- Did you know that in the Inside Out 2? In the movie, Riley's favorite girl group has a trend of red hair highlights. Inspired by the group, Riley dyes her hair red too. Interestingly, one muslim member of the group wears a headscarf, and it's not shown if her hair is dyed. To match the group's style, she wears a red cloth underneath her headscarf.

Yes bc Muslims can’t show their hair so she wore that red “cloth” to still support or join the group

As someone who sees her friends getting abused and threatened because she didn't want to wear it, I hate how the Western world (specially USA) glorify it.
These movies make it even more difficult for girls and women who refuses to wear it.
@@genzi78514Yes, that is the unfortunate nature of cultural representation, and geopolitics. There are always two sides that could be considered equally important that conflict with one another. But that’s the problem with our world, you can’t make everyone happy. In this case, we want to respect cultures and be inclusive, but at the same time, we risk upsetting people such as your friend.
Like putting dreadlocks on an African-American character. One group is happy for the representation, while another group views that as a stereotype.
I’m sorry to hear about your friend, and I hope they can find people, such as yourself, who accept their life choice.
@@genzi78514rather than glorifying, it's more like representation. i'm sorry for what your friend is going through but you know that doesn't apply to everyone right? while you may feel upset for them, others who have made wearing a hijab their choice may feel appreciated. can't exactly satisfy everyone, especially when it's not even a part of the movie's plot point.
Why is everyone hating on him for not knowing what hijab is as Muslim it’s ok if he doesn’t know
No one is hating on him, they're just informing him what it is. If I didn't know something about somebody else's culture or religion I'd like to be informed about it.

Can be, ironically can be the opposite.
In Turkey it’s forbidden to wear a headscarf in government. So ironically it’s seen as female empowerment there.
@@flyingsquirrell6953 actually one of my BFF’s went to turkey and they refused her entrance in a lot of places without a hijab. That’s discrimination and sexism and it’s normalized there

guys- headscarf and hijab are the same thing 😭🤚 im a muslim too so stop fighting in others replies- oh, and after period you have to wear hijab. Its in the al-quran
It’s not :) where does it say that?? You should only wear hijab if you truly want to, if you’re just wearing it and not liking it one single bit and just because you were forced to, that ruins the entire purpose and meaning of the hijab. You’re supposed to feel proud and closer to Allah (SWT), not feel like it’s getting in your way.
@@sundaystorms5171 well, I'm a Muslim. I just follow whatever the ustaz/ustazah says. Yes, I do follow Al-quran but I don't know most meaning of it. The hijab is just to prevent lust.

Actually, this is not a hijab. Hijab is something different This one that is placed on the head is called a khimar. The hijab is worn loosely, almost as if it were a dress (the hijab is not pants and a shirt, but a special garment). As for the one who wears it on her head, as I said, it is a veil. (Well, if you are from a country that is far from Islamic countries and almost any religious teachings, there are things you should learn, my Muslim brother/sister. The hijab was created to cover women and not as they say it is more beautiful in (Oh, I did not notice you, non-Muslim. Well, You may see this as a matter of strictness in religion.)
