Yes but it depends on how far off it is. A compression gauge will NOT show a accurate number due to the decompression valve. Cranking with the throttle wide open you'll be around 75+
@@willyorraw5480 verify the markings line up, make sure you have spark, & proper fuel/air. With a compression gauge youd probably get around 70-90 psi due to the decompression gauge
here 2help we did all that still no good we changed rings placed them in the right spot new gaskets when we changed piston we cheked aswell for a worn out cylinder but it was good so idk what to do now .
@@willyorraw5480 any hairline stress cracks in the piston? Also the cylinder is suppose to have very fine 45 degree scratches from the honing tool. If its glazed you have blow by and low compression. Also make sure your carb is tuned right and you're getting spark. Maybe hit it with a shot of starter fluid and raise the rpm adjustment of the carb to see if you can get a sign of life. But once again triple check the timing Marks. I've seen alot of cases where things were off by 1 tooth and had it not running correctly
If the timing is off from the fly wheel, will it still build compression?

@@ApexPowerSportsllc I line the fly wheel up with the dot instead of the line
If your timing is off you will risk bending a valve and possibly destroying your whole motor
@@ApexPowerSportsllc ok thanks
I changed my piston and forgot to put the marks right and it wont run and idk what to do
Hopefully nothing is damaged but I'd suggest putting the timing marks to the stock specs and giving it a shot
I did put them stock and i tried to start but it just backfired alot like a gunshot
