I have two pothos plants hanging on my curtain rail, so they get a lot of sunlight, and they are growing so fast! Had them for a few months, currently five new leaves in different stages of growth on one, and four on the other. I’ve never had much luck with plants, but these £1 ikea clearance plants are absolutely thriving. I want to have some in water, so will start propagating soon.

Hi, my Pothos plant sits in front of a south-facing window, and on sunny days it gets direct sunlight from 11 am until 4 pm. It receives bright indirect light over 7,000 lux, plus a lot of direct light/direct sun which increases the light to 40,000-100,000 lux. It's right next to the window. 😊

Honestly, almost any kind of LED light works, especially if you don't have a bunch of plants (but even then, you can make it work). You don't need some fancy set up. As long as it's bright, it'll work. I love in a basement apartment with no windows near and have 20+ plants under a bright, 3 armed, $15 LED light from Walmart and they're thriving. You can find decent grout lights on Amazon but if you already have some laying around, give that a shot.

Hi, thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, plant diagnosis is not always quick and easy. There are situations where it’s possible to diagnose a problem quickly. But a lot of cases are more complex, and require photos and additional information.
For example, brown leaf patches can be caused by overwatering, underwatering, overfertilizing, fungal disease, compacted soil…To properly diagnose it, I would need quite a bit of information from you :) Info on the care the plant is receiving (light, watering, fertilizing…) as well as the environment it’s in. Due to the number of messages I receive every day and the complexity of questions like this I am unfortunately unable to help everyone.
Here is some information that should be helpful:
      1) 8 out of 10 times, the problem is lack of light. You can check out my Instagram highlighted stories on light: instagram.com/stories/highlights/17905018642303842/
The plant should have an unobstructed view of the sky, no trees, buildings or awnings blocking the view of the sky. Blinds should be open and lifted all the way up. Curtains pulled all the way to the side (unless there is too much direct sun).
For info on how much light your plant needs, there is a table at the end of this post: www.mrhouseplant.com/blog/what-is-bright-indirect-light-for-plants/
      2) the second most common issue is related to the potting mix retaining too much water, not being well-draining enough and not having enough oxygen for the roots. Check out these IG stories on how to make a good potting mix instagram.com/stories/highlights/17849507773982220/
      3) The next issues is improper watering - instagram.com/stories/highlights/18003567253173481/
      4) the last one are pests - instagram.com/stories/highlights/17906731198429617/ and instagram.com/stories/highlights/17883098062684062/
You can send me a photo of the plant and the window. They both have to be visible. If it’s a simple issue, I will do my best to help.
For more complex issues, I offer personal consultations, so I can dedicate the time needed to provide a proper solution www.mrhouseplant.com/consultations/
I hope this is all helpful 😊
