Starting in a new country, I went where the opportunites are. I was single then, and the presence of Pinoys or availability of pinoy goods were not issues for me. My first job was in a small town of 5000 people. As I moved up the career ladder, Bigger cities provides better opportunities career wise.
@team soliman. naku po! 600 for the spring? we just had our spring broken but I just paid 150 all in here in toronto. regards to spot pinoy and it was nice meeting everybody here in toronto
Mababa po ang gastos if you are away from the cities. Same here I lived in an isolated area in BC and the closest small town is approx. 2 - 3 hrs ang layo sa amin. The biggest city is approx. 6 hrs away. And I am the only filipino din po dito.
Good topic, real talk experience ng pamilyang galing sa small town to big city. Dito sa SK, around $257 monthly ang binabayaran ko sa 2 sasakyan (kasama na autopak), with a $100 deductible and $2M accidental coverage each vehicle.
Autopac is term lng ng SGi saskatchewan boss mark. Bale sa ibang province like alberta its also known as comprehensive or two way insurance.
18 years na kami dito at never na involve sa any trouble. All my children have university degree and professional and very simple and humble.
Renting provides greater flexibility while owning results in greater financial reward, tho have a Capital Gain Tax when you sell it?ala naman ang gain mo 700 or 1m is no 50% Tax unless ipamana mo sa anak or when you sell dnt cash out upgrade new property.. Personally, I prefer to RENT so that i can live a more flexible lifestyle rather becoming prisoners of our own possessions. especially in today's world where PERMANENT or Stable jobs are rare. Job layoffs has become common. We learned these uncertainties during the COVID-19 lockdown So Life feels even heavier when you have ongoing Mortgage or Car payments + insurance,
There is no capital gains tax on the sale of a primary residence. If you have a second property and sell it, 50% of the profit will be subject to capital gains tax. So if you sell a condo investment in Vancouver and the profit is $100,000, 50% of that $100,000 ($50,000) will be taxed at 12% which is $6,000.
In my opinion, if can afford it you are still better off buying a house. Although the cost of keeping the house will be higher, you building equity and the value of the house in going up. Renting is money to the drain. My two cents.
does it matter LOL yung mga maralitang taga lungsod sa metro manila sa ilalim ng tutay ang home they are not complaining kung nasa liveable city sila / DIOS ko dati kayong taga pinas makuntento na alng kayo kung ano ang meron kayo LOL

How come Calgary is top 4 in the most liveable cities in the world higher than Vancouver w/ rank of top 5?
Because it really is ❤ mataas ang cost of living sa Vancouver.
