Good video about using everything you can to make an improvised weapon more effective. I personally dislike karambits but this was a solid video based on fighting not tricking
This was informative. I have extensive martial arts experience, short blades included, and just recently picked up a fixed blade Karambit and trainer for the first time. I do have a question though. Since my Karambit is single edge, would it then be at all logical to use the blunt outer edge as a striking end to say, the temple or a hard joint or sensitive nerve cluster??
If the blade is thick, otherwise i would suggest using the ring instead as blunt force hammer punch with the karambit ring in the little finger, with the blade in a standard grip going out by the thumb/index finger for power slashes with the support of the thumb behind the blade aswell, reach is also slightly longer than in reverse grip then. Got 8 years escrima experiance.
It seems to me that flipping it could cause it to strike with the spine, which could then cause the business side to bounce back and catch the wielder.
I "The Man From Nowhere" Cha is holding Ramrowan's hand which is holding the Karambit, so Ramrowan flips it backwards cutting Cha and forcing him to let go. ruclips.net/video/sMbvBCigyzo/видео.html Watch in in 0.25 speed cuz it happens really fast.
The real problem is when u flip, you show to enemy the handle than he can take it and broke you finger like the other boy have the opportunity to do in this video
Forgive me, but I see no reason to waste time "Flipping" a Karambit. Ive never been in a Knife fight where tricks helped me. You go to work, slice, dice and run
Real trainers are cheap. Using that FGX Karambit is asking for trouble. Just because it's made of plastic doesn't mean it wasn't designed to cut, injure and wound.
The problem when u flip u lose grip and power and u risk to be disarmed
What you mean?
@@dkobradand8635 it leaves the whole grip open
I’m thinking the same thing. Not safe.
It is effective if it's double edge but if you want effective dont flip it and stay in your grip

Yes. In one of his other videos, he flicks his karambit out in a whip-like style in one of the steps of his set
I would say, so because by hitting the temple you could knock someone out

thats why you get a double edged one
First reason: it looks sick as hell
I’m making a karambit with only a hacksaw a file a vice and metal with a drill
you don't just need the index finger to use this weapon, you can also you a pinky finger grip. I've used it
@yesv I think he's dead
The grip with the index finger is canned reverse grip the other grip is called the standard grip
What about the other hand?
I love the karambit
liar

The problem is that your finger doesn’t have the strength to keep the cut using the ring extension grip, so it’s useless.
The real problem is when u flip, you show to enemy the handle than he can take it and broke you finger like the other boy have the opportunity to do in this video
Another problem is that you do lose grip like @Alex said but u might cut yourself
By just watching this I can say that this modified farm tool is really fatal. Damn, I don't even want to cut the neck of my enemy, that's absurd.
If there's someone attacking you why wouldn't you
