This is top tier content. When I started tattooing you couldn’t watch a video of Chris Garver drawing. You’d have to go get tattooed by him and trick him into letting you watch him drawing. Now you just gotta click a button.
fantastic little series so far! i really appreciate the insights into Japanese designs, it reminds me to study the symbology well enough to feel that i am respecting the culture it grows from.
Absolutely gorgeous piece. You showed me the koi drawing now I’m going to take thjs on. I’m actually getting inked done at his/your shop- in NYC -five points. And I’m getting the Hannya and snake Japanese style- full leg sleeve by Lara.
Absolutely no way Chris would lose INKMASTER, judge material right here, Nunez would vouch for him, love ya style Chris, to get a tat from u is on the bucket list, Corey is right after u, free rain, GO HARD IS WHAT I WOULD SAY, cheers brutha and the page,
Hi Chris! I’m a jr tattoo artist (just started tattooing clients after my apprenticeship) and I just wanted to say how much I look up to you, I’m left handed as well and it definitely adds a bit of complication when tattooing, I would HIGHLY appreciate your advice/ input/ tips you’ve learned from tattooing left handed, and maybe things you’ve struggled with while tattooing left handed and how you overcome those hurdles ? Thank you x forever a fan -Alyssa
Love this. Thank you for the tips! Funny you mentioned ink master as I'm currently blazing through the series. I think I'm on the season you guest judged.
The comment about personality over precision is so true . Tattoo images should always have the human element and not look as though they have been done by a robot.
I loved the Ink Master comment .....I recently brought a piece to a gallery ....paintings .....they told me it doesn't look clean enough ...they pointed to the wall....dude made a print of his work on a computer and blue it up...what he failed to clean was the neon green outside line from the first laser copy after taking it to be blown up by a shop. After I pointed that out they were not happy and didn't want my work. The work was first nations art on a wood panel....they wanted a laser printed print blown up on their wall. I wished I lived in LA so I could sell bullshit abstract art too.....say like ...throwing a bucket of bright paint down an aluminum ladder fixed to the floor in front of a blank canvas with a spot light on it or some shit. LOL

You'd be crazy to use Ink master as any kind of metric for how good someone is.
Their inability to make sound judgements is astounding.

Better to have personality than precision. I’m using that one. 🤌
