GREAT video. Can’t wait to do this. My pedal is sticking (board falling off the roller) so I’m going to be taking it apart and checking out the springs. Might go ahead and install a roller or a big foot wide kit.
Good vid dude, but for future reference next time you're in there it would be a good idea to change out that clutch cable and hook on the end of the clutch pedal. You can see the wear on the apex of the hook, and on the loop end of the clutch cable where its eaten the metal away from everyday use. when that hook breaks you're dead in the water and will end up needing a tow. its a cheap fix too, $10 or less online. keep up the good work!
I just did the same on my car the only thing I did different I used small zip tide on the cable to the hook that way it stay in place when pushing it inside the channel and acceleratetor cable before tight Alloway the two bolts
The pin that fell out easily holding in the gas pedal should. It doesn't need to be secured, as when it is installed, it is held in place by the tunnel.
My 69 has the original pedal, and it cramps my leg due to the angle I have to keep my foot.. does this style pedal help reduce the angle you need to have your foot?
Great video. Just did this on my 67' but noticed there is not enough travel of the roller to open the throttle on the carb all the way. Only about 75%. Did I do something wrong? Is there something I should go back and check?
Best pedal assy video on you tube.

JGuilherme Vidotto thanks for the comment happy it helped you out!
You don’t have to put the flat part of the pedal assembly back on to touch the roller wheel?
The pin that fell out easily holding in the gas pedal should. It doesn't need to be secured, as when it is installed, it is held in place by the tunnel.
Excellent video good work. It will make the process a lot easier for me,
Jeffrey Sebben thanks for the comment! Happy to help.
When you are connecting the 90 degree portion of the brake spring where does it clip to? Very good video.
Thanks
Dan
One end clips when the push rod goes on. The other just sits behind it on the floor.
Good video, but your hook for clutch needs to be replaced.
Awsome video...just pulled mine how the heck did u keep thst carpet so clesn
HAHA! Thanks for the comment. I actually got some grease on it but shampooed it up.

@@brianworden7022 I would give it a try, I found it more comfortable.
Whats the reasoning behind the roller? Is it better than a standard pedal?
Probably just a fashion of the VW, I don’t really know

Dennis Baker sounds like cable needs to be adjusted at carb? There isn’t much to adjust at pedal.
My clutch pedal falls towards the driver seat and I can't figure it out, please tell me what I'm doing wrong
Is the cable hooked?
Yes very much so @@ChrisNCars
@@ChrisNCars the clutch works but when I let off the clutch it falls towards the driver seat
Should have put a stock one back in.
What type of gas pedal are you using?
Christer Billinger it’s a roller pedal.
Gracias
eduardo israel navarro nacar no problem!
You need some new axle boots dude. Good video though
Haha! I know, maybe next video? ;)
If you can find the German ones maybe from Wolfsburg west. They are much better.
What is reason for roller gas pedal...smoother, faster what?
Redd Mann it’s just a classic look from the 50’s bugs. Does not do anything for comfort.
3:28 did you just say the roller pedal has “a little bit of FREEDOM”??? LMBO
