      Cozy sketching in a cozy house wearing a cozy sweater is the dream. Love to see that you're watching the videos by the way, Uncomfy! If it wasn't for you maybe I wouldn't even have started drawing seriously.

      I honestly don't like cozy stuff. And I really can't deal with it when making art. I need high energy bullshit. When I am drawing I listen to Machine Girl at a deafining volume. Keeps the evil thoughts away you know?

    This right here, is a sketch book. This is what they’re about!
    I think when I was younger I used to confuse a sketch book with an art book. You’ve probably seen them on RUclips, artists giving a tour of their “sketchbook” full of beautiful fully rendered art.
    both are so great, but I think a sketchbook like this is for the reps. Combined with things that interest you to make it fun. Recently I started ceramics, and the biggest thing for my improvement was just making the cylinder, the foundation of forms in pottery, over and over.
    Anyways rant over, I could keep going 😅, loved watching your tour!

    • @meandidraws
      @meandidraws  2 месяца назад +3

      Yes! To me sketchbook is a place for exploration, experimentation and just having fun. It can totally be for making fully rendered art too, but once it starts to feel too precious, the sketchbook essence is lot to me.

    Really enjoyed seeing your sketchbook! Reconnecting, concentrating on animal/ natural/ organic forms with more suggested surroundings -- for sketchbooks, painting, finishing models. Your use of master copies and working through figure books is a helpful suggestion for warming up and learning, less what one wants to do, more what one wants to learn about techniques. I need to reward several hours of work on grad school papers with drawing sessions either under 30 minutes or under 60 minutes.
