new coffee house in mysore, café, sapa sourdough and pastry, bakery, gokulam, chocolate tart, cheesecake, tea cake, flat white coffee, wheelchair accessible
On a recent trip to Mysuru, I ventured into this cafe that in a short span of time seems to have charmed denizens of this city of palaces with its refreshing vibe, scrumptious bakes and delectable pastries. Hope you enjoy this short video of my tryst with SAPA Sourdough & Pastry, where I gave my heart to a decadent salted caramel chocolate tart! Take care, stay safe and happy eating!
Chocolate Chip Tea Cake
Buttery and gooey with the chocolate chip, this is the sort of cake that could potentially make for a great accompaniment to the coffee. I found it a bit crumbly though.
Rs. 110 (usd 1.5)

Oat Crumble & Vanilla Sour Cream Cheesecake
A rich cheesecake with a slightly sour twang that is balanced by an oat crumble crust. With its delicate whiff of vanilla, this makes for an enjoyable cheesecake.
Rs. 160 (usd 2.2)

Chocolate Tart
A must-try dessert here, layers of dark chocolate and salted caramel ensconced in a ‘biscuity’ chocolate tart shell, topped with pistachio crumb.
Rs. 160 (usd 2.2)

Coffee

My question is sir why did blur that boy sir
Hi Kripal You may want to try SPR Veggie Restaurant in Mysore. Whenever I am in Mysore I frequent this place. Thanks
Actually Kripal sir didn't need to say anything or give a rating , his smile after the bite with his closed eyes says it all 😂
Exactly....❤️
Kripal, you're not just narrating stories here. You're changing lives. Amidst all the shitty routine, stress and anxiety we all have, your video is just not a vlog it is a diversion for us from all the things that are negative. More power to you man!
Appreciate your kind words, Thejas. Thank you.🙏
Sup dhar mann
Kripal sir spoiled a lot of dates with his camera, who were trying to hide from their parents.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤭🤭🤭
😂😂
The price seems ridiculously high. It is even cheaper here in Europe even after currency conversion.
I dont think so..... 😅
Huge fan of sourdough cooking, very healthy and ancient technique
Mr Kripal this show not only focusses on food but on life skills and soft skills. The impact you have on viewers is great, may it be the table manners, the subtle acknowledgment to your fans without being overwhelmed, holding open a door for someone and so much more. Keep inspiring us.
Love going there when we visit Mysore
Wow amazing 🤩
We loved to watch ur videos and way of expression.
All the best 👏👏👏
I love u sir such good presentation about restaurants and they way u eat amazing sir 😍
Yeah it sure is a classic treat, embodied with a classic presenter
Beautiful Cafe´....Thank you!!!
A very good gesture when Kripal Sir himself went and picked up caramel tart dish and did not complain about not being served at his table , when initially at first the Barista delivered it to table.
A very small thing but speaks volumes about Kripal Sir.
That dessert looks delicious 😋 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
Hi I'm from Iceland 👍
Bakery bakery my sweet tooth is sinking into this hard crust tasty pastry ❤️
Kripal sir your video always make my diet day into a cheat day.
You are right, Kripal. Same experience in such cafes. Coffee is served lukewarm which is disappointing. To such extent that I thought street vendors know it better 😁
A very nice Patisserie.
Your etiquette 💫💫
🌻
The beesting dessert is originally a traditional German pastry called Bienenstich...never have i ever seen it in any pastry shop in India before! Delighted! Thanks for covering this...on our list for the next visit!
Can't agree more. Although it's actually 'Bee Sting cake'. In Germany the base is made of Yeast, so its more like Sweet sandwich topped with caramelized almond slices. In cakes we use eggs and baking powder as a Levening agent. It's actually very easy to bake at home.
Kripal ji making negitive mind set to positive with lots of cofee and ❤️👍
I like all your videos sir.. especially andhra food 😊😊 keep rocking 👍👍love from USA
Awesomeeee
Lovely 👍
Waooo , jordaaat👍👍👍👍
Hello kripal sir,
You are one of the greatest food explorer of youtube.
Please do shawarma trials in Bangalore
Hello we visited this cafe also from Coimbatore…most happening place in Mysuru. Me and my kids enjoyed a lot..amazing desserts
Dear Kripal,
Glad you enjoyed the caramel tart and the cheesecake. The chefs in our kitchen put their heart and soul into making every single layer.
Regarding the coffee, this is the temperature (50-55°C) we serve a flat white at. Although we do cater to personal tastes, 'upon requests'.
Thanks for the review. It was really helpful and we will make sure we pass information and ask for personal requests. Hope to serve you soon :)
Hi Shravan,
Yes, I enjoyed the tart and the cheesecake too. As for the coffee, the temperature would have been perfect had it been brewed and served immediately. As mentioned in the video, the barista brewed the coffee and then went on to ring up the order, assemble the desserts on the tray, whilst the coffee sat in an air conditioned environment. Thereby resulting in its sub-optimal temperature when finally tasted.
Cheers!
I have seen a lot of people have this expectation. Specially in India where the trend is to enjoy scalding hot coffees where the milk is boiled and then added to the decoction. That serves well for Instant coffees/Filter coffees. Third wave coffee is all about highlighting the profile and flavour of the coffee and for that the milk has to be heated below 70C so that it's proteins do not get denatured which might lend it that typical hot milk taste which ultimately overpowers the coffee. That's just my two cents. It's a case of misplaced expectations, which probably need to be addressed while placing the order as many customers are not aware of such nuances.
Excellent video 👌
लय भारी !
Looks like a nice cafe
The girl in the other table is more interested in kripal than her bf😂
And the editor did such a bad job covering their faces. More than half of the times they covered their beard and hair rather than faces lol. It must be a hard job doing this, or else it's really not a good job by the editor. It irks me so much that I could not concentrate on what Kripal was saying.
I would be a very grumpy customer if my coffee ☕️ wasn’t hot .
Kripal You are spot on to say one should know the sequence of order, Your honesty seals this great food 🥘 review .
That chocolate tea cake 🧁 seemed like a disaster too, dry & not nice and moist .
I totally agree! There's no disappointment like getting your coffee served lukewarm 😑
Mysore has new pleasures to explore, time to revisit v.v mohala
A great cup of coffee with some of desserts is always the worthwhile.
When you will be in Pune please do check out Café Peter Baner, Pune once for sure you will love it for sure. 👍🏾
7.25 true choco lover !!
From Germany ☺️ Similar to cakes available here ...Beesting 🐝 ist Bienenstich kuchen...very popular here 👍
As you enjoy food we enjoy,,
Looks like you are in Mysore 😊, Subbana Mess in melukote is a must try, please do visit.
that prashanth dude is so sweet
I totally understand your frustration in getting served a lukewarm coffee. A coffee served cold can spoil my mood immediately 😀
However after experiencing this disappointment multiple times, I make it a point specifically tell the waiter to bring the coffee extra hot. (Sometimes even for filter coffees😃)
I wish I could try it
Kripal ji super❤️
Sir please do come to Maharashtra to explore food. Specially in Pune
Kripal sir, please do visit food box corner at chamundipuram at mysore. It will surely be worth your time.

Hi sri super food
Nice
I like my coffee steamy scalding hot. I always ask for extra hot. I have no qualms about going back and asking the Barista to make another one for me extra hot and fresh.
It's "Bee sting cake" not Beesting.
In German it's called "Bienenstich"
Hey, are you Mr. Shantaraj's daughter?
@@HangoutwithAruna Sorry dear. I am not..probably you've mistaken..

Sir u should come to davanagere
Thats a nice video.. You could have suggested your temperature preference before ordering or probably if that really put you down, u sldve returned back to get that coffee to piping hot temperature
Hi Ajay, the coffee would have been served hot had it been prepped after ringing up the order as mentioned in the video. Reheating coffee isn't advisable as it scalds the coffee and affects flavour. Cheers
Kripalll sir I am searching you in Mysore.can you meet-up in mahesh Prasad hotle😭😭 big fan🙏❤️
Desserts always make way into tummies 😄
Loved the video ❣️
Pls. visit Amandé Patisserie sir..:)
Yes. My favourite too.
'Sequence of service' is the key takeaway from the video!
In google it says gokulam
Sadly my father is not a govt servant nor I....
ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರ ಕಾಫಿ ಅಂಗಡಿ 🤟
You should have asked for another coffee or the same coffee to be reheated. Would have been good to see the barista’s reaction.
Amanna, order - extran hot coffeee
Looks like SAPA had a really off day as far as service is concerned.
Sir I m big fan of you and your command on english sir pls tell me how to speak english fluently like you
Has Edelweiss Cafe been renamed SAPA Bakery?
No..Edelweiss shut shop long time back...SAPA is a new one
3:16 paying would get u a heavy cup🤣🤭
Try Minimal coffee next time! Also donuts at sapa bakery.
"Just wish that coffee was hot" 💔
Why are you blurring the crowd?
is there egg-less option ?? good that you tried to mask people around
The chocolate tart was eggless.
@@FoodLoversTV thank you for replying, will try to visit this weekend

hii kripal sir come to andaman
Even editor tried hard to blur their face but I saw their faCe😅😅 as usual nice video I am writing a mail to RUclips to remove dislike button from ur channel
Your videos are great. However, considering that it has been so long, don't you think it's time to up the production quality of videos, particularly the stabilization of your videos. It would be great to see your videos and cameraman use some stabilizer so that the videos are not so shaky.
Bonda guy didn't do his research about what to order.
That blur didn't effect 😂😅
Next year BigBoss 9 contestant found out.
The guys said coffee is good there. But Kripal is not liking it..
Waiting for tamara 2

Same here... Waiting for Tamara 2

Serving Coffee that Cold is a crime :-((
dear mr. Kripal,
Nice to see you exploring more and more places around Mysore!
Based on your comments regarding the coffee and the comments from the viewers under the video I would like to give you a couple of insights on the topic and bring some clarity.
The temperature of your drink - you ordered flat white was actually fine. Here is the definition of flat white - In a flat white, the milk is steamed without frothing approximately to 54 °C (129 °F). Steaming the milk to this temperature retains the fats and proteins in the milk which retain a sweet flavour, lost when milk is steamed to scalding temperatures. The guys in SAPA are following these standards of the international coffee world - using espresso machines.
In general, in such cafes - your coffee drink should be ready to drink once it's served on the table - the logic behind this is to give you coffee so you can start immediately drink it not to wait another 5 minutes to wait for it to cool down from 120C.It's just not the same ''filtered coffee'' you are drinking on the streets of India. If it would be ''boiling hot'' as you normally like, it wouldn't be flat white :)
It's not possible to compare a product if the preparation and process of making has completely different procedures - and expecting the ''same'' result. (filter indian coffee and flat white from espresso machine)
By writing these lines I'm just trying to share my knowledge and give you more information on the topic. I hope this brought some clarity and understanding.
have a great day and keep making great videos!
regards, martin
Hi Martin,
Appreciate your in-depth comment.
As mentioned in my video, the coffee would have been the optimal temperature had it been served soon after being prepared. However in this case, the barista prepared the coffee, kept it on the counter, and then proceeded to ring up the order, assemble the desserts etc., before proceeding to serve the coffee. As a result, the coffee cooled down for the 7-8 minutes that it sat in the air conditioned environment.
My feedback wasn’t about the temperature of a flat white, but rather about the sequence of service.
Cheers!
