Just discovered your RUclips site, wow what a nostalgia trip with Mr O’Donovan’s collection, especially the Scammell Routeman and the Leyland’s. I started work for St Albans Sand & Gravel in 1979 and my first truck was a Leyland Bison, then I progressed to a Routeman and finally a Constructor. By the way the guy with the Constructor in Hertford I know very well. Thanks for the memories.
Great giveaway for the younger generation, lovely old constructor i'm sure Michael will weave his magic. Make sure the Snowflakes are not around when using the pillar drill. Keep up the good work Kurt
Great idea getting the kids some hands on. They certainly could benefit greatly from using their hands for something other than the phone. 👍 When i was young, I couldn't resist taking something apart to see and learn how it worked (much to the chagrin of my parents...lol) and now I can fix pretty much anything. Keep up the good work, Lord Muck! 🚛🚜
Another brilliant week Mucker . Love the Leyland was lucky enough to be able to drive a couple back in the early 80s. Nice looking 8210 down Mr Saunders way for sale.
Good evening me lord, well you have done it again one more great video I look forward to the Christmas Competition , well see you on the next one. take care of yourself and stay safe.👍👍⭐️
Great video mucker it is great that you are trying to inspire my generation and get them involved I bought my project tractor at age 14 I am now 16 and watching your videos has inspired me to fix her up and one day get her back working
Phew bang on👍that Leyland was a lucky find it's a minter going to look so good with a bit of a refresh✌now where did I leave that Chieftain there a real treat to rip around in👌Joe as definitely got a great selection to pick from 😅😆😅 🍻
Corrrrr, that's a lovely example of a Leyland truck 👌 great competition you got planned for the youngsters to win those tools. And thanks for the heads up on the competition around Xmas time. All the best M'lod!
Evening mucka what a brilliant video especially the Leyland proper old school which a certain few of us can remember 😀 he's certainly found a little gem there👌👍
that great on the tool kit. hard enough to get some teaching and learning let alone some tools to show you mean buisness. that will be awsome to get some chap out with you finally. great vid. cheers.
The Leyland is nice. I drove a blue 30-30 feed lorry with a blower in Devon. What a great truck. Turned like a 6 wheeler for an 8 legger. Royce Perkins pulled well...
That Leyland Constructor is some truck 265 Rolls in her would love it if you could graft one daily still this LEZ putting pain too that! Great content new subscriber!
Busy busy again Mucker !! I’m sure that’s an approved upgrade to any culvert tge wrapped wriggly tin 😂 Both competitions sound great always good to get the next generation out into the workshops and sheds tinkering ! Great of Doe’s to donate such a comprehensive prize ! Do well 👍👍
Yeah noticed the springs missing, beams on bottom of rear axle along with the earlier Hub Reductions. They change the Hub Reductions around 88 so could possibly have had either on. We changed a complete back end out on one to Rubber suspension with axles fitted after the later type Hub Reduction failed, locked up and twisted the splines on axle end.
Omg, now that Tonka Dozer, I was looking at the very same in an Antiques place over in Florida, I very nearly purchased it, but refrained due to no room in the luggage ☹️
Good one sir. Glad to see folk keen to get youngsters into mechanics etc also glad your pushing it to as you have a great lot of New starts 😀 following you. Hope there's plenty old school mechanics out there to teach them though there's getting to many technicians/fitters now who only do or believe what the computer says 🤔 🙄 😆. Top end tools don't make you a great mechanic 😉🤣. Stay safe 🏴
er lord muck if i put my grandsons school uniform on cud i enter the tool comp ???? no seriesly i think its a great idea of yours to get youngsters oily and fixing things

we had one of those leyland, same age, on the farm, had a drop side grain body on the back ,was great as a kid sat in the passenger side of to the depot at diss after loading up from our silo ,which took bloody ages with a 6” auger mind 😆😆😆
I commended you Mucka n New Holland with offering big ass tool set👍I have encouraged my work colleagues to build tool set, plumbing, fencing with PPE gear for using on the farm. To get them started I made base list n made fencing key with name on it, for me time is money n I like doing my work professionally, been proud of jobs I do. Can’t wait to see young crew projects n what inspires them n their future career they want to do.
Tilcon colours of that era was red grey and blue! Used too work on a few owner driver Constructors as a kid not done anything other than cars light commercials etc since about 14 years old! My pal who repaired the HGV Stoped repairing them when Tarmac bought Tilcon out and made all owner drivers by new trucks!
Ooh, I like that idea of wrapping a bit of roofing sheet round a pipe. I've been trying to figure out a cheapskate way of putting a culvert in a ditch, and I think you've solved it for me!!
Any progress on O Donavan's 951 ? Back up on mine Saturday to fit more parts . We need to get the younger ones interested as they are the future. Most clubs have members over 50 now
makes me wish I was 18 again ( a top box of tools , I started with a 5tray cantilever box but I worked my way up ro a britool top box and lower cab , come on all you youngsters get your note in
I’ll tell you what I haven’t seen for ages is foden trucks im surprised that mr o’donovon hasn’t got one. I used to leave near some army test tracks many years ago and seeing the big old foden recovery trucks hurtling about
Good stuff melod. I remember those Leyland trucks. And the Leyland Clydesdale milk tankers of the MMB before them and as a kid, the Ford D Series flat bed trucks that picked up milk churns at the end of dairy farm tracks. You could hear them coming because of the rattling chains and empty churns. How old am l? Too fecking old! Top regards.
I listened to a bloody good podcast with you in it chief think it was called trade legends. talking of podcasts when are you and George doing another. ?
Those T45 cabs love to rot the front cab mounts, my old Roadtrain had a bit of a list to one side thanks to tin worm eating the front mounts. A lovely Jamaican chap bought it from me and exported it to Africa. Got 3x what I was offered by anyone in the UK. 🤣
Hello mucker, discovered your channel recently and probably seen 10-20 of your videos so far. It's great seeing some of the projects you've done but as somebody with very limited space and an interest in learning mechanics/restoration, is there anything you could suggest having a tinker with? I'm in a normal semi detached house and my sheds already full with a motorcycle and other bits. Tractors/dozers/cars would be great but I simply don't have the space at home. Do well.
Another great vid and good to see Kim 👍hi kurt I watch fitter Matt also and joe hewes , who does own all that military stuff as fitter Matt seem to have the say ?
You ought to be let loose behind the scenes at the REME Museum overflow collection, I may happen to know the director of the museum and the overflow curator……

Another great video Mucker still got good content keep um coming 👍🚜
Great episode 👍
Loved the Constructor, served my apprenticeship working on them.
Looked like it has had a rear suspension modification.
Yes it had various modifications (as did most trucks back in the day) to keep them rolling and up to date with regulations or customer demands
Atlas Aggregates had a similar issue if I remember
Mucker that was a really nice original constructor 8 takes me back to when I was an apprentice 😂
Super Leyland Constructor in great order
Can't wait to see the tank video. How about clay shooting with a tank?. Now that would be something to see. Keep it up Mucker. Great videos.
I struggle with a shotgun let alone a tank...
Great as ever, can't wait for the Christmas competition ✌
