I picked up this watch after watching the review on Alias Eve Watches. She had the lighter version but recommended me to this black one and I must say it's an absolutely stunning watch. Great video, great presentation and review. 👍
Oh I do like this little watch. The original ones were 32 mm small afaik. This watch with 36 mm has been slightly modernized in terms of dimensions but it's still a small watch which I like. I have to say that beige version with beige hands is a no go, it's virtunall illegible. But this black version really is a lovely watch with good quality. I'm looking forward to mine! 😉
That was my thought too, and as a military watch, maybe the case is the odd one out, not the buckle. Still I like it as it is, and the bead blasting will irritate less than scratches from the desk!
Military style watches built with military precision. Quite taken with the watch, unsure about the high polish case as a day to day watch for me. That rotating lume shot was really cool. Thanks for the review.

Have you seen the Silver Linen dialled dress watch that Baltany have released Gary? Looks very nice, especially with the Seagull small seconds movement.
VERY interested in seeing a review of those linen dial variations! And I agree, the small seconds looks particularly good (though the central seconds version looks good too). I do wish the Bubble Back case were a little thinner, but we'll see what the reviewers say.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that it's got too much polishing, good though it is, just doesn't suit a military "style" piece. Really nice though, seems like a quality piece.
It strikes me that now my Dad’s old Omega Seamaster has been stolen, every watch I own runs off either a battery or a solar cell backed by a capacitor. If I buy an automatic, I have to: 1) wear it a lot 2) let it stop when I don’t wear it 3) buy one of those winder gadgets and use lots more electricity to keep it wound. Damn. I don’t like any of those alternatives unless the watch is really cool-looking and really accurate. Straps: I almost always go for steel bracelets. I bought cheap tools to adjust them to my 7-inch wrist. Leather lasts about a year if I’m lucky.
I have the octopus kraken bronze watch and this one has a similar bezel which I really like. It would have been better with a fully bbrushed case. I like the finish on the buckle though.
I do love this timepiece, although I do have a little niggle about the crown and stem not disengaging properly after charging the time. It takes several attempts to disengage before winding or screwing the crown down. But a crackin' watch. JANBOY. RN. Rtd.
Did everyone face quality issues with this watch? I had to take mine to a watchmaker for cleaning, as there was a speck of paint pealed off from the dial wondering around under the crystal. The watchmaker also told me that I should rather not swim with this watch as the water resistant is questionable. Did anyone swim with it?
I have tested many Chinese watches in a water pressure tester and they generally do very well, I’ve had a couple of spectacular failures…but not many at all
good vids interested novice ,why are there no reviews of vakis rigas paul newman daytona from from the watch guys,it only seems to be reviewed buy guys who have bought one
Far too much For chinese watch. You can add couple of £ and enjoy an original SEIKO. Prices of Chinese brands will sistematically go higher and higher. People must understand that these watches do not represent the Swiss quality. This is why Chinese people also want to wear them on wrists and not their brands. 5 years and it will stop working , because of low quality materials, probably.
You know these watches are made in the same factories that produce cases and bracelets for Swiss brands…the Exciton 2 was made in the LGY factory and many of their customers are Swiss brands…
@@ilikewatches Thanks for reply and information. Swiss watches must compose in 75% from elements manufactured in Switzerland 🇨🇭. So, it does not add. They cannot buy all components in China 🇨🇳 and then, sell it as Swiss. I am afraid Swatch is balancing on the verge cos their watches represent much much poorer quality comparing to these manufactured years ago.
Seiko are now way overpriced when compared to AliExpress watches - especially when considering that they are often Seiko movements! Picked up one of these for around £115 the other month and it's a great watch that keeps time really well within +/-5s per day. Can't argue with that.
A case is one component of a watch consisting of hundreds of components so it’s less than 1% of the watch…how is the percentage calculated…they don’t tell you because Swiss made is actually a marketing tool, nothing more.

Thank you! Been waiting for a video of this new release.
The only negative is the buckle? I think I could deal with that. Thanks for the review. Cheers!
I get what you're saying about the buckle but this one will show less wear and scratches than a polished one.

Agreed, looks good but possibly more polish than is necessary
Congrats on 17K subs and these reviews, Gary!

These smaller size homage watches are great. nice review!
I bought a Praesidus version of this early in May. This looks every bit as good and very reasonably priced.
It's not true that nobody does it better. Praesidus makes a better version in a 32mm case, which is the true original size.
You are doing a great job wth the macro shots. 👍
Thank you!
Congratulations for 17 K subscribe

Love a well-made, uncontroversial homage of some historical piece - specially when they're "upped" to, for instance, 200m of water resistance.
I've got the yellow version of this and it has a polished buckle! 😁

I struggle with unsigned crowns. Makes me think its a badge engineered product even though it's probably just a design choice.
There is a similar one at 38mm but goes for $300 all because it has a PT5000. Shame I rather it had an NH35 just to keep the price down.
nice mondaine wall clock!
It's tiny. What has this quality but 42 mm?

using your affiliate link for this sale. Thanks Gary!
Thank you Stephen…really appreciate your support!
Must admit that it’s not a bad looking watch....could be tempted.
It’s very picky, but I never quite understand a watch that you can dive in on a strap that you can’t. I think it has a timeless look
Howdy ! How many gears with the automatic?

A nice simple piece.
Is the 200/100m water resistance of baltany watches actually legit? What's your experience with swimming or showering with them?
I have tested many Chinese watches in a water pressure tester and they generally do very well, I’ve had a couple of spectacular failures…but not many at all
@@ilikewatches Thanks for the insight!
Is this model no longer available?

elle est juste parfaite !! c est ne montre ultra fonctionnelle et élégante
Very nice watch.
Really, no one is going to mention the “nobody does it better” quote 🤷🏻♂️😆
Looking forward to a 40mm sterile dial version.
Get the Thorn A-11
The 'h' is silent in 'homage,' like the 'p' in 'kidney.'
Thank you for the giveaway!
Hey Mark…thanks….I’ll let you have the tracking number in the next day or so…
Way too tiny even for my tiny wife...41mm would be on my wrist by now.
Great review!!
They do have an actual Big Crown Pointer homage on their store you'd probably like more, Gary! Great review as always!
But that's only available in bronze sadly.
😍😍😍
Baltany is definitely the King of military homages
Am I first or not
