable.

OMG! Please review the signe lamps, Ive got such a story about trying to but a pair once they were out of stock.. settled for a table lamp instead of the two floor lamps that i wanted.. long story short had paid 1600 for a set and was disappointed when i was refunded after several months because they could not get them.. so please review and confirm for me that 1600 was well worth it..if i could have gotten them.. wife to this day does not see it my way.

Unfortunately don't think HDMI Sync box will ever be able to support 120Hz/4K as its limited by its HDMI ports... I personally own two HDMI sync boxes and have gone thru all kind of testing with Signify support to address this matter. Hope to be proved wrong by Hue! :)
Trueeeee I didn't even think about that....yea they still aren't HDMI 2.1....so may be impossible. They will ultimately need to make a new Sync Box I guess..
When talking to them did you ever mentioned the constant reboot/crash ? Changed cables and different way to connect it and still getting crash middle of a movie and it’s really annoying.

I've got to assume it will, with most smart homes using Sonos these days...From trying it out, it seems to connect directly through the Spotify app...not sure if its possible to get between Sonos and Spotify, but I sure hope so!
To be honest i havent even gotten that far i have the gradient light for the tv, bridge, and sync box. So the bridge connected to my network fine light strip connected to the bridge and app just fine tv sync box will not connect to network kinda frustrating. Any solutions or ideas?
A major issue would be the unrealistic price bar that Philips sets. The products seem great but are priced way too high. When buying it in a country where it’s not as accessible such as South Africa…. Due to cost, it’s even more ridiculous. These products are awesome but when 2 or even 1 bulb is a quarter of the average minimum wage in the country….. it’s not going to be purchased.

To my knowledge, no. Not yet at least...
Just saw the latest video of @SmartHomeSolver and it looks like the new 1100 lumen only works with the white colors and the RGB still the same brightness and the low lvl of color saturation... i would love to update mines if they'd have better saturation and brightness on the colors... still waiting for your review!
Just got the new Gradient Lightstrip, the sync doesn't work and Philips said they are working on fixing it.
Great buying a new product for them to not work, i feel like I bought an early access game lol

Dynamic scenes look cool but are sloooooowwwww and there aren't effects like what you get with Govee
So Hue will support Matter instead of Thread? Or is it the same thing? (If they aren’t, which one you prefer and why?)
As I understand it, parts of thread get integrated in matter. So it should be compatible or even more or less the same. So matter is a new multi company standard and thread is then apples implementation of that.

Not quite sure why you say that only 4 scenes are dynamic? Or did I misunderstand? I have loads of dynamic scenes. You just need to add them to your gallery…
Yes, I noticed this too. Every scene that I add to my gallery appears to have the "play" triangle to start dynamic mode.

You need to download 4.4 Update. I did, but I still dont see the changes - Hue may still need to activate on their end.

For me it works fine on the 4.4 update.And it works on all Hue scenes for example Soho,Honolulu,Tropical Twilight etc.Im from Europe.
