I did a project like this for pictures for my dinning room, but I started with Gesso so all the texture was finished and set before adding paint. Also, I painted over old canvas prints that were no longer wanted.

Textured black is always a great starting point. Pick two or three colors that match your needs/style/scheme and go from there, you won't be disappointed

But it's good for other types of paintings.

And yes, let acrylic paint dry before applying oil paint

Hallo Indie, hab das Bild als Grundlage für mich verwendet und einfachen Sand genommen. Es ist meiner Meinung nach recht gut geworden, obwohl ich keine weiße Farbe verwendet habe. Das hat bei mir einfach nicht so gut ausgesehen. Und es sollte ja vor allem auch keine Kopie deines Werkes sein. Danke nochmal für den Tip und liebe Grüße ♥
If you seal painting, what process or type of acrylic spray do you recommend ?
I wouldn't recommend sealing this kind of painting
And I wouldn't recommend using a spray varnish as it's not considered a professional medium
For regular acrylic painting, I would use professional fluid matte or satin varnish

I've mixed black acrylic paint with some pouring medium. My pouring medium has a glossy finish. Also, instead of pouring medium, you can use a little bit of glossy varnish for acrylic painting.
