STOP reading headlines & read up on the case. Jonathan Majors ADMITTED through TEXT that he physically assaulted that girl & tried to convince her to not seek medical attention because he didn’t want authorities questioning her in fear of losing his career. Her chasing him doesn’t erase guilt.
Those texts were from a past incident, not the night or injuries in question. So he likely has a history of abuse which is why I’m not caping for him but he wasn’t being charged for those past incidents. While those texts are character evidence, it’s not evidence that he’s guilty of what he was charged for in March.
I can't take Jonathan serious for multiple reasons. Mainly, look who's suing him and then look who he's going to court with, 🤔... I guess "we're" only useful at his convenience.
So with Johnathan Majors, his ex-girlfriend didn't file the charges. The state of NY did because they suspected that he injured her. It's incredibly obvious that he was physically and psychologically abusive to her after looking at the text messages presented for the case. I'm pretty sure that they found they could not determine that he was guilty of hurting her in THIS particular instance, but the jury knew he was an abusive person. They likely just gave him those lesser charges just so the information in the case is on record legally. That would make it easier to make sure he's reprimanded for any charges against him in the future if/when he abuses his next girlfriend.

However, once you jump to a certain level of entry in the entertainment industry as a talent, get ready for the craziness and the BS if you want to become a household name, big or small. I'm assuming the Jury was able to see and hear things we weren't told about that informed their decision.

I don’t know if you saw some of the interviews he did on late night talk shows and such but they took place about 1 1/2 -2 years ago where he was basically talking about some very strange, dark stuff regarding his emotional & mental state at the time. He even spoke of having this impending fear that his career wouldn’t last and that death was approaching. He seemed to be in a very dark place both mentally & emotionally. I think he also mentioned having experienced a traumatic childhood as well. It was sad & disturbing as his career was just taking off.

So with Johnathan Majors, his ex-girlfriend didn't file the charges. The state of NY did because they suspected that he injured her. It's incredibly obvious that he was physically and psychologically abusive to her after looking at the text messages presented for the case. I'm pretty sure that they found they could not determine that he was guilty of hurting her in THIS particular instance, but the jury knew he was an abusive person.
They likely just gave him those lesser charges just so the information in the case is on record legally. That would make it easier to make sure he's reprimanded for any charges against him in the future if/when he abuses his next girlfriend.
Finally someone with some sense commenting on this case. Grace didnt even want to press charges it was the state of New York!

Empressive, I am completely with you as far as your commenting that you don’t think Jonathan is altogether there. I don’t know if you saw some of the interviews he did on late night talk shows and such but they took place about 1 1/2 -2 years ago where he was basically talking about some very strange, dark stuff regarding his emotional & mental state at the time. He even spoke of having this impending fear that his career wouldn’t last and that death was approaching. He seemed to be in a very dark place both mentally & emotionally. I think he also mentioned having experienced a traumatic childhood as well. It was sad & disturbing as his career was just taking off.

As for the trial evidence, if it was solely based on what happened that evening, he would have been acquitted. What Majors and his lawyers failed to predict was the impact his prior actions with this woman would have on the jury. He should have taken the plea bargain and publicly apologized (whether he believed it or not) for her alleged injuries. At least that would have resulted in a fine and community service, as well as him maintaining his deal with Disney. Now that he's been convicted, Disney opted to drop him. It's a sad situation because he was a rising star.

People who stay in abusive relationships are often scared to leave, but they are also often scared *to be left*. There are a lot of behaviors like this that you will see in people, especially women, who have been abused.

There are people who chase after their abuser and don't want to leave them. That's a fact. There are people who want nothing to do with their abuser and run at the first chance. That is also a fact.
People have this false idea in their heads that if you're being abused, it means you have to be constantly cowering in fear, crying and shuddering in a corner. Same way people think it doesn't count as rape unless you're screaming in pain, being beaten and held at gunpoint. The way this shit happens is NOT how it looks in the movies and it's a lot more complicated than that, but people don't wanna hear it and only think you should come forward if you're on the verge of death, and even then, some people are gonna say that "you must've done something to deserve it"

I’m so glad I watched this video becauseI had absolutely no idea about all the extra details. I watched the topic being covered on inside edition and the way it was edited it made it seem like she was actually really going through a lot of abuse, but I had no idea they left this part of the story out. Part of me think that was kinda the point. In a way I think she alleged all this horrible stuff because she knew how it would look on his part. Especially since he just lost his deal with Marvel so you know he’s gonna be in the headlines more. Regardless this is a sad situation and I’m interested to see what happens next
Everyone seems to be bashing him but for some reason I'm just not on that type of time. Even if he was with a white woman which used to be a point of contingency for me when it comes to black men. For some reason there's some grace in my heart for him. I can't turn on him like I would another Black man in this situation. He really got F'd over! BAD! And everywhere I Go the press is making him out to be a bad guy then I see all kind of videos bashing him for various reasons, either because they did not follow the case and went off the headlines and thinks that he's an abuser. Or because he got with a white woman. Which is strange because a lot of these BWE RUclipsrs have been telling black women to expand their options and/or even just date a white man altogether. Which for me I actually do agree with well I think that black women should date who loves them. The problem is that if you're telling black women to date out or expand their options then you can't get that mad at a black man dating a white woman. I'm not really that mad at that I'm willing to look over that and say that this situation is messed up.
