Vibe Shearwater KAYAK SETUP - OneObjective with MotorGuide Xi3 - Landing Gear FAIL

- Overview of my Vibe Shearwater 125 kayak setup with some on the water footage from my first trip. Everything worked out great, but I did have an issue with the gear tracks ripping off the kayak due to too much stress from the weight of the kayak on the landing gear. The MotorGuide Xi3 trolling motor is going to allow me to focus on fishing instead of paddling. The OneObjective mounting plate made the install super easy - highly recommended.

I rock a wet suit in the “winter” in Florida. Have the NRS farmer John and it has open arms for paddling. Keeps me warm and not constricted. They really only work when they are wet to keep you warm. Occasionally I’ll have to hop out and walk around the lake to warm up. Great videos here and happy I’ve stubbled across them!!
That outtro-montage was 🔥
Thanks so much for sharing info about you rig. Nice setup, I'm in the market for a yak and guys like you are very helpful
Awesome setup bruhhh...You gotta do an overnight float video on the upper Allegheny. I do a couple every year and the fishing i phenomenal. That thing is perfect for it.
That's awesome. You can sense the complete joy of when you finally get to sit back and just cruise!
With the ctug, I just use two bungies instead of the strap, and clip them onto the drings.
Matt, your new kayak setup is looking good 👍 hoping great fishing success and video catches. See you out on Arthur sometime. 👊🎣🤠
Do you have a parts list for the quick disconnects and such?
What are your options on that trolling motor quick plug? I’ve heard mixed reviews about them melting or catching fire
Hi Derek. Now you've got me worried that the plugs will catch fire lol. I haven't seen those reviews, but they've been OK for me. One of the plugs already died on me within 1 season, so that's my only complaint so far. It was easy enough to remove/replace, so I bought a couple extra...
Great for lakes but would have the survivalbility of a fruit fly on the river.
Like the setup but the battery is overkill you could of gotten a smaller and stronger lithium ion battery
yep, live and learn.
