From the various videos of the slums in Philippines - the raised homes and garbage dumped below them seems to indicate that every year a periodic heavy rainfall comes and washed it away into the sea. Because from what i am seeing so far, the people living there do not seem too keen on cleaning their garbage.
And thus the cycle repeats because no way the garbage will stay in that same level for it will pile up after years of accumulation.
Correct me if i am wrong on the rainy season flush system. 🤷‍♂️
in both cases it is polluting the dwelling area or shifting the pollution to the sea.

What is sad is the corruption of their government officials and politicians.
But what is beautiful is the people finding their happiness amidst all of these dismal living conditions.
The Filipinos are due for another revolution against corruption and inequality of living standards. ✊
