I've so got to mention the few years I spent building those dune protection stair ways here in Australia (in Queensland on the Sunshine Coast) We would carry all the building materials, tools & equipment up dunes in the blistering sun to build them. Though a totally different part of the world, you have brought back so many wonderful memories of the infrastructure that myself & my crew build back in the 80's (with much of it is still being there today) My wife & I are so "over due" from getting back out there & visiting the so many unique places even though our bodies aren't really built for walks these days either, almost every time we have done so, it's so been worth the effort. Just your smiles alone make the video so worth it. Thank you for sharing your part of our wonderful world!!
Welcome to Indiana from someone who is a born and bred Hoosier now living in Greenville SC.The dunes state park is great place .Have good time with your trips
Love this vlog! Have been going to the Indiana Dunes State Park for 60? yrs because had lots of family in Porter and Chesterton. Still have cousins and my 94 yr old Aunt in Chesterton. Have never camped there though so excited to be coming up from AR to vancamp in 1 1/2 weeks. And yes...Chesterton is indeed a Hallmark town. Got to live there for a year and a half while my Dad served in Vietnam and Mom wanted us near family.❤
Ha, same for us. Mid 50s, need to get back in shape. That's what my dream for this new rig is, to travel like these folks and like Catherine Gregory, and walk trails to get in shape! Thanks free spirits out there for just doing it, you are an inspiration!
We gotta give you a hand. You know your gonna suffer and still you do it. And somehow you manage to give us a video with dialogue minus the hugging and puffin. Thanks for the vicarious experience👍
Oh golly, guys, I hope you didn't go back up the stairs. You could have walked along the beach. The trail from the beach back to the campground is relatively flat and firm.
That awesome, I'm about 10-15 away from Indiana dunes national park, Great place to hike, ready to get some hiking and camping in at starved rock state park as I see you were there recently as I watched that video to. Cheers.
Was there a few weeks ago...beautiful beach area and concession area. Did the trails. Nice area! Camping in the NP is a very different feel than the State Park camping area. No ammenities in the NP. NP passes are not accepted in the State Park! Extra charge for out-of-staters in the State Park.
Hey guys, loved the video. Proud for you taking that trek up and down all of those stairs. I almost felt like I was doing it myself. Looking forward to the next upload. Enjoy the journey,😊
Hi guys, great video, you have me thinking about exploring that area too! If you get to the upper Midwest again you should think about going up the western shore of Lake Michigan to Door County Wisconsin. We live in FL too (Jax) but we spend our summers in Door County. We would be happy to host your visit here.
Omg my wife was there same time as u directly behind you. She goes hope he don’t remember me in cheetah pajamas steeling wood out of the empty campsite. Lol. I said my favor RUclipsr was there she saw your sticker on your truck and said yep that’s him. Lol. Small world
Fantastic video. Packed with info. I live near Chicago and you definitely educated me on the area. Have been there several times , but not RVing. Your channel is great . I can see how much time you put into your videos
Hey you guys! I’ve been in that area many times, but it was at a company terminal. I used to haul a lot of steel out of there down to Laredo, and it was my home terminal for a while. They called it Gary though. Have fun and stay safe, hello to Abby! God bless!🎚🙏🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
Perhaps the next time you come to Indiana maybe I can meet you in person and you might consider coming back sometime to our Indiana national forest we have one of the largest forest in the country here in Indiana. And if I’m not mistaken I believe there are campgrounds on it as well we are beautiful place to come to in the fall when the leaves are changing.
There is a great restaurant in Three Oaks near Warren Dunes the Journeyman distillery .It is in an old factory that produced buggy whips and womens corsets owned by the Warrens.
Looks like fun! One thing that struck me @~10:53 was the QR code (I think that's what they're called). I thought about using a sharpie to randomly alter (a copy) and see what the result comes back as. I think about weird things like that... 🤔
Great video! Where do you get these stamps books? I've never heard of them, cool stuff! The Indiana Dunes State Park is so beautiful, we love it there, we are locals. I'm surprised if you were passing through that you could even get a spot here, they are very hard to get unless you luck out booking ahead online. Thank you for sharing your adventure, and be blessed on the road with safety!
There used to be a way to get to the beach without having to hike over the dunes. I grew up just north of Indianapolis, we went to Indiana dunes one time in the 1960's and drove to a parking area where the beach and lake were visible. Not sure where that was, within the park, or if it still exists.
Back in the 1970s, I think, I visited the Dunes with my family. There were hundreds of dead fish washing up on the shore. Thanks to environmental laws, the lake has been cleaned up considerably. We are all better for that. In case anyone wonders, I'm no relation to the Burns that Burns Harbor was named for.
Ps is your Ram a 1500? Just curious, we are new to this, got a 1500 hemi 4.7 to pull our Grand Design, does great. But you two have a lot of road miles, so I wondered what yours is, and how it does for these long hauls? We have a "tow" button on dash, but I don't get if it's for mountain driving or what, never use it. Should we? Also not up to speed on the 4 wheel drive, we just use regular 2 wheel drive for now. But we only go like 15 miles to the Dunes so far.
It looks like his RAM has a Cummins plate so it would be a 2500. My 2019 RAM has a 5.7 liter, and it pulls my 30 foot Passport Grand Touring with little effort. As far as the Tow/Haul button, when you activate it, it changes the transmission shift points and gets more power out of the engine. There are You Tube videos on how and when to use it.
Adam & Abby, my wife and I lived it that area until 1990. Also camped at the dunes area. We're now it the Raleigh area. Would really like to meet you guys if your going through the Raleigh area on your way home. PM me on Instant Messenger.
I know it's hard, but you should have gone down to the water, you were so close. My wife & I went to China in 2007 and had the opportunity to visit a section of the Great Wall. I climbed to the highest point at the section we were at, and my wife didn't because it was "too hard". She, to this day, regrets no doing it (BTW, she's a lot more physically fit than I). Long story short...seize the opportunity, no matter how hard it seems!
Wish there was more campground information. Was hoping it would be more informative. Show the parks, showers, camp store, drive through the camp etc. instead of filming just your area. Instead this felt like a video made for your family to watch you hiking and puffing, your personal camper photos of yourselves and what you did for the day. You are easy to listen to though, not annoying 😊 and your filming is good. I appreciated a look at the visitor center and knowing they have stamps and the houses.
Hello from Chesterton, Indiana!
I love you two for your honesty while hiking these trails. I too would struggle. Now we know what to expect, avoid, find another route.

Love the Weber Joe BBQ. Nice place to hang...just in time to beat the cold season.
I am glad to see you two in my back yard, we visit the dunes about twice a week to have lunch and people watch!
You missed the absolute gem of the trails at the State Park. Trail 9...spectacular views!! Maybe next time.
Respect, you made it all the way back from trail, great video guys
My wife is not able to travel that's why I love watching your videos so much and take us along on your adventures ! ! THANK YOU ! ! !
Let us know if there is something specific you guys would like to see!
@@Abby-uq6sx thanks for your reply-your videos are so good and I love the non-scripted dialog !! You guys are GREAT-just keep the videos coming !
Dont apologize... We love the real!! Keep doin what you do!!
We just visited there this summer. Even though I grew up in the Midwest, it was my first time visiting a Great Lake.

Hey guys great video! Love your channel and following your travels. I can't wait to see what is next! From Andalusia AL.
This was one of the funniest videos of your adventures yet. I laughed along with you as you fought your way over that dune. very enjoyable.
Great video, thanks for sharing the hike. Looked great fun but really tough x
Congratulations Adam and Abby for accomplishing your hike!!! Nice job
Glad your going to Warren Dunes state park. You must climb tower hill. This is one of my favorite places to go in summer.
It was a pleasure meeting you! Pro tip -- ask all the parks if they have any "extra stamps." ;)
Oh golly, guys, I hope you didn't go back up the stairs. You could have walked along the beach. The trail from the beach back to the campground is relatively flat and firm.
I wish we would have known!! Our legs hurt for three days!! 😂😂 It was worth it. 😊

What a small world it is!

That's a nice area. We stayed at the National Park Campground last year.
Your my heroes!
Another place I recommend is Brown county state park also Nashville Indiana in same area .
I love your adventures. You should look up Geocaching and Munzee games you play whilst on adventures like this.
Indiana State Parks are 2pm check-out and on Sundays or Holidays 5pm. I camp them all the time.
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks. Keep on with your exercise plans, you can do it!!
You have to go down to the water since you made it that far. Keep going!
Good job
Building that stepped boardwalk would have been quite a project.
im from michigan city and live there. yall werent far from me. lol glad ya liked it up here.
See now if you come to Michigan you can climb the Big Bear Sand Dunes and you will have worked the muscles to climb the dunes.

Hello 👋🏻
If your headed east from there before you go home. You need to visit New River Gorge National Park. It is only a couple of years old.
Ya we did that challenge and as soon as we seen the water we went down and walked the beach back to the campground 😂 we took the east way out.
Perhaps the next time you come to Indiana maybe I can meet you in person and you might consider coming back sometime to our Indiana national forest we have one of the largest forest in the country here in Indiana. Have to check out grand traverse bay area its just as beautiful
That was a nice video... 🙂
loved it keep it up
That trail over the dunes would get the big NOPE from me.
We're from Kokomo, Indiana. Most of our DNR parks are Sunday 5pm checkouts and 2pm during the week. P.S. take the guided tour on trails if you can.
Love your adventures. Question. Where did you get your National Parks Passport stamp books?
They sell them at any national park visitors center. There are a few different varieties.
There is a great restaurant in Three Oaks near Warren Dunes the Journeyman distillery .It is in an old factory that produced buggy whips and womens corsets owned by the Warrens.
Journeyman’s is rebuilding the old Anderson wiper factory in Valparaiso, to open in a year or so .

You can pick one up at any national park bookstore or visitors center.
funny stuff I could not have made it.
👌👌🤓🤓
Loved your video & I'm now a new subscriber.. hahaha
Quick question for y'all
Where did you get your stamp book?
Nooo! You can’t get in sight of the lake and not go down to touch the water 😞.

Did you guys see the "rocket pack" guy at ITMS?
Is that a new grill ?
It’s a Webber Smokey joe. ❤
