I've never understood stacks. They always sound like a couple of old baking trays to me. Seems like a good way to take two nice cymbals and then choke out everything that made them great 🤷♂️
I agree that it doesn’t make sense stacking 2 top of the line cymbals. Most can achieve a similar sound with mid grade cymbals. Stacks are necessary- just not sure high end stacks are.
Luke and Meinl are always at the forefront of innovation and have stepped up the game once again. I have to get this!
Not really but whatever you think.
So sick. Love it!
The kit, the cymbals, the playing... Fantastic!!
Stacks seem to be slowly replacing splash cymbals and Im all for it.
What about…stacking splash cymbals! 🤯
@@joshkirkwoodrealty3643 that’s what I have! 12” trash splash with a 10” brilliant splash on top 👍🏼
Pretty cool how the evolution of cymbals actually affects the evolution of music genres.
I use stacks TOGETHER with splashes --u get some interesting sound combos
Well used splash cymbals will always be relevant, ie Carter Beauford or Manu Katche.
This guys a bad man! Unreal technique
Love that that guys playing.
can't wait for mine to arrive!
Have broken my last two splashes but I think I have improved knowing when not to hit hard. This stack is so good, want one.
Anyone know the full cymbal setup in use? I’d love to recreate this crispy sound (and then utterly fail at reproducing the beats).
Returning to the sound of my first cymbol…
Best cymbals in the biz
wish I could have it ! so awesome !
Ohh come ooon!! I just got paid!!
What’s the small stack to his left? Just over the hihat and under the crash
what is the other stack at his far right?
That's Luke's other signature cymbal with us - the Artist Concept Model Bullet Stack.
What is that Ride cymbal?

They are definitely a more unique sound that doesn’t fit in every genre. No shame in having a different taste in sounds as well!

@@mathewreed818 Absolutely right! One of my best sounding stacks is a very old "Rancan" by LP china on top and a Camber crash cymbal at the bottom.
@@mathewreed818 yes, this makes more sense.
@@mathewreed818 absolutely right. The best stacks I’ve played are two broken cymbals stacked on top of eachother.
That kick sounds dull and dead
