    It's a field watch, practically all field watches are copies of something. The fact that it isn't a Marathon, Benrus or Hamilton doesn't really change anything. They basically made a very convincing dead ringer that would allow people to enjoy the vintage size and aesthetic.
    I've been hoping for years now that Hamilton would release a 36mm or 34mm (like the original), Khaki Field Mechanical. But no, they kept the 38mm with very long lugs...and even made a 42mm later on.
    I have a Hamilton 46374B, and I would buy this quartz watch as it saves wear and tear on the original. It's a faithful reproduction, and I appreciate that. There are bad mechanical copies that exist that are fooling people into paying ridiculous money all the time.
    At least this is affordable and has decent build quality

    I have no problem with a copy, as long as the watch they are copying is at least 50 years old. This is a beautiful little watch, and if my wrists were smaller, I would buy it in a New York minute ! So I bought a Militado ML05 instead. But Thank YOU for the review of this fine little watch !

    I have this and really like it. Totally correct size for a Vietnam watch according to official specifications. Not a lot happy with a basic quartz but at the same time i can't complain at an accurate, serious grab-and-go that's always ready. Now that it seems RDUNAE sold it well i wonder if a hand-winding version isn't feasible.

      I would pay for that hand winding version no doubt.

    That is a nice budget military watch ! I have the Rdunae RA-01 which is a Precista/CWC G10 replica 🙂 The lume is pretty good, the dimensions are true to the original, the sandblasted finish is well made, and the K1 mineral crystal is great too for its price. If it gets scratched too much in the future, I will replace it by a similar but acrylic crystal, to be even closer to the old ones. I got it for 51 euros delivered to France 👌It even has removable spring bars contrary to the original, so we can put any strap.

      I thought the same thing. I own a new ML05 and I love it but I wish it was the same size of your Rdunae but with sapphire. And is the vh31 movement too large for this ML05 diameter? The ticks!!!!😢

      @@ildefons3k540 Last night I put mine on a leather strop just the old-fashioned kind and this watch I swear is the most comfortable thing I ever had. The Willard is comfortable. But this is comfortable and lightweight in a whole other dimension.

    I like the Militado ML07. It's 36mm which to me is the perfect field watch size (Hamilton Khaki field at 38mm has long lugs). It has a VH31 so the sweep is as smooth as an automatic.

    • @Cuccos19
      @Cuccos19 2 месяца назад

      That looks great too. Have you seen the new verisons? There is four versions now. Black and cream dial ones, and K1 mineral and sapphire glass ones. The cream dial looks absolutelly stunning! My wrists are too thin, about 16cm / 6,3" so actually the Rdunae RA03 is a fantastic sized watch for me. Lug to lug is even more important than case diameter. So until the lug to lug is under 45mm (rather under 44mm) the watch is good for me. Over that is a problem. So for example both Militado ML05 and ML08 has the same diameter (38mm), the ML05 has 47,5mm lug to lug but the ML08 has only 44,5mm lug to lug. The latter could be fine for me (you know, the Hamilton Murph clone, but also has a gorgeous green dial version too).

    This is really a bargain of a watch. I've looked at this watch several times on AliExpress and the only drawback is the watch is a bit too small for my 7"wrist. However, I love the domed crystal and bead blasted case finish. It really looks great.

  • @RpMcMurphy_
    @RpMcMurphy_ 2 месяца назад +1

    Yeah it’s a copy. However no brand owns this design. Further the original(s) are no longer manufactured. I love it and think it’s great. If I did manage to get my hands on an original it would probably never be worn due to age etc.

  • @Tickerman
    @Tickerman 2 месяца назад

    It’s not based on the Benrus - it’s based on the Hamilton GG-W-113. This is clear from the font used, the number 4 especially. The Benrus had a slimmer, sharper font.

    The Miltado ML05 is a much better watch than the one you are reviewing. That watch's seconds hand can't even hit all the marks. That by itself is a deal killer! The ML05 at least has a 4tick per second sweep and hits the markers like it should and has a sapphire crystal. Im wearing my Militardo ML05 right now.

    Risk of radiation from a watch? BRUH!! come on, that's a bit over the top. Good Lord. I have worn a Marathon GSAR with tritium tubes for nearly all my 21 year Army career. I have worn it in combat and every third world crap whole in the world. There is no radiation in wrist or ever any chance of it lol. I get more radiation from the sun.

    • @WristSaga
      @WristSaga  7 месяцев назад +7

      I was not referring to the modern watches that have tritium contained in glass tubes that are bult in such way that don't expose the wearer to radiation, but to old military watches had tritium dials and even wrose radium dials that even today are highly radioactive when measured. Cheers!

    • @TheGrenadier97

      Vintage watches used worse stuff than Tritium. Not Chernobyl-dangerous, but dangerous enough to explain why original Tornek-Rayvilles (american-assembled Blancpains) were almost all destroyed.
