    That kick step to lead 2 is my favorite move! Very unpredictable and powerful. I like to feint the jab beforehand, they usually expect a real one to follow up, then boom! 2 from nowhere. I hope i find more techniques that work this well for me. Great channel sir, learning a lot.

    That old Boxing adage “Don’t lead with your right” is not always true as you have shown. Once you get your opponent misdirected, the right lead can be very effective. Thank you both for breaking down the setup moves. Very informative!

      William Davis of course same with the uppercut but I do think leading with an uppercut is riskier than a straight right

      For beginners it ain't recommended to throw lead rights, like it is not recommended to lead with a left hook either, unless it's the check hook

    This is great contend, i enjoy your videos a lot.
    Could you show us in the vital targets series how to throw kidneyshots, straight punches to the ribs "those ones that Naoya Inoue uses" and also punches to the hips " those that frazier used against Ali".
    And a video about the crossguard would be amazing too.

    Great explanations. Too bad coach you didn t pick Mayweathers straight right hand. Not talking about his pull counter, but about how he uses his distance first, then dips down low a bit to his right side hip (without really switching his angle or feet at that point, because his right hand doesn t come from an angle, it actually comes trully straight, that s what makes it extra special) then takes real sneaky small steps to just get in close enough and just pops the straight right hand in from a straight angle. See Canelo fight Round 9 at 1:10 min for the set up. He used that a lot especially against Ortiz, Guerrero and Hatton.

    You have great videos. As a coach I think you should make a few series where you teach something you come up with as a coach with tremendous experience. This is going to be something with great value. Especially if its something you can apply in amature boxing.

  • @robscott351
    @robscott351 5 лет назад +4

    Really nice! Love the "kick step" change of direction when you turn them or get them to follow you. An abrupt cadence change, speeding things up makes this even more effective! Any time you make your opponent have to readjust his distance or alignment, you can hit them while they are adjusting or in transition. Great Video!

    Awesome content as always...
    Coach Tom,i have a question for you about the Left or Lead hook on taller opponents....
    When i throw the left hook with full power(not leaping hook) should i stay low maintaining my fighting stance???when i throw the lead hook with POWER I tend to get up and straighten my legs specially on very taller opponents??? Should i stay low maintaining my fighting stance and lifting my left hand to get them???what would be more powerful straighten the legs or lifting my hand while throwing powerful hooks???I am asking about power hook but not the leaping one...
    Thanks!

    • @WorldClassBoxingChannel
      @WorldClassBoxingChannel  5 лет назад +2

      If you are shorter then sometimes you have to get up and reach a bit, but that doesn't mean you stay there for long! The angles you create will also help alleviate the issue of being exposed when coming forward with the lead hook. Changing levels immediately after throwing the punch also will help. Also remember that punches are MOST effective when "set up" properly! If you can throw the lead hook off of a good set up with a shift, or feint, or level change will really benefit your cause!

    Best boxing channel on youtube. Do some googling on how to grow your channel, cooperate with other, larger boxing channels, do analysis on big boxing matches and reviews etc. Make thumbnails that are more attractive, and try to go viral. RUclips is a tough game, but you're used to a tough fight, aren't you? :D You're buried by the algorithm right now, dig out of it. Your CONTENT is amazing, but you need to be more sleasy to make it.
