      Love watching your work. One question though, I'm super confused how you got such a clear hamon without claying the blade? Or did you perhaps do a clay treatment in a separate heat treatment off camera? Thanks, and amazing work!

    That is such a cool choice of materials for everything. I love how the grain of the carbon fiber really shines with all that shaping. It really does look great against the finer grain of the blade.

      Heck, even the way he turned the grain looks great. It did hurt to seem him heat that tang back up. He did keep the heat away from the blade but still.

    I've been binge watching wood working and knife making videos for the past week. I must say this particular Bokuto Knife is the most beautiful thing I've seen so far. The exterior as well as the steel texture... Just mesmerizing . I hope the steel is as sharp as it looks and stays that way. That's a piece of sculpture.

  • @ObeyCamp
    @ObeyCamp 3 года назад +5

    The pattern is astounding, but Wootz steel-the actual, _true_ Damascus steel-is a specific type of *crucible steel* whereas this, like all of RUclips's "Damascus" videos, is pattern welding.

    Crucible steel is not inherently wootz. Wootz is a specific type of ore that has very specific properties that are impossible to recreate by melting chainsaw chain with carbon and glass. Nice work, but calling it Wootz Damascus is disingenuous.

    What are you doing your hand sanding with? I'm just curious. You are the only one I've see doing that method. The knife is absolutely amazing. Keep making great blades and great content

    En verdad, realizo un hermoso trabajo, el manejo del metal y la forma que le dio, es una de las mas parecidas al cuchillo tanto japonés, y definitivamente el acabado que le dio esta muy bien, solo la separación de la funda y el mango hubieran quedado o visto mucho mejor a la vista en metal
    Felicidades por su trabajo
