I think most of us would have guessed him to be that kind of good guy even before hearing this story. It's amazing how we can pick up on certain character cues from completely unrelated content.
IMO either LPL should have waited until Bill made an update post of his own to say goodbye before jumping the shark here, or Bill is a bit of a jerk for not saying bye himself. I get not wanting to devote so much time to producing a schedule of videos, but it doesn't take that long to pop out one last 5 minute video.
BosnianBill takes in a friends children after one parent dies and the other is hospitalized with COVID. Can I just say that is EXACTLY the type of guy many of his fans envisioned him as. Talk about such a good dude to do that for a family in need! I hope that inspires lots of us to be BETTER.

LPL and Bosnian Bill's lock they designed was eventually produced and using this new tool, I opened my first Disc Detainer lock. These had been my bane for months before purchasing this tool and I nearly cried with joy. I'm disabled and sport picking is one of the few things I can still do. I never became very good, but I still practice and love the sport that LPL and Bill introduced to me through these RUclips videos. Hats off to both these legends and a heartfelt happy retirement to Bill: As a great grandmother, I can affirm that nothing is more important than family.
That's such an astute realization by Bill. I almost died from covid (no health issues, kinda young) and it definitely woke me up to various parts of my life that just didn't matter. Staring possible death in the face will do that. Cheers Bill! Thanks for everything you contributed.

When this landed on my feed, (27th September 2021) I was seriously ill with covid, in fact it really did very nearly kill me. As a result, my wee thank u to Bill, and to LPL (because it was LPL who introduced me to Bill's channel, without him, I may never have found it) is about 18 months late coming. During an extended stay in hospital recently one of your videos popped up in my news feed. I was so fascinated that for the 3 weeks I spent in hospital I binge watched your channel, Bosnian Bill and Lock Noob. The end result was that by the time I left hospital I had a new hobby and a few hundred dollars worth of lock picking toys on order. I’m still very much at the start of a steep learning curve, but I am starting get a feel for locks so the 3 channels listed above have become part of my every day routine. All I can say is a big thank you to all 3 of you guys, I appreciate all your guidance. I for one will miss Bosnian Bill’s videos. 😊🇦🇺
You guys know why I like LPL? I am not particularly interested in picking locks, but the length of his videos. In three minutes he told about Bill, his situation and all of that, AND he picked a lock. In an era of hugely stretched RUclips videos, these are such a treat. Short, precise, informative, fun. But relaxing and calm, at the same. I really hope that more tubers would downsize their videos... I wish good times for Bosnian Bill, and Mr Lawyer.
He's a heaven sent angel, a true blessing upon mankind, those who can't see that are truly blind. A voice so sweet and mild, gentle like the softness of a pillow, soothing like the wind through willow, if one day he passes, my tears will be thick as molasses, now he shares his time his kin and friend, for us all a sad but happy end. The crazy thing is that this is his third retirement. He was an EOD expert in the military. When he retired from that he became a security specialist at the FBI. When he retired from that he became a youtuber. When he retired from that he became a family man... eye.. I think it's time his family get him to themselves. He has done... enough..

I noticed a thing during this video: When referencing the Detainer Pick, we just have 'The Pick' instead of 'The Pick that Bosnian Bill and I made'. It would be uncomfortable to reference a meaningful and memorable partnership with adventures and misadventures alike when it has become the past, a past that definitely will not return, and a past that is all the more heart-wrenching when what had been going on well for so many years stopped short on this day. It will no longer be 'Bosnian Bill and I' anymore. You can even hear the hesitation in the Lawyer's voice as he stops short at the familiar phrase and suddenly perceives all the sentiment and memories behind it. I hope Bill will lead an affluent and comfortable life after his retirement, and I hope he can look back at everything and say that it was worth it , it was fun and it was a majestic experience.

I haven't personally watched any of his videos, but I do know him through LPL and Modern Rogue. This is the first time that a RUclipsr has legitimately retired from RUclips and not left RUclips to get a different job.

I'm sad to see him go but there's nothing more important than family. He's more than earned this retirement and his knowledge will always live on in his channel and the people who've learned from it
The crazy thing is that this is his third retirement. He was an EOD expert in the military. When he retired from that he became a security specialist at the FBI. When he retired from that he became a youtuber. When he retired from that he became a family man... eye.. I think it's time his family get him to themselves. He has done... enough..

It took a forced time out from making videos to make realize him he needed and wanted to spend more time with family. It could end up as being a needed extended vacation. Picking locks challenges his mind.

I noticed a thing during this video:
When referencing the Detainer Pick, we just have 'The Pick' instead of 'The Pick that Bosnian Bill and I made'. It would be uncomfortable to reference a meaningful and memorable partnership with adventures and misadventures alike when it has become the past, a past that definitely will not return, and a past that is all the more heart-wrenching when what had been going on well for so many years stopped short on this day. It will no longer be 'Bosnian Bill and I' anymore. You can even hear the hesitation in the Lawyer's voice as he stops short at the familiar phrase and suddenly perceives all the sentiment and memories behind it.
I hope Bill will lead an affluent and comfortable life after his retirement, and I hope he can look back at everything and say that it was worth it , it was fun and it was a majestic experience.

It's truly the heyday of educational videos on RUclips, and it's waning as 'the algorithm' changes and more videos sacrifice content for attention grabs. I'm sure there will be good content still created for the future, but it's a little sad to see one of the old guard go. Thanks LPL for sharing BosnianBill's story.

My wife died on Aug 1st from Covid... she was a nurse... and vaccinated. However, she had leukemia. So the immune system was weak.
