    Lived in the Buffalo area and went to this game, trying not to cheer too hard for the Redskins in front of Bills fans. They looked really good and kept getting better down the stretch. Great to see them in a Super Bowl winning season.

    Jacoby owned Bruce Smith all game on running games. Bruce Smith was great. Jacoby belongs in the HOF

    I met Jay Schroeder back in 86, he had a hell of an arm. Miss that era of football.

      He had an Elway type of arm

      Great arm but consistency and accuracy problems plagued him . I think he came to rely on his arm strength to compensate for his dearth of touch.

      @@MaximusWolfe yeah he had his flaws but even Brett Favre had his flaws the gunslinger mentality..

    These two teams just 4 years later would face each other in the Super Bowl, in what would be consecutive loss number 2 for the Bills...

    The Bills were cheated out of a defensive TD in the 2nd quarter. The fumble return should have stood.

      Agreed. The Bills got robbed on that one. Still, the day belonged to the Skins.

    Jay Schroeder I believe should be included in the 90 greatest Redskins of all time, he's very much underrated and should at least be mentioned in the same breath as the other great Redskin quarterbacks, Baugh, Jurgensen, Theismann, Kilmer, Rypien and Doug Williams

    • @christopherdelgaudio9484
      @christopherdelgaudio9484 2 года назад +1

      He was better than rypien and williams

    • @johnliberty3647

      Schroeder could be great or awful depending on what quarter the game was in. Luckily the 4th quarter was usually his best

      @MaximusWolfe 2 года назад +5

      No, sorry, one decent season and a cannon arm don’t put him in that echelon. He had accuracy problems and threw senseless interception far too frequently. Unfortunately he never rectified his issues. He is nowhere near Baugh, Kilmer or Jurgensen as he only played 3 seasons for the team and only one as the main starter. That’s not a 90 greatest resume.

      No he was not. For one thing he played at a mediocre level in the biggest games. Williams and Rypien played quite well in high stakes football games. Rypien actually improved as time went on whereas Schroeder was unable to mollify his accuracy woes, which followed him to the Raiders to the point where he was eventually replaced by a crackhead.
