Game design wise, an intro chapter with Titus as a deathwatch member makes sense, as it's a way to get players familiar with controls before the "story" begins - and I'm here for it!!!
I would love to get skin options for Co-Op to have Titus, Cassius and Uriel Ventris in Deathwatch Armor. 2 black shields and The Chaplain with so much Cybernetics he makes admech jealous would be BhadAzz

First mission should be the deathwatch ending where you cant win but you learn combat, then when you "die" the titles hit and you get the CGI cutscene or something
@Valrak, it might be a Blood Raven with Titus in the ship. In Space Marine 1 the Blood Ravens show up as well to help as most of the Ultramarines weren't at that Forge World.
with saber interactive ability to make a swarm of enemies (as seen in their prior game World War Z 2021) i do believe that the tyranids are gonne be epic

Henry cavil being VA for a space marine or someone of high status in the militarum would've been the icing on the Cake . 🔥 But I'm hoping he gets what he wants with the TV show .
Cavill is probably far too expensive for a video game with basically no fanbase and no guarantee that it will work (the remains of a 10 years old fanbase are not enough to prove to investors that there is enough potential). If they had that kind of budget they would have worked with Mark Strong first to have the OG voice of Titus

Will we finally see some good action for the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos, a force comprised of the finest marines of all Chapters equipped with the cutting edge of Imperial weaponry? A literal super team of all marine chapters strengths? Nope... all dead in the first scene to some gargoyles.
I'm sure this was covered in White Dwarf a few months ago, and that you're nearly right but I think there's more to it, that at some point he lost knowledge of who he was. That the Inquisitor who took him was seen as a heretic, and had been gathering space marines and Titus was kinda rescued and then taken into the Deathwatch. And then rescued again later by an ultramarine Librarian and brought back into the ultramarines but with a loss of his former rank due to time away etc.
The biggest thing I've noticed is that the cadian 8th is back, the regiment which the entire plot line of minka lesk shadow of the eighth revolved around being missing ever since cadia's fall
it makes sense that the prologue of the game (like a tutorial) is you playing titus as deathwatch and then after that the start of the game is you becoming an ultramarine again cause in one of those scenes when someone tells him that he's a lieutenant now not a captain could be after the tutorial is what im hopeing anyway
Titus taking on the name Nullius feels a bit on the nose to me but I still like it xD If I remember right, Nullius roughly translates to "Belonging to none".
I can already see it..at one point in the game, its gonna look grim..Titus is about to be overwhelmed, and then BOOM, The last surviving member of Titus' Deathwatch Killteam who we thought was dead appears and saves the day..Epic.
It’s still really weird how anyone else completes their Deathwatch service and gets shortlisted to be the next chapter master or company commander but Titus doesn’t even get his old rank back but even gets demoted to lieutenant.
I genuinely think this game is providing the next narrative progression in the 4th tyrannic war and I do expect the events in this game to carry over to the main 40k lore going forward with the 4th Tyrannic War. Also sort of confirms it more based on this games initial release date back in the fall of 2023 which would have lined up perfectly with the 10th edition story for the Nids in the Segmentum Pacificus at the launch of 10th ed. Also, is this game confirming a new potential Deathwatch KT kit? I dont see GW ever making a dedicated Deathwatch kit for 40k or the potential meger of DW into Agents of the Imperium but I could very well see a KT kit being created in its place.
Indeed speaking of you might have to deathwatch yourself, I have heard through the whispers in the warp that Greggs is thinking of blacklisting you from the stores for pilfering the sausage rolls!
I wondered why it was all firstborn in the Blackstar. So you think this might be the first time we actually see a first born get put through the Rubicon animated in a cutscene rather than them just gloss it over with exposition? Would be another way for GW to market Primaris as the next step for marines and bring hobbyists in who want to collect these new Super-Astartes.
So I imagine the tutorial level will be a deathwatch flashback and if so I hope there a cameo from the ultramarines Chaplain Cassius and maybe a new primaris model for the tabletop 🤞🤞
And daddy Calgar said nothing to the inquisition when they took his captain? I imagine he would go all "I Cast Fist" on them. I bet he would rather go to war with the Inquisition than to have to suffer Cato Sicarius any longer.
It's too bad we'll probably never get the original Titus Space Marine story. Apparently, he was going to uncover a Chaos plot within the Ultramarines Chapter, go rogue, and then end up founding his own successor Chapter.
@alyassuppaleridhil7892 he was going to uncover a Chaos plot as he was being chased down by his brother Ultramarines be exonerated and start his own Successor chapter. The writer actually put this in an interview you can look up.
I love the Death Watch but honestly lore wise making him a Grey Knight would have made more sense considering he would have to be a powerful psyker to do the things he did in the first game. EDIT: though I suppose if they made him a grey knight they couldn’t have him fighting tyranids. But still fighting hoards of 4 tittied demons in the eye of terror then landing on a word bearers planet and putting your foot up Lorgars ass would have been cool. Honestly GW should have maintained the SM games as an alt timeline. In my humble opinion at least.
It makes more sense, timeline wise, for him to become Primaris *whilst* being a member of the Deathwatch rather than to suffer injuries from the Carnifex, get rescued by the Ultramarines, get returned to the Ultramarines, and recover and become a Primaris at the same time. For one, how much time does it take to 'upgrade' a marine to Primaris and two, how long would it take to convalescence from whatever injuries he sustains as part of the Carnifex rampage. Surely that would all take a number of weeks, even a month or two, compared to the length of time it would just take to 'recover' from a Carnifex attack and rejoin the Ultramarines if he was already a Primaris? Afterall, if he was already found to be without taint and that allowed his induction into the Deathwatch, then that allows plenty of time for his Primaris upgrade without the constraints of an active war too
If we go by Dark Imperium and based on Donis Maxum's experience, it'll take about 3-4 weeks for a marine to fully recover from the Rubicon physically. Plus rehab to get used to their body being 20% bulker/longer limbed than it had been for centuries. He describes the procedure of feeling like his bones are melting and muscles flayed. So I think you're on the right path. I imagine Titus was made a primaris when he was with the watch.
@2355Kyle Eh, to be fair, he's 50/50 with names. I boil it down to him to his exciteable nature, making him read too fast, and his dialect laden brain fills the gaps.
