Sounds nice but alone is alone. You said in previous videos you wondered why your mom stopped progressing when she moved to Prachuap but take a look as it is not surprising. I am close to your moms age but have lived in Thailand a long time with a Thai wife speak , read & write Thai & have family house etc. But to leave your mom alone in another city even if closer to you is still alone in a foreign country where she does not speak the language. I do not mean to be negative trust me I am not but I think if you cannot keep her close as in real close then she at minimum needs a city with a really strong expat community or to be back home in Texas with her sister & mother/family not to mention fully covered health insurance via Medicare. Good Luck
I know you're a lot smarter than your initial thoughts about my situation. You should know in your long life that not everything is the same as how we see it.
One of the best things about Thailand is the ability to move around, to change your mind, and try something new. As circumstances change, moving is often a good option. The cost for moving is so much less expensive than in America. From storage to moving help to cleaners and even replacement furniture...a whole different experience.
This all sounds like a great plan and I think Kara will really love being closer to you. As you’ve said, there may be some adjustments as she goes along but thats to be expected. It all looks good! Tell Kara that I’ve been inspired to do some upper body exercises every morning now and I walk almost every day. I’m planning on going back to the gym next month. (I’m 76.) The older we get the more diligent we have to be about maintaining our health! Sending much love to you all. ❤
Our Mom had her bedroom upstairs, with ensuite and every other Knick knack that she loves. She resisted the suggestion to move downstairs, said that it was good exercise going up and down. Then she had a fall on the staircase. 4 month in rehab. In Korat’s Camillion care nursing home. Then back home downstairs. Staircases at home tend to be used with less caution than those elsewhere due to familiarity etc. The Ambulance paramedics had a lot of difficulty getting her down and stated “No more bedroom upstairs for Mom”. Hope all goes well with Kara, Blessings.
The Bed frame at the new place looks to high off the floor for comfort to get in and out of bed. Should be 20 and 1/2 inches to top of mattress for ease of getting in and out. Also closer to ground for us folk in our 70's so if we roll out of bed (did that twice last year) it's closer to ground. And get something softer to land on as the hard tile floor is not forgiving.
Seems like a good plan Chuck. Your mum has had a nice soft landing in her move to Thailand until the accident anyway in Pkk. A new place will make her even more confident in her ability to thrive and survive in Thailand. She can Branch out and make some more friends as well. Good luck.
I agree it is a good and wise move, Chuck. Closer to you and the new place looks great! Beautiful river and more farang food options. You’ve ticked all the boxes, mate. Well-thought out.
Good Morning , thanks for vid and as for your mom she had lots friends where she is now , I hope she can make friends in new place . Whatever makes your mom happy
Smart choice Chuck. Mom's accident changed the game. Now, as you have said getting her healthy is the prime directive. Once her recovery is complete if she really doesn't like it there then she can try someplace else. It's just too easy in Thailand and so many choices.
This sounds like a fab move for Kara and for you and Paige too. We watch a lot of other Thai You Tubers and they always say that Nakhom is one of their favourite provinces. Good luck. Onwards and upwards . And you really are a wonderful son getting Kara motivated and fit 😊
Nakhon Phanom could easily be a fit for me. Kara will love her new place. Looking forward to visiting there again. Moving forward...All the best. Mitch 🙏
Wish your mom all the very best. Glad you did not buy the place at prachuap. During corona time I watched your biking and talking videos...pushed me thru the situation and now your videos are encouraging me to bring up my health and do something in my life.
Hey Chuck I am the tenant in your Mom's future apartment. It's a great place, good call on the AC because it needs it. I have a gift that I was wanting to give you but your Mom had an accident (and good to see she is doing well). I am going back to Ireland next week. It would have been great to have seen you. My girl and I will clean the apartment before we leave. The steps are very narrow and steep, I hope the railings help your mother. Where will I leave these gifts for you Chuck? It's my country flag and a fridge magnet because I know you like to collect them.
Sorry my friend we didn't get a chance to meet. I'm sure the house will be cleaned up very well after you leave. You can just leave that with dun she will get it to me. Have a safe trip back.
Chuck, good to see an organic carrot, but geez...red meat for health? And then a potato smothered in, what, sour cream? So much fat. Very little fiber there and major inflammation. Almost no micro nutrients. High fat, high protein, low carb. That's basically the old Atkins diet (or Keto today) so very bad for health. Get her plenty of fruit, plenty of veggies, salads, beans, whole grains. The most scientifically researched, easy to read book, How Not To Die, by Dr. Michael Greger, if you really want to help your mom, get it. I'm just trying to help. I've studied health for my whole life. Plant based if you want her to live and get strong. Good luck. It won't be easy. Easy is what you gave her tonight.
Gee mate, your a bit straight, lol, I'd hate to be invited to your house for a feed, cant imagine it would be any good or exciting and probably no beers on the list, no thanks, I'll stick with my lifestyle, like Chuck said, we all have an expiry anyway and trust me, I have seen some very fit people drop dead from heart attacks, one just recently, lining up for a marathon, not an ounce of fat on him, just turned 50, gym boy, 3 times a week as well, just enjoy life but don't put your trip onto other people
Onwards and upwards. Sad to see Kara leave PKK, she has made her place a cozy home but I'm sure once she's in her new home, it will soon look just as lovely. She will have so much more space and a great river view. Looking forward to the next chapter, thanks for sharing xxx

I'm just thinking out loud here but buddy you got it covered !!! Mom looks like she's getting stronger and happy to have a little boy close by. And what can I say Paige is a special person.
Yep. It’s always good when a plan comes together. Especially a good one like this one. Kara will be fine because she is a tough Texan and she has the perfect son to keep up the motivation. You go girl and get it done. Being healthy is paramount. Best wishes from looney land- (US). Southeast Asia is a better environment and way better health wise for Kara. God bless and keep up the good work Kara. Thank you for sharing terrific videos Paige and Chuck. 😎🇹🇭💪🍺🇺🇸
Another move in the right direction. I will be a bad ass here again and wonder why you are going the route of self-physical therapy and not using the expertise of a PTherapist. After such a successful surgery, why take a chance. Possibly the Ptherapist at the hospital gave your instruction. I skip your exercise sessions and although the upper body exercises are much needed, everything else makes me nervous. Here is a receipe for home made sour cream: whisk together one cup of cream and one teaspoon of distilled white vinegar or lemon juice in a clean mason jar. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then add ¼ cup of whole milk. Stir well to combine. Cover jar with a lid or cheesecloth secured with a rubber band and let sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours. Chill before serving.
Good morning Chuck, Paige, and Kara. I remember when you made that video on the river house, and you told the lady that your mom would like to live there. Very good choice. You are taking good care of mom and the house. Stay strong and healthy 🙏
Good move as it will be very much closer to you especially with her health condition. From time to time we still need to have content from PKK especially with Joe & Gift. Have a wonderful day and keep up with the exercise for Mom Kara.
Hey Chuck, being a beach/coastline lover myself, I was saddened to hear of Kara moving to an inland city, but after seeing all the amenities and pluses Nakhon Phanom has to offer Kara, I think you both have made the best decision. Have you thought about getting Kara a multi geared 3 wheeler bike to get her around in Nakhon Phanom town? It would be much more stable than a 2 wheeled bike and the selection of gears could match her increases in fitness as time goes on. (P.s, this is based on my assumption that her current 3 wheeler bike has no gears).
Thanks for watching this video. We have bought her a three wheel bicycle a few videos back. Of course most of them are not multi-geared. But she doesn't need to go very fast in that.
Good to be on the waterfront. You mentioned there is an exercise area 2.2 km away? My thought is that it may be a challenge to bicycle out there on a regular basis, especially coming home after exercise. Always harder to do this stuff as we get older. A Grab would probably be used more often for that. Is there any shopping, stores, restaurants, even 7-11 close by? Within walking distance? That would be a good way to get some exercise. Food and shopping are great motivators to getting out. It won't even feel like exercising.
Please Chuck, don't ever let your mom ride herself on a bike, a trike, or an electric whatever. Let her become accustomed to riding with a native local driver whenever she wants to go somewhere. As you know, the mindset there is very much different when it comes to maneuvering in traffic. I'm 80 and I'm aware of balance issues common to older folks, and reflexive actions required when in a hectic environment. When I was there I developed a mature local driver that I could call for rides. Granted, I paid him well, but still. It really made sense and reduced my chances to being involved in a collision. Enjoying watching your journey, stay well.
Exactly I would never put my Mom in a tuk tuk in Thailand the 2nd worst place in the world for road fatalities. It’s just not like our driving conditions in our Western countries this was just an error in judgement, which was unfortunate but luckily wasn’t a 2 vehicle accident. So yes get the numbers of local transport it’s so cheap to use.
Hey Chuck and Paige and Mom Kara, very informative video. Chuck, I would think the next stage for Mom would be a cane. I know you don't like them, but you may find it's better for her. I think back when my Mom was having trouble walking, I couldn't get her to use a cane, and she had a few falls. She just couldn't walk to far without help, so I got a wheelchair instead. I do know what you are going through, my friend and it's hard on you mentally because you want the best for her, and that's understandable. Just do your best and things will work out in the end. ❤❤❤
You guys knows what's best for what you guys needed, especially Mommy Kara. Logical reasons to consider and a lot of sense too. I saw that video too when you passed by and visited your friend Dan before, and they were doing some renovations/contruction. I hope Mommy Kara will like the place too. Its a good size and with a nice balcony over looking the river.
I digress from the topic, but Chuck you are a great son and there are very few things in life more noble than looking after your parents well being as well as happiness. Kudos to you brother. - Bodhi & Kanjana, Hua Hin
Hi Chuck. No one knows better than you and her what suits her depending of her happiness, security and way of living . The comments on your networks are only based on what is broadcasted and not on the whole reality of the situation. I am sure that you are making the best choices for her and that she will be much closer to you( less stressful for you). True friends will not get lost and this is an opportunity to make new ones. Beautiful adventures in perspective! Who knows we might move to Nakhon Phanom in 18 months😂
The only good reason against EV I have read is what if your stuck on a freeway during a hurricane… But then again at least in Florida most gas stations are out of gas anyways…
Totally agree with you Chuck, spent 8 weeks hunting around Prachuap for land, the city has a very over-inflated view of what they are worth. They see westerners coming in and the prices have tripled in the last few years. More importantly it has absolutely nothing to offer, poor food quality and variety, zero shopping, no good hospital etc. The best beach Ao Manao is all shells and rocks and much of the best property in Ao Manao, Ao Noi, Ao Prachuap is owned by the government.
Good choice I really like Nakhon Phanom my sister in law and her husband lives there. I always enjoy spending time there and the BigC has really good Khao Man Gai
Kara, you're looking better and stronger every day. Chucks rehab and boot camp is working great. I know it will be an adjustment moving from PKK but Chuck has a nice place picked out for you. I think you will get settled in nicely and enjoy the new surroundings. Keep up the exercise program, and remember that we are all rooting for you.💪
Good on mum for doing so well. Youre a good son, chuck. A very steep learning curve for her, but hopefully it's given her the shakeup that she needed to get herself more physical and mobile. We were in NP a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The end of town that Chelsea's is on is lovely and quiet and the gorgeous view of the Mekong should keep mum happy. Keep up the great work.
When I was staying in Bangkok we sent several packages up to Nang Rong. The shipping was really cheap compared to the USA. Good luck on your move,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The problem with EV vehicles is that the range is not there!!! You could not drive from New Jersey to Florida without hours of charging in during the trip!!! And that extra time would matter if you have a sick relative that needed you there!!!
We have some friends that I've showed on video that have one here they have EV just about every fuel station here which is many. They have a quick charge that takes an hour and a half and cost a lot less than fuel if you don't have the time. I don't think electric vehicles are probably for most people but thankfully they're an alternative for some. And we're not stuck with just one source. These things can go over 300 km without a charge. I usually fuel up about 450km with my diesel. Of course my situations a little different here because I don't live in the United states.
I know you got your plans ready to go forward Shipmate... But some advice if you will take it is that your mother will be most Vulnerable Near and around Her Bed during Her Recovery ie Waking Up at Night to Use the Bathroom and Just Getting up and out in General... I would get Some Type of Matt or Soft Carpet around the Bed to Avoid falling or Slipping on that hard tiled floor... Speedy Recovery 🙏🏿
Your Mom is doing great. Good thing yall didn't purchase a property down south. So yall do not have to worry about selling a property. I think it is a good decision for her to be closer to you.
We will never buy any property in thailand. My wife already owns the one we keep our stuff. I am easily irritated with people haha so I like to be in control of what works for me, neighborhood turns to s***. We just go somewhere else, not my problem.
She’s moving there??? ………. well, I’m surprised. I wouldn’t have guessed it. Putting so much time effort and energy into that place next to Joe and Gift, with her own little cute touches. Well, I’ve been wrong before. I hope Kara likes it more than where she’s living now, because she’s going to have to, otherwise it will be a waste of time.
Lol not everything is how we see it. And just because you move somewhere doesn't mean it's going to be the perfect place for you. Luckily we don't own it and it's easily to pick up and move. There's no sense in staying somewhere that doesn't make sense to you or your unhappy. She doesn't need to force herself to be content. Luckily she has me to help her get to wherever she needs to be. A lot of the reasons why she was having problems before the accident was because I was not close by and very alone. 25% of that of our life is shown on video. Thank you for watching that
Thanks for getting back to me…..you are right, we don’t see her as being unsettled, unhappy at times. I watched the other video where you will only be 55 minutes from her and remember that lower level house, the view of the river. The one thing going for her where she lives now is the people…..Joe, Gift, Mike, Nicole, her next door neighbors, Clouse. But as much as Kara likes her private time, she will pick and choose more friends where she’s moving too….Right Kara?! Also Chuck, I know your Mom and me would be partners in crime if we ever got together! She’s a lot like me and I know we’d be BFF’s if I ever moved to Thailand. But you don’t have to worry…living there is something I can fantasize about. I’m pushing 76 yrs old. Take care…..no need to respond……..TY, Katherine.
Great to see the Titanium woman doing so well! only concern or thought I had about Kara moving is her losing all her new friends and who will be there to look out for her when you and Paige go on your trips, But I'm sure she will meet people wherever she is, but I do reckon it becomes harder to make friends as you get older..or maybe that's just me lol 😋
Great show Chuck I think it's great how u take care of Kara! Your definitely a special man! Love and prayers to you and your family as alway's stay cool, kind and generous!
G'day Chuck, Paige and Kara. Great to see Kara making a good recovery. This move to Nakhon Phanom seems a great idea. Just starting to catch up on your videos from the past month after a 4 week holiday in Thailand and Vietnam. All the best guys!
It will be plenty of opportunities for her to get in the pool in Nakhon Phanom since every resort there has one and allowed guests from outside to pay a small fee to use them. Also community pools where they provide lessons
Chuck, I totally agree with you regarding moving forward with EV technology. On another note, 🎉Artificial Intelligence (AI) is probably the single most important invention in the 21st Century and it's here to stay. It's already making, in certain fields, a huge impact on our lives.
They didn't come in her place now but I installed them. Don't worry we will have sufficient ones in her new place as well. I've got a pretty good drill....
It's nice to see your mom doing so well and in the new place you might be able to get a small treadmill so she can walk more without going out in the heat. She also has a nice view.
Kara, I’m so glad to see you recovering so nicely and see you have your Always Present Positive Attitude in check. That’s one reason you’re on the mend so fast..but I’d also like to say that you are a Very Blessed Mom to have such an incredible son like Chuck right there by your side ❤ I know I don’t have to tell you that because you already know it. But I couldn’t resist ☺️ Ray and I will miss having you in our neck of the woods..it was so fun getting to meet you that day at Market Village with Mary. But I know you are going to have a Sweet new pad where your going ( we’re kind of jealous 😉) and we can’t wait to see it once you get all moved in because it’s going to be REALLY AMAZING!!! You take care of yourself and Thank You for being a Stellar son Chuck!! Hi Paige!! It was fun meeting you in front of Bangkok Hospital last week when we rode by on our bikes and stopped to chat ❤❤❤
My friend you are a wonderful person with a very good heart thinking of everything and the future is stressful but your doing a good job your mom is doing awesome with her exercises good job my friends
Good work team Chucky👍mum is looking younger everyday and getting stronger❤ Also electric cars were the first cars but the patent was bought and suppressed by the Rockerfellers 😢
When I first started out being a mechanic and the late '80s I saw a system called the water drip system. It could be attached to the base plate of a carburetor it would increase your fuel mileage for over double. It was big news for a short time and I even seen one of these on a pickup truck. Next thing you know Shell oil company bought out the rights and squashed it. You think they were looking out for the interest of anybody else but themselves? That's just something I see for my personal experience that causes me to think the way that I do. Not the news.
@@notime2bsad 100% mate. There was even an older fella in outback Australia that built a motor to run on water, that was also big news for a short few days, he sold the patent and was never heard from again 😳
Using gasoline is primitive We should all be driving alternative vehicles by now. If we all went electric 50 years ago we would have batteries that did not harm the Environment by now. That steak you made for your Mom looked awesome!
You realize the majority of electricity is made with fossil fuel, right??? Mining for the materials to make the batteries is horrible for the environment. We don't have the infrastructure to support wide scale EV use and won't any time soon. Places like California already have shortage of electricity during certain times of the year even without more EV use. Insurance companies are already refusing to insure EV because of the risk of fire danger. Parking garages, apartment buildings, and businesses are now prohibiting EV from parking in their lots. Fire departments and other first responders are having to take extra training on the risks of EV batteries. I've taken the training and it's eye opening. Democrats are using the green energy movement to push for higher taxes and regulation. They started making EV in the late 1800's and a 125+ years later there still not viable. How many people in the world could even afford an EV or a battery replacement in one?
I'm glad you got a plan. But it's a shame you have to go through all this. Seems like you just got her settled. I'm glad the accident didn't sour her on Thailand, though.
Why she doesn't like it anymore and not happy there's no reason to settle for that. So easy to make another plan Thailand is easy life is easy, things are difficult
@@notime2bsad Not questioning it. Do what you think best. Just feel bad for y'all. But at least you're rolling with the punches and there's no time to be sad.
@@DaveR Don't feel bad my friend, We don't have buyers remorse. This is why i don't recommend trying to anchor in. No roots, easy to go and leave it behind.
this is a good move Chuck. her new home looks excellent and will uplift her spirit in many ways. Kara will move forward, life will be better for her in Nakhon Panhom

Mom looks like she's getting stronger and happy to have a little boy close by.
And what can I say Paige is a special person.
Life is one adjustment at a time, Prayers for you're Mom, ✌✌
I see improvement every day! Glad your mom is getting better Chuck!
Kara’s doing GREAT!!!!!!
Glad to hear your mom is progressing well and you have a plan for new location. 👍
I am very excited for your mom’s next move! I’m sure she’ll be very happy. Also she will be living not so far from you..
You are doing the right thing for everyone involved. Get well soon mum❤
I've driven pure electric for over 10 years, along with solar I've saved a fortune!
Its a good size and with a nice balcony over looking the river.
we are glad to see your mom doing well and moving forward one day at a time. So what was the outcome of the hospital discout package?
Good luck with moving mom Kara to Naknon Phanom in the near future. I guess it's a good move if that's what she wants, so stay safe.
What a cool set up….. great move idea …. And so large.
Good luck with the move. She needs to be closer to you.
Hi Chuck and Paige thank you for the video yes it's going to be really good mom moving closer to you. I think its the best for all of you. Take care.
It's good she's moving closer to you. It is a shame that she got the place just like she liked it though.
in a lot of cases people have buyer's remorse. That's why I always recommend just staying in an area temporarily just to test the water.
THANKS CHUCK FOR THE VIDEO! WE UNDERSTAND THE MOVE FOR YOUR MOM! ALL THE BEST! AND GOD BLESS!
It is the same reason we still are not driving a Model A we evolved
Totally agree with you Chuck, spent 8 weeks hunting around Prachuap for land, the city has a very over-inflated view of what they are worth. They see westerners coming in and the prices have tripled in the last few years. More importantly it has absolutely nothing to offer, poor food quality and variety, zero shopping, no good hospital etc. The best beach Ao Manao is all shells and rocks and much of the best property in Ao Manao, Ao Noi, Ao Prachuap is owned by the government.
Good morning Chuck Paige and Kara 😎✌🏼🇹🇭
Good morning!
Keep up the exercise program, and remember that we are all rooting for you.💪
Thank you very much.
What about a 3 wheeled scooter? My 82 yr old aunt has one at her beach house and it’s her main mode of transportation.
Cool area she’s going to. Are you going to pack up everything and move it or start fresh?
Not sure. But I know I won't be packing anything, it's too easy and cheap in Thailand to do that.
When I was staying in Bangkok we sent several packages up to Nang Rong. The shipping was really cheap compared to the USA. Good luck on your move,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Hey Chuck, Plse update or Preview on New Place for Kara 😮 50 Minutes doesn’t sound close, My parents were only 20-25 Minutes away 🤩🙏
Have a nice day
Sounds like a good plan!
You do what you have to do Chuck, It's FAMILY.
I switched to Greek yoghurt on baked potatoes 🥔 give it a try.. it’s delicious & you won’t go back to sour cream 😋
Wishing you all the very best with the move ahead Chuck, the new place for Kara looks pretty good.
That new place looks to be fantastic. That huge porch area overlooking the river seems perfect! Overall an upgrade I believe...
Chuck I was watching you mop the floor and made a comment that you were doing a bad job, then realized I had a dirty computer screen. LOL
I'm so happy that she'll be closer to you guys.😊👍🏽💜
Great news! That’s where you wanted her to begin with! So happy for you! I’m sure it will work out! God bless!!🙏🏼
Living not to far away myself, lovely part of the country
Wow your mothers new place looks fantastic..so big and airy seems like a great move....love the vlogs!
Sounds like a great plan. I hope it all works out 🙏
Hello, it would be nice if your mother can access the pool rather than the sea for her exercise as she will have more freedom in the water. 💓😉❤️
It will be plenty of opportunities for her to get in the pool in Nakhon Phanom since every resort there has one and allowed guests from outside to pay a small fee to use them. Also community pools where they provide lessons
Very wise move Chuck, mum Kara will love it there..
Chuck, I totally agree with you regarding moving forward with EV technology. On another note, 🎉Artificial Intelligence (AI) is probably the single most important invention in the 21st Century and it's here to stay. It's already making, in certain fields, a huge impact on our lives.
As a father of three and a son to my parents, I am proud for you Chuck. You are unbreakable and a true warrior.
We were in nakhon phanom last October for the candle boats it is a nice city
Good that kara will be closer to yourself and pagie sorry she / you spent so much $ in house.u haul😊
I hope they install ramps on the outer doorways and handrails for the shower.
They didn't come in her place now but I installed them. Don't worry we will have sufficient ones in her new place as well. I've got a pretty good drill....
This son forgets nothing. He is truly an amazing son 💕🌻💕
Whats the option for moving your mum back to USA?
We haven’t heard from your mom … what does she want ??
My friend you are a wonderful person with a very good heart thinking of everything and the future is stressful but your doing a good job your mom is doing awesome with her exercises good job my friends
I appreciate that
Good work team Chucky👍mum is looking younger everyday and getting stronger❤
Also electric cars were the first cars but the patent was bought and suppressed by the Rockerfellers 😢
You're Killing the workouts Kara!! Keep working hard as it will definitely payoff in the long run. Eye of the Tiger!! 🏋♀🏋♂🏋😉
Onward and Upward!
I want to stay there myself...
@@notime2bsad All the best, man.
this is a good move Chuck. her new home looks excellent and will uplift her spirit in many ways. Kara will move forward, life will be better for her in Nakhon Panhom
Sometime shit happens for a good reason
The food looked great, Chuck! I bet Kara will love the move!
