This brief snippet, 40+ years old, made me tear up. "Barney Miller" was a quiet, lovely show with beautiful characters. How the universe works: Ron Glass, as Harris, got to speak the words "Something special happened here." How could we have known that the same actor, passed away too soon, would have another role of equally great depth and humanity, on a TV show 20 years later, also gone too soon, in which the exact same words apply? "Something special happened here."
Sounds trite to say, but they don't make 'em like this anymore. The actors worked as a unit, sometimes doing scenes until 4 or 5 in the morning, just to get it perfect. In later years, they all looked back fondly with pride on the series. Still entertaining now, fifty years on, as it was then. Thanks, men!
Awesome show,one of a kind
Wish more great TV classics went out that way MASH is the only other one I can think of
Mary Tyler Moore finale was a classic.
What a sad farewell. These guys really were family.
