In today's video, we will make an easy abstract acrylic painting for beginners with a sponge “Flashing Lights”. I will share with you one of my abstract acrylic “melting” painting techniques on canvas and you will learn how to paint gradient and how to blend acrylic using easy acrylic blending techniques to get smooth color transitions.
In this modern painting demo, you will see a painting process where we will apply sponge painting and scrape painting techniques and find out unusual painting ideas. I hope this art challenge inspires you to try to make a painting without a brush!

I love this and appreciate seeing the variety of tools you used to get your effects. My personal favorite colors I use...I love the earth tones with metalics (copper especially). I often use a deep burgundy to add depth. But...I just love colors and textures in all their majestic hues and forms. I use a lot of texture gels. Your work is exciting, from soft to explosive.

I love it.
I love the movement in this piece. It's wonderful to watch you work and make decisions along the way- it looks intuitive though maybe you have a general plan in mind? I work like that but my plan usually changes along the way. When I am asked this question about color usually I don't answer blues, yet I use a lot of blue- especially prussian blue and paynes gray. I love golds and using gold leaf. I also use a lot of alizarin crimson.

4/25/2021 USA Grandpa Bill: Ru, I think you must have a special mind; like my innate gift has been words, yours is mental pictures of colors and shapes. This painting is again a remarkable example of your prowess. Do you see in your mind the colors and shapes and the swipes before you do the actual painting? Can you direct your mind to look at color combinations and effects to get an idea of what the painting will look like? Or is it all just discovery....do this and that and see what happens? I suspect you are a genius able to see and generally plan before you put it on canvas or board. Whatever it s you are wonderful, your work is wonderful.
