    Living in a higher altitude also creates the same effect as intermittent hypoxia. It's called altitude acclimatization. In one study, they found that people living in high-altitude cities like Denver have less chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension.

    Intermittent hypoxia really works in practical terms , increase in haemoglobin , red cells ,stem cells. Reduces heart rate significantly. Affects brain profoundly so it is great to introduce it (by breathing practices) before meditation.

      How can we implement intermittent hypoxia in our daily lives? Through HIIT exercise? through breathing? Is there any breathing technique that improves this? thank you so much!

      basically its not difficult to create state of short term hypoxia with special breathing technique,,stage one to hyperventilate to reduce carbon dioxide (it will allows to stay longer without breathing),just use abdominal breathing to inhale in 2 steps inhale more inhale, and when you exhale lips form tiny circle and blow out hu ,hu in two steps, around 15 rounds in fairly fast way
      after exhale you hold breath for as long as you can ,its not to difficult to stay like that 2 or 3 minutes, rest short time and do it again, when holding on empty after exhale gently bring attention to area of body that needs to get better

    Thanks for your video, Hypoxia and Masks? Please explore that. Im living in Germany, and in public transport we still have to use Mask. So im having symptoms of Hypoxia anyway, and in the train im not feeling well, something like panic attacks with the mask.

      Hypoxia cannot be caused by masks because the Oxygen atoms in air are smaller than the filters in the masks, therefore they are able to pass easily. There are also many routes air can take through a mask since there is never an air tight seal between your mask and the air.

      The reason for you feeling uncomfortable with a mask on while breathing is that breathing is regulated by CO2 concentration in the blood rather than O2 concentration. The mask makes it more difficult for the higher concentration of CO2 in the expired air to get out. Therefore, you have a higher concentration of CO2 in the blood compared with the case without a mask. This is related to CO2 intolerance. With proper breath-hold training, people can increase their CO2 tolerance and enhance their anaerobic performance such as prolonging the time to swim underwater without taking a breath.
