Thk you for an informative video without egotism, hem & haw, and not saying "uh," "you know," etc. I can compliment you on this presentation as I was an elementary and middle-school teacher for the 25 year prior to my retirement. Good Work!
The one big selling point for me for a small trailer is that you can fit it into alot more sites. So the flexibility of locations is huge. I'm not limited to RV parks etc.
I watched this video for nostalgic reasons. I lived full time in an RV for 7 years. My first RV was a Casita I kept it for 2 years. My only complaint was that it was not a 4 season trailer. Allow me an anecdote. It was Thanksgiving I was camped in Mimbres NM elevation around 5,700 feet ASL. I went to dinner at a friends house retuned to my Casita it was 6˚ above zero with light snow, needless to say the rig was frozen solid. I got into the sleeping bag and rose around 5 AM. As quick as I could I was heading south toward Padre Island somewhere south of El Paso the rig was thawed. Loved this well done video, and I miss the way of life. Safe Travels to all!
Oh wow! 😯 We've never camped at that temperature (and I hope we never do). Did you ever get a 4-season camper? If so, what did you get? I 'd love to go full time, but Doug is not on board. Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you are still getting out there!
@@TravelsandTravails I traded the Casita on a 22 foot Arctic Fox it was a good rig then I got a partner and she talked me into an Evergreen Everlite. We had some issues with this unit but the company stood behind the product. We left the RV life for health reasons which will keep me house bound. If I felt just a bit better I would like nothing more than to head out, in a small rig, staying near to home and that would be just fine, there is lots to see in New England. Wish you safe travels.

My mom &dad and I had a Casita in the 70's. We took that thing everywhere. We loved it. I have nothing but great memories of those times! It was so easy to hook up and go! So that's what we did 😊
The Scamp has a chipboard floor which given time will disintegrate over time rather than the Castida or Escape which have a full fiberglass shell protecting the interior all around.
Casita is the perfect fiberglass trailer for two people, considering initial cost, the value, the resale value, reliability, minimal maintenance, etc. I recently sold mine(2nd owner) and would buy another if I was in the RV market.
My husband and I are getting ready to order our first Casita Independence we would appreciate any and all helpful hints, also how to hang curtains, buy twin mattered for the twin beds. We are selling our pop up camper and so excited to get our Casita. We are seniors this should be much easier for us to travel with our little dog. Thank you, Jerry & Ellen
Congratulations! We have a video on our channel about how we hung the curtains. Lots of other helpful content as well. If your on Facebook, also check out the Casita decorators group. They have lots of curtain-hanging ideas.
we have a small camper, but we wanted to have one with 2 axles. It drives soo much smoother. Also if you have a flat tire, it does not tilt over.. These two points are very important for us.
We got our new Casita early summer last year. We made the decision after I spent nearly five years studying what I saw at campsites, rv shows and anywhere campers are seen. I talked to rv owners, watched videos, talked to rv dealers, and much more. The more I learned and the more I thought about the kind of camping I do, my new knowledge helped me to decide to go smaller, lighter, shorter and fiberglass. When you research fiberglass rvs you can narrow the search field greatly and easily. The decision to go Casita has, so far, proven to be the best for us. Good luck to those still searching and happy travels to all.
totally with you on all of your response! We are exploring too. My SIL had an airstream and we thought we were going that route and realized I don't want to buy a Pickup also! Waste! so going smaller looking at scamp and casitas. Nice to have these analyses.
Loved, loved, loved our 2018 Casita SD, which we bought new! We were staying in it 10 days a month, and planning to do more, so ordered an Escape 5.0 5th Wheel to have a little more room, and even larger black tank. Hope we made the right decision : / We ordered Escape in 0ct of ‘20 and “hope” to get it in Feb of ‘22. Sold our 3 year old Casita for exactly, too the dollar (including all upgrades) for what we paid for it before we even put it on the market. Should have asked more ; ) You are going to notice a BIG difference between the Scamp and Casita. Happy Travels!!!
@@TravelsandTravails cool I got mine used all I can Get mine don’t have a bathroom I got to got outside like a mountain man which I’m always on my own most of the time so it works if I need a shower I’ll find a Stream or go to a truckstop my 2010 crown Victoria has no problem towing it the car does get a little thirsty but it’s ok I usually camp in Gatlinburg TN or the Appalachian mountains
Thankyou for the Info. I like your video because you explain the difference between both and also give the price, that helps you have an idea of what to expect.
Thank you! Prices have gone up since this video was posted though. Here’s a comparison of most molded fiberglass trailers with current prices: travelsandtravails.com/a-comparison-of-the-top-molded-fiberglass-trailers-specifications-in-2023/
Thank you for such a good presentation. I like the Casita bed arrangement that I see behind you. I know both Scamp and Casita are excellent. I really do need a larger refrigerator, so that and the bathroom would be deciding factors for me.
You should never go through a drive through with a trailer. Good way to get stuck not being able to go forward OR backward. Ask me how I know that. I make mistakes so you don't have to. All great points about the Casita. I like the twin beds although I only need one. Saw a Fiberstream on the highway not too long ago. Now that's a NICE trailer as well.
One of our early learning experiences was getting into a Tim Horton in Nova Scotia. It could have been really bad but we dodged a bullet. After that we learned to circle first, then make a plan for parking.
I have only towed a trailer once (rental Scamp) and we decide to pull into a McD's on the drive home. Well I accidentally turned into the wrong driveway which was the drive-thru... EXIT!! So then me and my no-trailer-driving-experience got to try reversing a trailer into a two lane road. Yikes!
I’ve gone through drive thru’s with a 8.5 x 16’ trailer quite a few times. With Covid, a lot of dining rooms are closed, and they don’t want walk ups at the drive thru windows. Just know your heights, and navigate the isles with care…… no worries.
Those are great points. Casita does sound a bit better. This is better then watching an hour of other videos that just like to hear themselves talk lol
Thank you so much for the thorough talk!! I have been following the Tiny house movement on RUclips for years and have also watched the RV videos. I was interested in one in particular, but I don't see it listed anywhere. It was small, had a bathroom and place to cook. It was one of the first ones. I forgot what is was called. I can't believe how many there are now!!! This movement has really taken off!!! So glad for your talk. I really learned a lot. My one question is do you ever worry about the trailer getting away from you while on the road? What it it is very windy? They have been showing commercials on a hitch, but it was frightening watching all the accidents that happened while people were pulling their trailers!!!!
You should have checked out a Forest River Wolf Pup 16 PF, it has a 7' dinette in a slide, plus a north south bed with a sofa, much more roomie in a small package
Your caravan (as we call them over the pond) is lovely - you`ve made it look so cosy and welcoming. Those bed covers you have are gorgeous! Happy travels to you and your husband :)
OK, she could sell me anything. So honest and sincere and relatable. Thanks for the video, I hope I can find either one of these used for a good price. I'm ready to step up from my Little Guy.
What a wonderful channel. You are a natural at concise explanations and your completely relaxed demeanor makes this especially wonderful. I've been kicking around getting a small trailer for weekend getaways and for 'just in case', so I think you just tipped me over to yes. Now I have to figure out how much my car can pull. Thank you!
Are you comparing a 13' Scamp to a 17' Casita? How much difference would there have been if you went with a 16' Scamp? To be fair, that should be included in the comparison. I was told that the "deluxe" model meant that it had wooden cabinets and trim.
On a Scamp, the deluxe has the hardwood interior. On a Casita, deluxe means it has a bath. I don’t have any personal experience with the 16’ Scamp, but you make a good point. Doug says he looked at the 16’ Scamp, but it had smaller holding tanks than the Casita.
If your'e referring to deluxe with respect to the Casita in the model year we had, 2010, there was no wood to be found. It was somewhere between particle board, masonite and Medium density fiberboard. If that material gets wet for a period of time, it would swell and split. We never had an issue.
You’re right on the smaller tanks but wrong on the fridge. A Scamp 16 has the bigger fridge and better insulation. Both trailers have pros and cons. We like our permanent full size bed and dinette and wet bath. I would prefer a queen but wouldn’t personally switch to the small twins.
You are an excellent presenter. I miss small trailer camping and have nothing but fond memories from Estero Beach in the 50's and Bass Lake in the 60's. My girlfriend doesn't like cold or heat or bucket baths, so it's Motel 6 for us for the rest of the 2020's.
Sounded very interesting, but here we are a year and a half later and prices have gone through the roof. Almost $33K base price with no options puts it at closer to $36k with tax out the door. Add on some of those options and it's easy to see how $40k is now the going price.
Thank you - you have given us food for thought. We are buying a Ford Maverick truck - hauls up to 4,000-lbs and we were wanting a small trailer to start camping. Your video is helping us to make that decision. It's just the two of us. What we are really after is a small camper trailer that has a little bit of office space so my partner (she is going back to online college) can do her homework and be able to take nature breaks and for me, to get on the computer and learn more about my trade. At the same time, we would love for it to be a romantic love nest.
You're welcome! The Spirit or the Freedom might work for you because they both have a separate dining area that can be used for study/computer work. I have a video of an older Spirit: ruclips.net/video/OChP1mpm5Ws/видео.html And then you can personalize it however you want. There is a Casita decorating group on Facebook that has come up with some awesome decorating ideas. You can check out Casitas here: casitatraveltrailers.com/
What does this Casita weigh? Either I missed that, or it was left out. My 22 Outback Onyx Xt has a 3500 lbs, so that's a deciding factor in whatever camper I may buy. Thanks for the video, this type of car camping may be in my future, as it's the only way I'll ever get my wife to camp with me. I'm getting older, and setting up and breaking down camp when tent camping, is getting to be a real chore. And given that I have ZERO desire to camp in "family campgrounds" full of RVs with noisy gennys running, radios playing and kids screaming... something small enough to get to dispersed sites is a must-have capability. Thanks for making me aware of this brand.
We had a Casita Liberty, the twins are too narrow, 22 inches wide, while a residential twin is 39 inches wide. Even the Casita Independence twin is much narrower than a residential twin, something like 30 inches versus 39. Almost all the molded FG are narrow, we have owned three: vintage Trillium, Casita (sold it) and an Escape 19.
Escapes are nice trailers. Liberty twin would be too narrow for me too. I do ok in the Independence because a queen bed is 60” wide and that’s what we were sharing at home.
May I make one suggestion I’m just a trucker myself but if you really want to have plenty of ice cream and other frozen things invest in a cooler by Alpicool T60 i’m not plugging this cause I make any money off of it I’m just saying in my 22 years of driving I’ve used other ambient coolers where I couldn’t have ice cream and now I found this modestly priced refrigerator freezer that fits on my passenger seat it really works well and you don’t have to pay the same price as you would for a domestic or something that is in that same style and I also recommend hooking it to the household inverter plug the cigarette lighter plug maybe it’s the power in my truck but I’ve melted a few of those the inverter side works flawlessly
I've owned a Casita, Boler / Perris Pacer and a Scamp. Hands down the Casita is the best fiberglass trailer of the 4.If you have the money, Oliver trailers are many a great name for themselves.
I love your video, you did a great job! We were very interested in purchasing an RV but with COVID, I found out some of the top ten RV’s were suddenly on the worst RV’s to buy list. I’ve given up shopping bc I didn’t know what to buy, but after listening to your video, I might shop got a Casita…😊
If you have a smaller tow vehicle, the Casita is a good choice. We started out with a Scamp 13. A very good choice if you have a very small tow vehicle.
This was a great review: well organized, felt like talking to a friend who'd taken the camper route and wanted to share what it had to offer. Literally didn't think camper camping could be for me, but this video made it look cozy while still fun and out there in the experience. Loved the real world thoughtfulness and experiences and was nice to put the dollars and cents in too. This was so well done if you did a video blog about how to get the most from national park trips I'd subscribe!
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful. My wife and I are at a point where our Class C RV and tow car are getting to be more than we can handle and we've been thinking of going to a small trailer. My wife insists that whatever we do, it must have a bathroom. I've been leaning towards a Scamp or Casita and after watching your video I do think the Casita would probably be a better fit for us. I do like the twin bed idea because neither of us wants to crawl over the other to go to the bathroom at night (perhaps that TMI......).
We love the twin beds! The whole crawl-over was getting old. We love the size of our Casita. The whole point of camping is being outside anyway. This is the best of both worlds.
We bought our Casita Freedom deluxe in 2012. Lived full time for 18 months and put 80,000 miles on her! Family commitments put a 4 year stop to travels, but 2017 we again hit the road full time putting another 50,000 miles! Not one single issue! I did the driving and felt comfortable wherever we roamed! 30 National Parks, all 48 contiguous states and adventures too numerous to mention! We never stayed in anyplace other than our Casita. We did finally replace the toilet with a porcelain one....but full time living does increase the flushes....lol. Great quality product ❤️
The casita and scamp are both made from the same form. The owners are brothers, one brother got tired of the winters in Minnesota and opened the casita factory in Texas. Either can ve made to order and the casita/scamp ..... great trailer!
I commented earlier about my Casita( n0w sold) but the prospect of camping in the 4th season(I assume winter) doesn't appeal to most people. The Casita is not insulated unless you count the carpeted walls. It has been mentioned he Oliver is a 4 season RV. I looked on their website and although in cross section the Oliver shows an inside fiberglass wall , a mylar/bubble wrap layer (Reflectix) in the middle and a fiberglass outer shell, I could not find in the specs or other information as to what degree this RV is comfortable in cold weather, nor to what degree the water lines will not freeze. With our propane heater we camped in 0 degree weather but the water lines had been winterized. We were comfortable but we like cold weather. It was warmer than a tent by far and we were out of the weather. From that perspective it was a 4 season RV. I'd like to know from an Oliver owner their experience.
Wow - with that amount of money for the Oliver Trailer, you would think that they would have blown in insulation - NOT that flimsy, Reflectix, or whatever it is!!! Although the Oliver's look really nice on the inside...
We had 2 friends that had Casitas and they enjoyed them very much. I’ve seen the Canadian made Escapes while camping. We love how wider they are yet not as wide as a larger trailer and no screws going through to the outside to hold up the cabinets inside the the unit. Great video! Thank you
We have an Escape 5.0 and absolutely love it! It’s mid-price between the Oliver and Casita. Fiberglass is the ONLY way to go in an RV. Love your video - thank you.
Interesting video. I have a new Acura MDX that has a generous tow rating. It has a unibody construction, so I need to do a lot of research to ensure that I won’t have challenges.
One RV dealer said a RV roof should be sealed every 6 months that's too much time and work. I wonder why they said that but when I crawled on top of that new camper up the ladder and just looked at the top of the RV roof there were hundreds of holes through the roof. Obviously this is a leak waiting to happen. I've also experienced leaks and brand new cargo trailers that had to be sealed up. But I have a plan you could go for many years if not forever without sealing it. To really seal a roof even though it's gavalume - metal, aluminum or a fiberglass roof you still have stuff running through the roof AC, vent, sky light and more that will crack and leak over time. It's not if it's going to happen but when it's going to happen. What I did is I put 6"x 35' ft long aluminum on one side and sticky black tar on the other side that goes on the roof (I think they call it insulation tape.) Located in the insulation area at Lowe's for around $18 a roll. I installed it on my roof at all the seams, sky light and more so there would be no leaks down the road but at first painted it with Uncle Henry's 587 and after installing the insulation tape painted it again. Because I did have a small leak on my new cargo trailer. I'm pretty sure that's the number 587 and it's like icing batter which spreads with a paint roller or brush and for a just less than a 5 gallon pail is around $87.00 At home depot. White is the coolest color and won't get the roof as hot. this aluminum and tar tape will last for many of years down the road if not forever. It actually reminds me of dynamat sound and noise deadener but it's thinner, a lot less weight and money. Because getting water in a camper you can't see at first causes mold and is alot more time and money to fix later.
owned a casita for 5 years...it was a great investment that held its value. The only thing I didnt like was the noisy heater. I would give up efficiency in exchange for it to be silent.
Very cute! I see these on the road and they look fun, but just a little too small for me (ours is a 22 ft travel trailer with slide-out). The fiberglass models seem so much more durable though!
Very good explanation! All the facts and none of the frill. But I would have liked to have seen a little more of the trailer with your doing a voice-over, such as storage space, the kitchen area in detail (although the fridge pic was pretty good), and the outside features. I'm a person who loves detail in something like this. Good job on the bed possibilities, however. That's the kind of detail I want for the rest of the trailer. If I could live my life over, I'd have gotten one of these decades ago!
Thanks! Fortunately, I have a video of our trailer (Independence) and two other models of Casitas. Check out this playlist to see which ones you would like to see: ruclips.net/p/PLQSsBXUc5YiqnGxukxjGQT-GYsmUPemMT And hey, NOW IS THE TIME! I don't regret one single minute spent in this Casita. Also, if there is something else you would like to see, let me know!
Although both Casita & Scamp are adorable, when you have little kids, you should never have to choose between a bathroom and bunk beds. Kids need extra beds, and they also have to go to the bathroom frequently! Casita & Scamp both need to realize that kids need BOTH bathrooms and bunk beds!!! I hope Casita will see this comment and design one like that.
I had a Casita for a short while. After I bought it, I thoroughly checked it out and found the frame was so light it would deflect with little weight on it. So, I sold it in a minute as I did not want to have a frame failure while I owned it. All the features in the world are not worth a major failure going down the hiway.
Enjoyed this great video very much! As you know, we are Escape owners & we agree with all your well spoken points. Very nice comparison! Have a wonderful weekend! -Jody
Great video. Thanks for making and sharing it. I visited the Casita factory in February of 2020, before the pandemic actually kicked in. I had been trailer shopping for over a year. I put it on hold when things started getting weird, and now regret that decision. I think the current waiting period is 6 plus months long. How long did you guys have to wait?
@@TravelsandTravails Haven't bought one yet, that's what I regret. I got a T@G XL Boondock Lite (2020) used last February. A nice camper on wheels, with a rear kitchen. But want to get a walk-in trailer for long trips, and the Casita is still my favorite. So one day...
Thank you, I'm a subscriber and enjoy your how-to videos. If you ever get down to San Antonio, I'd be pleased to be a tour guide! Plenty of nice campgrounds in the area, especially just north in the hill country.
Great video! Straight to the point. It would take some or most people 30 minutes to say what you did in less than 10 minutes!! I’m gonna check out Casina trailers
Nice video. We owned an Oliver for a few years and sold it, not losing any money on it at all. Such great trailers, just a little small for us. Love watching videos about other fiberglass trailers. We are now looking into a Bigfoot 25. We may wait a few years until we retire, but our love of camping and fiberglass trailers make videos like this interesting. I would consider a Casita if it had a dry bath. Just something I feel I need. More power to those who are fine with a wet bath as they get the better priced trailers.
@@TravelsandTravails I was kind of hesitant too I didn't want to deal with cleaning and the smell let alone the sanitary issues but after 3 weekend trailrides camping in a tent those issues haven't come up emptying the chamber is fast and not messy or smelly hooking up a blackwater hose is way worse
Nice, genuine review of the Casita. I enjoyed your video! The Casita was my second choice, and I was planning to purchase new. However, I was lucky and found one of the last remaining new Parkliners right at the time COVID started in Apr 2020, so there wasn’t a price mark up. Happy camping!
Environmental hazard I guess they send the black water tank water to a special place so that it does not get into the ground or air. You wouldn't want that getting into the groundwater. I hope people only think I was joking
Hi. How long have you been rving in this model? Do you need solar panels when you are boondocking? I think part of the expense of the oliver is the solar package.
Good review. After looking at two reviews of some new trailers, I was shocked at the %50k price. I am into RC glider and the Casita would work out great for hauling my gliders in and stil allow me room to sleep, without breaking the bank.
@@TravelsandTravails Thank you for an excellent review. I looked at both Casita and Oliver. They serve very different markets. I picked up my Oliver a few months ago. The carpet in the Casita was a deal breaker for me plus the quality of two interiors is very different. Lastly the construction is very different. While both are fiberglass Casita is single hull and Oliver is double hull. Enjoy your new trailer.
Like the Casita my Oliver is narrow at only 7 feet wide which I love. I tow with F150 and it tows beautifully and very easy to see around with normal mirrors. The enclosed tanks and lack of access to interior by critters is really nice. Lots of interior storage and the twin bed layout is awesome. I would have preferred a dry bath but I wanted to stay under 24 feet and that just wasn’t an option for a fibreglass trailer. Lastly the clean modern interior is just want I wanted as I am not a fan of heavy wood look.
@@EverettSchoolBoard Both the Scamp and the Casita have a wet bath that includes a toilet and a shower in the same compartment, so the toilet does get wet.

Same%!
Congratulations! Happy trails.

Love the 5.0! I love that big bed and all the living space! Good choice!
Having brakes and a controller added was the best upgrade I made for my Jeep XJ/ Trillium 1300 combination
Wonderful job of narrating: Concise, clear, thoroughly covered the subject matter. Well done.
Thanks so much!
Here’s a comparison of most molded fiberglass trailers with current prices: travelsandtravails.com/a-comparison-of-the-top-molded-fiberglass-trailers-specifications-in-2023/
This is one of the best and refreshing RV Trailer videos I’ve seen in years!
You are wonderful!
Keep up the good production! 🎥
Thanks so much!
Incredibly helpful video, thanks for taking the time to make it!
You are so welcome! Happy trails!
Thank you for such a good presentation. I like the Casita bed arrangement that I see behind you. I know both Scamp and Casita are excellent. I really do need a larger refrigerator, so that and the bathroom would be deciding factors for me.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for not asking to subscribe before the video even starts!!
I have subscribed to you!!
Thank you for subscribing!
Thanks Larry! Yes. Love the Fibersteam. We just drove by a Parkliner. So many fiberglass trailers on the road!
Yikes!
Oh no! 🤭
Awe, thanks!😁
You’re welcome! We have the Andersen weight distribution hitch so no, we don’t worry. It makes a huge difference.
You should have checked out a Forest River Wolf Pup 16 PF, it has a 7' dinette in a slide, plus a north south bed with a sofa, much more roomie in a small package
My sister and brother-in-law were looking at that one and one of our boys is looking at a wolf pup, but I'm not sure which floor plan.
Your caravan (as we call them over the pond) is lovely - you`ve made it look so cosy and welcoming. Those bed covers you have are gorgeous! Happy travels to you and your husband :)
Thank you so much! Happy travels.
Excellent video presentation. Covered all my questions and concerns in owning and operating a camping trailer.
Thank you!
OK, she could sell me anything. So honest and sincere and relatable. Thanks for the video, I hope I can find either one of these used for a good price. I'm ready to step up from my Little Guy.
You are so welcome! I hope you find one too. They are out there.
I'd have to get something like this trailer in order to camp. Love this! This lady is a very genuine speaker. Love it.
Awe thanks! Hope you get one!
Thank you!
You’re welcome! Good luck in your new trailer search!
Sorry, but not at all as expected or did I find it worthy of what I choose to view in getting an informative insight to a travel trailer.
I wish I saw this a month ago!! Just picked up a different brand and this is so cute and seems sturdy
@@katbas44 So , what did u go with & will u b happy with it ??
I'm in the market for a fiberglass travel trailer and new to them. Thank you for a very helpful comparison to get me started.
You’re welcome!
We had a 13’ Scamp, hence the smaller fridge.
We have a large trailer but always have had a sweet spot in my heart for one of these. Excellent review and great job of editing
Thank you!
Thanks! At least you’re traveling! Happy trails!
Sounded very interesting, but here we are a year and a half later and prices have gone through the roof. Almost $33K base price with no options puts it at closer to $36k with tax out the door. Add on some of those options and it's easy to see how $40k is now the going price.
The price increase is crazy! You could find a nice use one for much less.
@Lee Rutter Are you getting hybrid or ecoBoost Maverick? When do you take delivery?
I'm here because we have a Maverick on order as well.
The GVWR is 3500 lbs. You’re so welcome! We have gotten so much enjoyment out of this camper!
Would that work for my groceries?
@@TravelsandTravails yes absolutely
I've owned a Casita, Boler / Perris Pacer and a Scamp. Hands down the Casita is the best fiberglass trailer of the 4.If you have the money, Oliver trailers are many a great name for themselves.
Well said!
We too have the ID and have it setup like a liberty with the east/west bed. The deeper couch is a nice setup more like a lounge.
What a great idea! I wouldn't have thought of that. Casitas are so flexible.
Thank you so much for this presentation. You did a fantastic job! You provided great information and stayed focused on the topic.
You're very welcome!
You did an awesome job on this video. Loaded with useful information! Lou
Thank you! 💕
I like that there's over 6ft headroom in these things!
Isn't it great!
Awe, thanks! Maybe someday I’ll make a convert out of you! Would be great to see you on the road.
Fabulous! I’m green with envy.
That sounds lovely! ❤️
The casita and scamp are both made from the same form. The owners are brothers, one brother got tired of the winters in Minnesota and opened the casita factory in Texas. Either can ve made to order and the casita/scamp ..... great trailer!
Agreed! Both are great trailers. I’m glad we got our Scamp when we did. There is a time and season for everything.
Me too!
Wow - with that amount of money for the Oliver Trailer, you would think that they would have blown in insulation - NOT that flimsy, Reflectix, or whatever it is!!!
Although the Oliver's look really nice on the inside...
@@meredithheath5272 I agree with everthing you said. I wish an Oliver owner would comment.
love the two twin bed design. rialta had this feature in their rvs. good vid, thumbs up
Thanks! We love them too. 💕
We had 2 friends that had Casitas and they enjoyed them very much. I’ve seen the Canadian made Escapes while camping. We love how wider they are yet not as wide as a larger trailer and no screws going through to the outside to hold up the cabinets inside the the unit. Great video! Thank you
You’re welcome!
Casitas trailer
We have an Escape 5.0 and absolutely love it! It’s mid-price between the Oliver and Casita. Fiberglass is the ONLY way to go in an RV. Love your video - thank you.
Escape makes a nicely sized fifth wheel too.
TY for posting. We are trading our trailer for an Escape this year. I think Casita's are fine but just a little too small for us.
Congrats! Great trailers.
Interesting video. I have a new Acura MDX that has a generous tow rating. It has a unibody construction, so I need to do a lot of research to ensure that I won’t have challenges.
I missed what you said. Which trailer can I have ice cream? I don't really need it but I love it..hehe.. game changer for me..
The Casita 17! If you get the bigger Scamp, the 16 or 19, you can also have ice cream.
Great vid, your right about the escape 23. My fav and it has double axles. No way I would travel out west on a single axle.
Love it!
Wow sounds like a good upgrade from what was a good trailer. Happy trails 👍🏻 Also I agree with Gill
There just aren’t any bad choices with molded fiberglass.
She's funny!
Thanks, enjoyed watching.
Thanks!
Thanks! Informative and you have a great video presence and a great speaking style. You made me smile. From a Westphalia camper!
Awe, thanks so much!
It is SO loud. It makes it hard to sleep at night with it going.
Very cute! I see these on the road and they look fun, but just a little too small for me (ours is a 22 ft travel trailer with slide-out). The fiberglass models seem so much more durable though!
I totally get it. Must be nice to have the extra space.
Not only way more durable but the resale value is excellent !!!!
The only 40 yr old campers you see still on the road are fiberglass or airstream !
I'm interested in the casitas it looks nice, but if you can video the under frame of the trailer to see how sturdy if the steel frame. Thank you.
If you email me, I'll send you photos: travelsandtravails@yahoo.com
Wow, I really like your new trailer! Looks like you made a very smart purchase!
Thanks!
Agreed.
I’ll tell you why you got out of scamp and got a Casita, you are smart!
Thanks!
Great video, you have sold me on the Casita!
Awesome! Great trailers.
I had a Casita for a short while. After I bought it, I thoroughly checked it out and found the frame was so light it would deflect with little weight on it. So, I sold it in a minute as I did not want to have a frame failure while I owned it. All the features in the world are not worth a major failure going down the hiway.
I have not heard that complaint before.
Enjoyed this great video very much! As you know, we are Escape owners & we agree with all your well spoken points. Very nice comparison! Have a wonderful weekend! -Jody
Awe thanks thanks Jody. Still hoping for that Escape 23 that I will never get. No worries. We have our Casita.
I agree with the difference, thank u for the comparison. And pulling the Casita with a small car…
Thanks!
We bought ours used. Did you buy something else?
@@TravelsandTravails Haven't bought one yet, that's what I regret. I got a T@G XL Boondock Lite (2020) used last February. A nice camper on wheels, with a rear kitchen. But want to get a walk-in trailer for long trips, and the Casita is still my favorite. So one day...
6 months is nothing we own a Taylor Coach if we wanted a new one built it's 3 years !!!
😳
@@Timeforchangenow Yeah, I was wrong. Apparently it is up to 18 months now. But your point is taken. Thanks.
Love the Idea of two twin beds!!! nice. A game changer for sure.
I think so too!
Never use the trailer pluming if the camp ground has regular toilets and showers.
Do you use the campground restroom in the middle of the night? I’ve done that and find it frightening. Especially in bear county.
LOL!! "A Casita just goes along with you" Like other trailers have a mind of their own and go where THEY want to go. LOL!! She cracked me up.
They go where their towed!
Thanks for the review, enjoyed watching.

You’re welcome!
Great video! Straight to the point. It would take some or most people 30 minutes to say what you did in less than 10 minutes!! I’m gonna check out Casina trailers
Awe, thanks!
I’m on board with the dry bath and walk-around bed! But love our Casita for now.
I actually think less is more . Just me 😁
The twin bed thing was a good point about the Casita,a composting toilet is simply better than a black water tank.
I would be on board with a composting toilet. I think we could stay out longer. But my husband, not so much.
Thank you! Enjoy. Happy trails.
I do have ice cream in my Scamp 😁 6.1 cf fridge. But I got a 16ft Deluxe. I would have got a Casita but a little to short to stand up in for me.
Very nice! Ice cream is essential!
We’ve had it four years. We mostly dry camp. Doug added solar over a year ago. It’s been a lifesaver for us. Now our limiting factor is water.
you had me at Ice Cream
Good review. After looking at two reviews of some new trailers, I was shocked at the %50k price. I am into RC glider and the Casita would work out great for hauling my gliders in and stil allow me room to sleep, without breaking the bank.
They are a fantastic bargain for what you get.
After seeing this, why would anybody ever own a Scamp?????No comparison.
The Scamp weighs less and you can tow with a smaller vehicle.
I'm still finding a Little Guy teardrop trailer to be working for me. It's luxurious for someone like me who is used to backpacking.
Does it have in it or can you put in it a Fantastic Fan??? Bath must have some sort of a vent??
Yes, it does have fantastic fan. There is a also a small vent fan in the bathroom.
@@TravelsandTravails Thank you for an excellent review. Thanks for the presentation and analysis.. Good job
Thank you!
No microwave no oven, and no air conditioning for over $25K what a joke.
Thanks! How do you like your Oliver? What do you love? What would you change?
Like the Casita my Oliver is narrow at only 7 feet wide which I love. I tow with F150 and it tows beautifully and very easy to see around with normal mirrors. The enclosed tanks and lack of access to interior by critters is really nice. Lots of interior storage and the twin bed layout is awesome. I would have preferred a dry bath but I wanted to stay under 24 feet and that just wasn’t an option for a fibreglass trailer. Lastly the clean modern interior is just want I wanted as I am not a fan of heavy wood look.
Love the interior and the narrow profile. Dry bath would put it in my sights.
@@TravelsandTravails You guys what is a "dry bath"? No shower? Or is it a self contained shower so the bathroom doesn't get wet?
@@EverettSchoolBoard Both the Scamp and the Casita have a wet bath that includes a toilet and a shower in the same compartment, so the toilet does get wet.
