Today's Highlights:
The murder toll skyrocketed between Friday and Monday as a total of eighteen (18) murders were recorded in the country.
Monday murder:
A man identified as Anthony John was found shot dead in Dump Road, Arima earlier on Monday 15th July 2024.
A Venezuelan National identified as 23-year-old Fayge Acosta of Church Street, Chickland Village, Freeport succumbed to his injuries early this morning after he was stabbed during a confrontation with a relative in Chickland, Freeport on Sunday 14th July, 2024.
Sunday Murders:
The country has recorded its fourth triple murder after three men were gunned down outside Rituals Coffee House and Pizza Boys in Cunupia on Sunday 14th July, 2024.
• The deceased were identified as 24-year-old Dave Lyons, a Coast Guard officer of Alley Drive, Sea Trace, Diego Martin; 35-year-old Earl Peters of Corner Savannah #2 Road and Diego Martin Main and 22-year-old JahMarley Goddard, of Bagatelle Road, Diego Martin.
A man identified as Mekeel Cox was shot and killed while another was left nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting incident at the corner of Charlotte Street and South Quay in Port-of-Spain on Sunday 14th July 2024.
A bullet-riddled body of a man who is yet to be identified was found in a garden in Sugar Estate Road, Ste Madeleine on Sunday 15th July, 2024.
The decomposing body of 40-year-old taxi driver, Densely Eudovic, from River Road, Vega de Oropouche, who was reported missing on Friday 12th July, 2024 was found tied up with a wound to his head in a forested area along Cunapo Southern Road in Biche on Sunday 14th July 2024.
Saturday Murders:
A businesswoman identified as 25-year-old Carissa Ramrattan of Grants Street, Rio Claro was gunned down at Toyota Motors compound near South Park, San Fernando on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
The decomposing body of missing TTRS driver, Shakeem Charles of Indian Walk, Moruga was found dead in a forested area in Ramlal Trace, Penal on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
35-year-old Dwayne Richardson and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Latoya Voisien both of #18 Maturita Trace, Arima were shot and killed at their home on Saturday 13th July, 2023.
A man only identified as Brownie was shot and killed along Piccadilly Street in Port-of-Spain on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
Friday Murders:
36-year-old Shawn Nigel George of 146 Foster Road Sangre Grande was fatally shot while another was hit by a stray bullet during a shooting near his home on Friday 12th July, 2024.
29-year-old Hasani Bonas of Rudolf Charles Link Road, Laventille and 19-year-old Jaheim Shallow of Rigsby Street, Belmont were fatally shot during a brazen daylight shooting along Agostini Street in Belmont on Friday 12th July, 2024.
20-year-old Jemerc Fonrose and 44-year-old Kerwin Mc Leod, both of Mango Rose, Laventille were gunned down in their neighborhood on Friday 12th July, 2024.
Murder is suspected in the nude body of 37-year-old Iakunin Oleksandr, a cook for container vessel BBC Singapore who was found on a container vessel departing from Suriname on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
A man identified as 27-year-old Ithiel Arneaud drowned while swimming at Balandra Beach on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
An unidentified man died after he was knocked down by a Kia SUV registered PDA 5041 in Hardbargain, Williamsville early on Sunday 14th July 2024.
72-year-old Peter Jim David of La Brea Village died after he was struck by a vehicle along the roadway in Guayaguayare on Saturday 13th July 2024.
