How do people this clueless make this much money??
Onlyfans
“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”
Dentist here. I'll never forget when COVID hit, two of my colleagues were panicking. They said they couldn't afford 2 months rent. They made more than $250,000/year.
Without the education, it's nuts how fast people spend all the money they get.
You sound jealous
Well they all can't be like your precious Chelsea
The longer the call went the scarier it got.
I was waiting for her to say the Income she gave is a combined amount, not hers alone. 😂
@@actuallyterryand that he is on the deed but not the mortgage
OMG THIS IS WHAT I WAS THINKING.
I bet she doesn’t make $250,000k! Thats probably her total sales. Someone making that much money could pay that off that debt in a month
I follow many experience resellers online, that seems like a really high yearly income estimate. I don't even think that is her real total sales.
She said based on last years taxes. Sounds like income to me.
She’s a reseller that doesn’t know how to sell her own car. How funny
lol
Right
Reseller my ass
Its not that she doesnt know, its that no one in his right mind would pay 54k for a 5 year old bmw 😂
A 2019 car that you still owe $54k on. 🙄😳👎
I was literally about to comment “it must be a german car” and i heard her say is a x6. Lmao. In 2027 that car would be worth 20k if its good condition and low mileage.
Probably an Audi or a Mercedes
@deltafox1 she said a BMW
This caller makes me angry. She's being disingenuous. She tried to get past the call screeners by inflating her debt - included her mortgage. basically her consumer debt is only a $50,000 car - which she can afford on her income. She makes a mockery of all the listeners who are really struggling with finances
Man, I wish Dave was hosting... 😂😂😂
People like this are so shocked and devastated when life takes a left turn and then body slams you. She's setting herself up for a huge reality check.
This poor girl is about to get used left and right
You're right. The wedding date always seems to 'be next year'.
She needs to demand to go to the courthouse and sign the papers before agreeing to pay for this stuff. They can always have the wedding later, but they need that legal protection today. It costs next to nothing to file the actual marriage paper work and can be done in a couple hours. The party isn't the important part, that is the celebration for the family.
I don’t think they asked her enough questions.
they should've clarified if the $250k income was both of them, and if both their names were on the house. also should've asked how long they've been together, and how much debt he has.
Exactly!
"I asked him and he didn't answer". Girl LEAVE!
Amen. They missed uncle Dave’s recommendation for pre marital counselling. Lots of red flags here.
She should call back to get Dave’s opinion/rant.
This is very scary. Great advice keep money separated. A friend of mine worked lots of overtime to put her husband through school. He got his degree and a few years laterleft
Sounds like your friend allowed herself to be used, If they were married would things have been different, if you say yes, How?
"Thank You Honey for all your hard work. BYE BYE!!"
@@iddddaduncan - Please re-read, it’s stated they were married😅
@@iddddaduncan you can still leave after getting your degree in a marriage lol
If married you are supposed to combine finances. If you are married and seperate finances, Ramsey will not approve
Selling her car to pay off his debt 😭😭😭😭 baby what is you doing !!!
He can’t afford his car payment without her contributing.
@@catherinebiermann7940yes, but then she should ask him to sell his car to pay off his debt.
Right…get rid of both cars and you downgrade
I also wonder if she is the only one paying mortgage on the house they jointly own.
love lol
I didnt like when the girl asked he boyfriend how much he owed on his car and he didnt tell her... so many red flags.
Right 😡
If you love me, you don't ask me such personal questions.😡 Oh, hey, how much do you make from reselling? Hey, wow, why don't we pay off my debt with your money?🥰😅
Sooooooooo many red flags
I took it to mean that she texted him while on this call and he hadn’t responded yet
I wish they had dug into her income to make sure she was talking about profit and not revenue (apparently many business owners don't know the difference 😳). Also to figure out how stable that income is
$250k profit for a reseller sounds like top 0.01%, it is possible but lot likely.
i was thinking the same thing..... that was a large sum and i'd think if you did make that much, why do you have financial issues?
can't pay for a car?
only payments are house?
making 250+ hmmmmmmmm
property taxes must be in the 10s of thousands then??????
I also thought 250k was unlikely. She is probably receiving trust fund payments annually. The reseller gig is a hobby that she uses to fill her time.
Not if you steal everything. Which certain races of people are apparently allowed to do now as long as Bidementia is in office.
Maybe 250k is her revenue
100%. I wish the non Dave hosts had even a little bit of a financial background to understand this. I know a lot of self employed 20 somethings who think their sales are how much they make. $250k in Buffalo and needs to share a car to make ends meet?
She said she’s making 250k, so let’s assume 150k net. I’d absolutely sell the car and get out of that. The real issue is: where does the rest of her money go? 12.5k a month and we’re struggling? Things don’t add up here
Where did you hear that she was struggling?
She's between selling a car at a loss or just sticking with monthly payments. She generates enough cash (assuming the earnings number is true) for that to not even be an issue. Based on the income, neither of these should even be necessary @@tstanley01
The likely figures are: $250K gross sales --> $120K net profit --> $90K after tax. That's why she's struggling to deal with a $500K mortgage and car loan over $50K.
If she makes 250k, why doesn't she have the car paid for already???
Why would she even have car payments? I make one fifth of what she makes and I paid cash for mine.
I wondered the same thing. 🤔Also, She could pay a huge chunk of the mortgage off. 🤔 I wonder how long she's been reselling and if she's on track to keep making $250k for awhile.
Because $250K is probably her gross sales, not net profit. If her net profit is $120K, that drops to maybe $90K after tax.
Because she wanted it NOW
S&P mutual fund (don't get married). 2019 BMW X5 worth $33K. Did I say don't get married? Don't marry a 'dead beat.' Both sides should come into the marriage squeaky clean.
Or equal in amount of debt
Buying a home with someone you’re not married to 🙄 I’ve seen people I worked with do this and omg it was sooo messy when they broke up! I hope she listened to what they told her.
I've also seen people buy houses with those theybare married to, and it's even more messy when they break up!
This still holds true!
“The paid off home mortgage has taken the place of the BMW as the status symbol of choice!”- Dave Ramsey❤
This is such a bad idea. Just pay the car off. Don’t sell it for a loss man. This is insanity.
It’s even worse that’s it’s a BMW
So that it can just keep depreciating? Or she could sell it and buy a car that depreciates at a much slower rate. You'll be up more money this way
Bad idea, its not an investment. Id keep the car if its not a bmw and under 40k
It will be under 40K when she pays off that 15K they told here to spend anyway. @@unfairsanic5089
I think that the only reason she wanted to sell her car is that she can help him pay off his car. The guy convinced her to sell her car and then help him pay off his car.
I was a reseller part time for a couple of years. Many resellers say "I made $100k last year" and it means total sales without discounting COGS and other expenses. I have a feeling that applies to this call as well. The tell is that she said "I looked at my taxes and it was $250k." Girl, if your Amazon 1099 says you received that amount, that is not your actual net income.
I don't know why George is surprised that the car is worth 15k less then when she bought it for.
It's a 5 year old car. They are selling for 30-40k. 37k is a good deal.
LMAO seriously. WHO wants a 5 year old Beemer?
its a used depreciating asset..... perhaps she's so hot that since her butt was in it, makes it worth more?
perhaps scratch and sniff special?
She got scammed when buying it, not selling it, 37k for a standard 2019x5 is decent
Yeah she paid minimum on it and it shouldn't be a surprise what it is worth
Carmax is pretty much an automatic low-ball offer though. It might be worth it for the convenience factor, but still...
Zero.chance she makes that much. Thats gross. She prolly takes home 60k
@user-qz4ji7dw3b you guys sound jealous

One caller after another about playing house together but wait till things go south and someone always loses out and sometimes it's alot of money and emotional strain at such a young age.
I didn't realize that BMWs were considered luxury cars. I see so many on the streets.
What a chaotic situation. Marriage/divorce will even make this worse. The divorce lawyers will have a blast with this couple and their crippling debts
Love your honest advice!
Wish Rachel would have brought up a 2nd solution: go to Justice of Peace this week to get legally married. Formal wedding could still be done next year. If you're good enough to be co-borrower on a mortgage, you're good enough to be married to today.
My thoughts exactly!
Except we don’t have enough info. Is he a leech just using her? If so, then they should not. We are only hearing her side.
I like how everyone says they are engaged 🤣
I hope she takes the advice to heart
Of course it is a BMW
Completely understand the fact that I don't know her boyfriend but these are signs. I would get out of the relationship and go for someone whose financial habits are a lot like mine.
Girl is doing a pile of dumb. Paying off his debt, having a house when they aren't married, getting rid of a car is great until he leaves and she can't go anywhere. The car market is awful right now and she'll get low balled to the point that she'd almost be better off paying off the car and keeping it
Your comment about him taking the car and her not being able to go anywhere is DUMB. Ever heard of a taxi/Uber/public transit/walking?
She's not intellectually dumb. She's just .....I want to say this without being condescending...young and inexperienced in a lot of these adult matters. I'm 40 now. I would love, LOVE to talk to the 18 year old version of myself and say, "Hey, this is what you need to do with money and this is what you need to do with college. I know you're excited and this is all new to you and it is going to be a lot of fun and an amazing experience but speaking as the older you, this is the path you should go down. You thank yourself for it when you're me."
@@douglasrau5094 yeah i was 24 once too and didn't make the same dumb mistakes. Congrats, you were both dumb at that age
She should not sell her car at all. She should keep all of her finances separate from him even after getting married with him and not just hand him all the money he needs to pay off his debt. She may be in a situation where he is taking her for a ride. Anything she does pay off for him, needs a repayment contract if they divorce in 5 years. Marriage is not a protection like this show pretends it is.
@@barnabusdoyle4930 yes, this is a better plan by miles

I’m thinking OF or something along those lines…. She skimmed over her profession real quick

That means if it was ME.
I wont keep that piece of crap, well 37 for that selling it to a dealer is reasonable, she got scammed when buying way over priced
She can’t afford it 😂😂😂😂. Just because you can pay the monthly payment doesn’t mean you can afford it. She is 24 for God’s sake, this is time to build your life, not buy a 54,000 car.
Her car isn’t out of line with her income. Her boyfriend though seems not to have his house in order.
Strong and independent OF self-employed
She definitely shouldn't help pay his debt. Talk about double stupid tax I used my grad student loans (first stupid tax) to pay off debt for a man (second stupid tax) that left me less than a year later. 🤦🏼♀️
A reseller means nothing of value to society. Buying and reselling junk nobody needs to begin with. Money from things like that never last.
She isn’t responsible at all. Why didn’t you ask her where her money is going each month? I didn’t hear anyone ask her if she has a budget. She made a lot of money for one year, but that may not be sustainable. You should have asked her how much money she is paying towards their mortgage each month. She could have paid her car note off in one year. She’s very impulsive with money and has no clue how to manage it. She needs FPU asap.
Wow. Her car is the least of her worries.
This is really helpful advice for that girl , I hope she takes it , tks
5:04 maybe Rachel and George missed it but they own the home together so normally the recommendation is get married asap or come up with an arrangement for them to separate the ownership of the home to one or the other depending on who is dominant on the equity.
You can't separate ownership on the home.
@@DoctorSmartyPants you file a Quitclaim Deed to the other and compensate the one quitting claim. If they’re worried about the party ceasing claim causing contention afterwards, then a Warranty Deed would then be better.
That’s how you’d separate the ownership. It’s also useful for transferring property to children before dying.
@@DoctorSmartyPants the boyfriend would file a quitclaim deed (or a warranty deed if you’re worried about contention afterwards) and the girlfriend would compensate him for quitting claim. That’s how you separate ownership.
5 year old BMW for more than 54k? You got scammed.
Until you say "I do" .. DONT
Why do people feel their depreciating asset (car) after years of a paying a loan that they deserve more money for the car?
and still paying on a 2019 vehicle? that is just sad, but then again making payments on any vehicle is sad, just shows that you can't afford it.
can't pay for it, can't afford, life is not that difficult

$490,000 house in Buffalo, New York it must be the size of the White House😂😂😂
Doesn't make sense, there were more questions at the end of the call. $250k, really? Why the car loan then?
Great advice! If you are not legally married, you do not put your money in one pot.
I was born in Buffalo,NY. Lived in the area all my life. Worked in North Buffalo for 11 years. It seems she wants to help her finance with her big income. Bad move, nothing is set in stone until the marriage is final. Buffalo before 2008 was the second poorest city in the usa. She doesn't know how good she has it. I see people at my job every day without a pot to piss in. Also no way she's making $250k. Buffalo has the 5th cheapest cost of living in America. If she sold in the suburb house areas. She would sell a big house. Definitely not in Buffalo. Most of those houses are old and run down.
If she has shared use of the boyfriend's vehicle, making half the payment is like paying monthly to rent the vehicle. If they split, he assumes the entire loan payment and she goes on with her life. No problem.
No problem? Problem is a car has a deed and both of them are not the legal owner. She would give up her car and use the proceeds to pay for his car. It is like you selling your car, using the proceeds to pay half the car loan for your neighbor because you can use it once a week to get groceries. Sharing a payment only works if a third party owns the underlying item (like sharing rent payments on an apartment) otherwise it is a transfer of equity.
I’ve only lived in places with inexpensive public transport so I’ve never bought a car. Can someone explain to me how a car can be worth $37k, but you owe $55K on it? How can you owe more than it is worth? I’ve never done this so it doesn’t make any sense to me.
She’s 24 and has a mortgage and a car loan. She is a business owner, has a retirement account, and knows what she files on her taxes. At 24 I had a child, an apartment, a crappy car given to me by grandparents, and the mentality of a 17 yr old with no freaking clue of how to file my taxes or how to even start a business. She’s doing fantastic in my opinion!!
You say you had a mentality of a 17 year old and yet you had a child. This is why we need to legalize abortions
she said she's a re seller.... so drop shipping? i highly doubt this is legit based on her question. on getting rid of a car loan?????any person who has watched one video of dave ramsey (the show she is calling) knows that loans are no good. pretty much wasting their time. ya na ya na ya.
She is a smart lady, but it doesn't mean she will keep making smart choices. Buying a house with a boyfriend is one of a bad decision. And then she is helping to pay off his debts?!. 😒🙄
Yeah so smart that she bought a house with a dude... And paying off his debt.. 😂
She is shacking up with a guy and they have no wedding date. No matter what HER income may be, she is stupid.
There are 2 ways to solve this...
A- go down to the courthouse and get married. You dont have to tell anyone. Proceed to pay everything off.
B- seperate EVERYTHING until you get married. Dont pay each others debt.
And girl keep your car you will need it.
The real love is blind. Taking a 14K hit now having no car for your love! So cute!!
This was a Dave Question 100%!!! 🤦🏽♀️
She just called to flex
240 thousand dollar house paid off, we have a Raptor and top trim level Palisade which was 54,000 and the raptor was 62,800. They are almost paid off. We make like 150,000. People are just dumb with money.
I follow many experience resellers online, that seems like a really high yearly income estimate.
Dave’s Turkey on the payroll.
I bet her parents are screaming. She's doing great in life and is setting herself up for failure. That's why she called the show because she doesn't want her parents to find out she is paying his debt.
Luxury cars right now are in trouble. Mainly because of un-affordability. Sell it private party bank cashier's check only, check Kelley Blue book and Edmunds. Be reasonable on the price. Unless she just wants to learn a $17k lesson! My '22 Honda, bought new is now only worth $12k LESS, but I paid cash, and it's a 15-20 year keep.
And DON'T pay his debts.. he'll leave you debt free because you paid it, and he'll default on mortgage leaving it all to her! Bad bad bad!
I hope she makes a million.
here we go again with the DA caller
If they don't need two cars, why do they keep encouraging her to get another car?
Because they are hypocrites
because they don't live in reality.
Because they are to keep things separate. She's thinking of sharing a car with a roommate, which is not a good idea. They each need their own car until they are married. It sounded like she didn't want this car, so get rid of it and get a different one. Or keep the one she has. They said she could do that as well. This girl just wants to share everything with her roommate, which is stupid.
Generally, paying your roommates car loan isn’t a wise idea.
It’s simple they are NOT married which means she is setting herself up for failure. She needs to have her OWN car and keep their finances separate until marriage!
Made more sense when she said they both bought the home together. I suspect the $250K is revenue, not profit. Retail margins are super thin, if you're doing well. I would have liked to know his job/income. If he has a W2 with a good compensation package, which means she'll get to take advantage of the insurance benefits, it's a pretty fair trade-off. I definitely agree. Marry before you make this big financial commitments.
She said salary
What the fuck is a reseller.
Literally someone who gets stuff and resells it online for a profit. I've made some quick cash selling old items I had on marketplace but these people do it "professionally" the problem is you can end up with a lot of crap you can't sell.
Like drop shipping, or ebay, poshmark.
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say someone who.. resells things... 🤯🤯
Yeah I don't believe her. Nobody making 250k a year by buying and selling crap on ebay... if it was just that simple everyone would do it
Please don't use vulgarity. This is a religious channel and don't do anything with anyone until married. Maybe kissing but that is it.
She supposedly earns 250k, yet doesn’t know what consumer debt is, or real estate. Something doesn’t add up.
This call is one big humble brag
This woman is making a whole lot of mistakes and I don’t think she will take the wise counsel you gave her.
Even wiser counsel is “tell the shack up boyfriend to get his own place right now and if he wants to wake up next to you every morning, then buy a ring and schedule an appt. At the courthouse”
Why is she wanting to sell her car and the 2 of them both use one vehicle? That’s insane. Pay down her own car and let him work on his debts.
This video clearly demonstrates why Dave SHOULDN'T leave his show to Rachel. Dave's personality qualities that made this show what it is - Rachel doesn't have. When you listen to Dave you can see confidence, experience, knowledge, brutal and necessary honesty - all of it shines through and throws light on the possibility of a better life for the caller. When you listen to Rachel - it's like talking to your girlfriend who is more concerned that you still like her than about confronting you with the uncomfortable truth.
Rachel and George. Both have a lot of good knowledge and talent, but yes, I would love to hear Dave’s response to this caller. He has a special gift!

This clip is more evidence of their SEXISM. If the caller was a man who was engaged to a woman with debt they'd be saying pay off the debt beforehand. But since it's a woman it's "keep it separate" "you're roommates"
