I never imagined that an eight-year-old video on RUclips will help me in logic than a three thousand pesos per unit, logic lessons my parents paid in a university.
I honestly thought i'll fail my logic class because i did not understand my professor at all. Learning from you gave me hope that not only will i pass, i will pass with an A. You're a life saver!! I want to go to law school after i graduate and will start prepping for the LSAT this month. I wish you taught LSAT video lessons too on youtube, i'd choose your videos over any other study material offered any second.
I have an exam today. I didn't understand 5.2, but after watching this I did a practice exam. After I reviewed my answer I got them correct. It made it easy when you separated the Venn diagrams. My instructor didn't explain it as well as you. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much for posting this, I've been banging my head against the wall for weeks but after watching your videos the lightbulb finally went on! Thank you!
Love from india sir ♥ you is the only one on the youtube how help me to easily test out valid and invalid argument 👍 I am continuously tried to understand this process but now my all problems end with your video. I think it is due to my strong will to understand this topic so that I got your video 😊😄Thanks a lot sir.💐💐
Next week I have a test on syllogisms, so this is really helpful in understanding how to approach this stuff. I still need time to practice but never the less I do understand this and it helps to make the most of it that is possible. Thank you very much :-)!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was able to get the venn diagram tonight when I have been trying to get for 2 weeks from my book and professor couldn't teach me.
Hi. Its counter-intuitive but the rule is simple. When you fill up a section you are actually taking it off the map and out of the equation. For instance, if you diagram an E statement (No S are P) you would "fill" in the football shaped section where the two circles overlap. What that would mean is that there is no section where the two classes (or circles) overlap and hence, both S and P are utterly distinct separate. Does that make sense?
I have just finished watching this video and I'm pretty sure I'll pass my exam tomorrow !!! Thank you so very much . Contrary to my beliefs , this has turned out to be a life-saver and better than what I was taught in class ^.^ #IHadAStupidTeacher -_-
Thank you very much for your video. I have to answer such questions for an acceptance test for medschool and your videos are very helpful. I would like to ask a question: We get a little bit different tasks here with a Major and Minor and five possible answers of which one is “no conclusion is correct”. We can always only choose ONE solution, if there are 2 possible solutions, we have to choose the stronger one. One example: All Parrots are animals Some Birds are Parrots A: All animals are blackbirds B: Some birds are animals -correct C: Some parrots are animals - that could also be correct, or am I mistaken? D: Some Parrots are birds - that could also be correct, or am I mistaken? E: No conclusion is correct. So how do I know then with your method, which answer I have to choose? In courses for the test, we learn to draw a couple of different Venn Diagrams with many combinations to solve the problem. thank you in advance for your help
Can you please explain to me, The determining of the "X" placement? I am still confused. How is it that when you say "Some M are not P" but place an "X" on the border btween the S and M. How is that placement determined?
It's most likely too late, since it seemed you were on a time schedule. But the X is placed on the line ONLY if you have two spots where it COULD go. In the example you pointed out, there were two spots that ARE an M but NOT a P (because they both fall outside of the P circle completely). So because you can't determine which spot it goes in, you must place it on the line.
I am doing some examples of tests questions online, and have run into a question I am unable to get the correct answer. I was hoping you could help me understand. It reads as follows: All I are P No I are G Some G are not P I read this conclusion as being valid, but the answer is indicating that it is invalid. Could you please explain?
Great!! Better than my teacher. Thought I understood it until I started making my flashcards. I want to subscribe. I am. Then how do I get all of your videos when I subscribe? Never used a subscription before. I want those five rules video for If you dont like Venn Diagrams. LOL
Thanks for the video sir..i have doubt in a question..the question is: STATEMENT: All heroes are popular. No hero is kind. CONCLUSION: Some kind are not popular. Some popular are not kind. Which conclusions are correct. it will be great if you explain it by a video..thanks

The middle term is doing all the work and should get more recognition.
😂
Underrated comment.
Stopped going to class because my professor was only confusing me more but I have a 102.5% average! All thanks to you! Love these videos!
All the way from Kenya, I appreciate you for this Mr Thorsby 👍🏾.
I would have failed my intro to logic college course without the help of your videos. thank you SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Thanks for your lesson, I have understood this area well, God bless you
thanks for the great teaching.i was having a real hard time now i feel better about logic.
Your videos are the best.
This was a great help, thank you Professor!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was able to get the venn diagram tonight when I have been trying to get for 2 weeks from my book and professor couldn't teach me.
Thank you. I'm literally gonna pass my exam today because of this explanation

Thanks for the videos Professor Thorsby, I think you might just get me through logic class!!
Thank you so much for sharing this for all to see. I would be doomed for my online logic class if it were not for your videos!
Great video. Very well explained. Thank you so much, you helped me a ton! Cheers!
Thank you so much man, this video was a life saver.
Thank you so much for this video...
It has been so helpful...
This helped out immensely! Thank you so much.
Maybe I'm the only one that ended up with more questions after watching the first half of the video than before watching any part of the video
ugh i keep missing it... what does M, S & P stand for?
I have just finished watching this video and I'm pretty sure I'll pass my exam tomorrow !!! Thank you so very much . Contrary to my beliefs , this has turned out to be a life-saver and better than what I was taught in class ^.^

please include some examples with 3 and 4 statements.
Clear and informative, now i know how to do it now =D thanks from Malaysia
I am doing some examples of tests questions online, and have run into a question I am unable to get the correct answer. I was hoping you could help me understand.
It reads as follows:
All I are P
No I are G
Some G are not P
I read this conclusion as being valid, but the answer is indicating that it is invalid. Could you please explain?
sir simply i would say YOU ARE PERFECT....
Extremely helpful
Muchas gracias doncito !
Thank you for your help. This is a very helpful video.
AWESOME VIDEO! Thank you very much!
thank you, very clear explanation!
SO is it true that all

AEE are invalid
IAI - 4 are valid
and so on?

i didnt get the concept of filling up of the circles :-s
thank you sssooooo much for doing this ❤❤❤ i think first example you give the figure is 3 not 2 . thank you
Thanks, cleared up a lot for me!
Thank you this is now so much easy for me !!!
Great instruction plus what a Hot professor! Thanks.

Please help :(
Im so lost
AOO i think you did wrong.
It's not wrong because AOO-2 is an unconditionally valid argument.
I'm not passing my class. This shot doesn't make sense.
