Love my original Simplifier. One of the pots crapped out, and after I sent them a video of it not working they sent one to me as soon as they had parts. Great company!
I bought one and it' s amazing. Best drive Pedal.
chords and coffee is a hell of a way to start the morning
I think the Silver Linings shines best in the Vintage/Normal mode at lower gain settings. I was a little nervous about getting one, because in almost all the online demos, it sounds a bit fizzy, but I love my Simplifiers, and with that confidence in mind, I finally took the plunge earlier this year. The Silver Linings turns out to be perfect for me, with no trace of unwanted fizziness. I use the boost as a post-drive volume boost only, and front-end the Silver Linings with a separate clean boost for extra overdrive.
That's a great pedal. I love everything I've seen and heard from DSM & Humboldt so far.
Until the next versatile drive is showcased this is indeed, The Most Versatile Drive Pedal Ever showcased on Anderson's channel this week!
The design of the boost circuit is genius! Can be pre, post or both!⭐
I love the overdrive tones you get from DSM Humbolt. I got their Simplifier DLX and the overdrive has this nice bite to it.
I bought one from Andertons but it was way much nosier than my Iridium, I wonder if it's just like that or my unit was broken.
Looks like Origin finally has some competition for the Revival stuff! Sounds great
Wow, that drive pedal sounds awesome!!!
The vintage mode with the gain cranked sounds awesome!
Thanks for the upload boys
You do a better job of demo'ing this thing than the manufacturer does! Pete looked as though he was really into it as well.
Thanks for the tonage, fellas. The new drive sounds great.
Holy balls.... That vintage mode blow my pant off. If only I could afford one I would order it immediately. Guys you are awesome ❤️
Much too footery, my rule of thumb is when demonstrators say love it, if it doesn't appear on their pedal board then that's B.S. I enjoyed this video very informative thanks guys. Respect and stay healthy all.
The problem with that logic is that no matter how great a pedal is, people will still prefer the strymon stuff for example. People love to have the popular stuff either with pedals or clothes or phones or whatever
You guys are looking sharpe and sounding great. Keep it up!
Decent pedal no doubt.
After getting burnt out on endless OD/preamp devices, is what it seems, falling down from Silverside (clipping my fragile, unbalanced head) this refined and brilliant device of class that is so cool and indeed, refreshing!!
That's a very tall claim 😜🎸....got me fascinated...lol .. looks good so far! Love to you guys from Adirondack mountains in upstate NY..🌎☮️
Viva Chile!
Honestly this feel like it's the Automatone for dummies. Which is a fantastic thing.
Awesome review.
They’ve done it again. Buying.
15:00 Man, you got me laughing with that little nod to jingle bells!
I bought this pedal after my Jam Pedals Lucy Dreamer had to go in for repair. It’s very versatile. Have used it live (in conjunction with the Simplifier) and you just have to know where to put the gain and which style you want for the next song. It’s definitely workable live. I think the price is spot on. You pay a lot more for less versatility.
Is it a True Bypass ?
@@cronenbergj, I actually am not sure. I believe so, but there is nothing online that says it is. There isn’t even an online user manual you can download. You could ask DSM directly, I am sure they would answer.
Yes, could not find even a manual. I will send an email. Thanks.

Great pedal.
I love it that Pete (a pro musician) calls the pups back and front rather than bridge and neck 😁😎
Wow...you may be correct my fine sirs...that screaming gated fuzz is absolutely crazy
I knew Pete was going to love the vintage mode saggy fuzz 😝
14:41 Pete you cracked me up there man!
Ahhhhh man G.A.S. never stops.....
That Texas tea tele gets me everytime 🤘🏻
Glad to see a Les Paul right off the bat first thing this morning, way to start off the day right. Great pedal but for $330 US it's a bit steep for me. Other great options for that kind of dough. Although it's quite the flexible, I do agree this is more a studio toy..
Completely agree always good to see a Les Paul😁and yes, that's a bit pricey for me as well 😃
Sounds great, seems very versatile, and I can probably get rid of a couple of pedals which altogether cost about the same...
I've been considering getting this pedal since hearing this video a few weeks ago and listening to the other videos which all sound really good, too. I just pulled the trigger on a demo model at a great price yesterday! :)
I've found between my Diezel Herbert and Bogner Ecstasy Red pedals that I acquired last year that most of the drive tones (at least the higher gain ones that I like) are covered with those two, and my multi-effects pedal can easily fill in any gaps. I've even been considering selling my Alexander Jubilee since the Bogner gets really close to it. But I really loved that high gain vintage mode fuzz-style tone on this and that sounded completely unique. It does sound quite a bit like my Bogner on the soft and hard clipping modes, too, so it will be interesting to see if there is enough overlap that I might even want to sell the Bogner at some point. I am really looking forward to this pedal arriving!
How much gain does this have also with the pre Boost ,compared to a BOGNER red, in Hard mode ?
@@cronenbergj I've had the Silver Linings a few days now and the Silver Linings seems to have a bit more gain during playing at max gain (and it can also get to lower gain levels than the Bogner, though the Bogner seems to have a bit finer gain adjustments). When not playing the Silver Linings has a lot more feedback at max gain, too, which I've been having a lot of fun playing around with. It can be controlled well when backed off the gain and/or the volume if not desired, and turning off the boost or lowering the boost gain seems to adjust the extra feedback more than the playing gain sound. You can definitely get some pretty awesome levels of feedback with the Silver Linings if you have both the gain and boost gain both cranked though (and I'm using an Epiphone Les Paul, not a semihollow).
I've definitely been liking it a lot so far. My favorite mode is Vintage - it gets a really good modded Marshall sound on high gain, and then turns into a lovely, spitty fuzz pedal with the boost engaged and cranked. :) There is definitely overlap between the Bogner's and Silver Linings' tones, but the Bogner I think has a tighter tone and EQ while the Silver Linings is fatter and fuzzier, so I will be keeping both for the foreseeable future. The Silver Linings gets very close to the Alexander Jubilee pedal and I think might sound closer to an actual Silver Jubilee (plus it has a whole lot of other tones available), so I am planning to look into selling the Jubilee pedal soon.
@@TarenLeitzke i just got it also, 1 day ago...i only have single coils guitars...but from the 1st impressions...it can get pretty Heavy with the Pre Boost on....seems very versatile, although it also has kinda of it's own sound...kinda modern and bittey maybe ?
But i do not think, it is very Metal territory.... but that is not my interest. I Think in Hard mode , and pmaying with the pre tobe, you can get Tigher sound or Fatter. The Viintage mode surely sounds Fatter...the Hard...more...cutting maybe, and does not seems to get fuzzy...more precise.
@@cronenbergj I agree, it doesn't quite do metal. I have a Diezel Herbert pedal that does metal perfectly for when I want that, which isn't frequently. The Silver Linings is still my favorite drive even after almost a year, and I keep it hooked up to my amp for when I want to play. I also still have my Bogner Ecstasy Red. There is a strong similarity between the two but there is enough of a difference (Bogner being slightly tighter and more bass heavy regardless of how I adjust the EQ) that I have still kept it. They are definitely most similar when the Silver Linings is on the Hard clipping mode.
Pete is more at home on the Tele, now they just need to paint it purple, he's pretty damn awesome on anything he plays though really😉
This pedal is incredible - I hate to say it, but imagine all this goodness as MIDI presets
I bought one!
It’s got some great tones for sure but too bad it doesn’t have some way to set up presets so you don’t have to stop and turn knobs every time you wanna change sounds
Go Pete!
Pete loves hard mode
Sorry for Pete’s purple tele but Lee’s thinline is the new queen … what a gorgeous guitar
I demand an entire episode of Pete playing Petefied Christmas carols while Cap randomly changes effects loop.
Are we getting a Dreadbox review soon? Pedals are so good.
Jingle Bells in Danish is awesome!!!
the JHS paul gilbert does the same thing as this pedal, "pre gain" pushes the signal harder into the fet/ transistors which gives the spitty punchy sag sound for lack of a better description. ('push' knob on the jhs)
Fuuuck! Never noticed Pete had some ears diamonds!
Why wasn’t this demoed on the DSM humble simplifier deluxe.?
Liking this pedal , can you save settings at all and call them up when you need them.?
No, that's what analog is.
please dont say its December 2021, im still trying to get over 2020 nevermind being 4 weeks away from 2022 lol
Has Mexico moved to South America?
I think the cap should get fender to make a Mexican road worn version of his new Tele
Um...Mexico is in North America.
Lee let Pete play for a couple of seconds without interrupting him every second god damn it...
WILL YOU be doing any funny Christmas videos this year or do we HAVE to watch the reruns of you eating gross food and throwing guitars out the windows?!
I know you are a tele guy, Mr. Pete. But that LP looks really nice on you.. just saying...
High gain in "vintage mode" is the bee's knees.
What's the story on that Tele?
Chase Bliss Automatone says hi btw
So what happened with this pedal? Discontinued 6 months ago. Anyone know why?
It even seems capable of some Metal tones?
Does it beat Origin Effects Revival Drive ???? I think not 😎.
It's half the price...
@@Artec619 True but the question is one of versatility not of value.
s it True Bypass ?
Good quality Buffered Bypass.
@@alvaroolivares2880 him...thanks. not a fan of buffered bypass only, pedals... can it be toggled to True bypass, perhaps ?
Well, this or Audio Kitchen's Fake Plastic Trees into UA OX STOMP and I am done..?
Really Cap'n ? There's nothing inside? 😉
Drugs are Bad , Mkay ?
How to dial OUT a great pedal 🙄
You make it sound bad imo.
All is subjective.
Tom Quayle makes it sound good.
