Yay! Our 3rd week of our hands-on block! This week I settled into my new living arrangement, did a suture workshop, got a rapid COVID test, and more!

These hands-on block made me feel like an actual medical student. It's been soooo different this year having spent majority of my second year of medical school in my room (yikes!).
Also, I want to say thank you soooo much for all of the love and support i received from you all on last week's video. Knowing that you support my decision to live alone makes me incredibly happy. Your thoughts and opinions matter to me, so thank you for always taking the time to comment.

Something good that happened this week is my ED rotation at the busiest hospital of my state🤯🤯🥳
Today I got into medical school! I can’t wait to keep following along but now as a fellow medical student this fall 🥰
Doctors, who close wounds or surgical incisions, usually leave patients with horrible looking scars. If you're going to be doing this skill regularly after graduating medical school, suggest putting on your list to take advance training in this during or after residency. Your patients will love you for it.
I was fortunate to have two surgeons who attended such training. The scars are totally invisible to the eye. When others find out I had surgery, first thing out of their mouths: "Where are your scars? Look how bad mine are."
I am emotionally invested in your success. Not to add any pressure, but watching all the good and bad, now I really want to see you be the wonderful, caring, intelligent doctor I know you can be. You work so hard and care so much I want you to get everything you want in life ❤️ You showed us if you can do it so can we!
Hands-on block is DONE! Your new space is definitely going to be a lot better mentally and productively as we enter into dedicated.

Subcuticulars are my favorite! Surprisingly, I used it a lot during my Orthopedic elective.

What did we do to deserve the continuous subcuticular?! Thank you for sharing another week. I honestly struggle to get through 1 lecture a day, so I don't know how you do all you do! But thank you for the motivation.
Taking in new information from moving and going back into class has probably really puts some strain on the brain. Nothing wrong with prioritizing what you have to when things get taxing. It wont take too long for things to even out and for to be able to get back into a groove when we get thrown off, but while we’re adjusting it’s always a good idea to switch direction a little when you need it, especially when we start seeing diminishing returns. Even if that’s just a 15 minute break, that’s why we have them. Meet your needs, break up what you need to. Love yourself like you love everyone else.
I moved recently too. It’s always a huge learning process. Go easy on yourself.

I’m absolutely in love in the way you speak out your tasks and I’m like “yes, yes mhmm okay...alright let’s go” 😂 it feels like I was there
The shots of you studying and of you commuting in the evening sky are so aesthetic ✨. Personally, I found having two shots side by side was a little distracting. Still, I really enjoyed the vlog overall and watching you do the different kinds of suturing - this length is great for me!

Pleaseee do a vid about your study strategy and materials for step 1! Im an M1 and could definitely use a strategy! Rn i dont use anking or anything like that, I just make my own cards per lecture so not sure what the best way to transition to a step 1 deck is and when to do that! Thanks!!
