And the visiting Gaboon was just crazy. You looked so close from the front but it all made sense when you passed beside her. She felt safe when she could see you but not when you went out of sight. Just incredible work by you.

it takes a large amount of balls to have your face that close to a Gaboon viper. yeah looking at this vid just makes me nervous.

There's something so aesthetically pleasing about how the snake's jaws flex in and out when they drink water.
Also, absolutely GORGEOUS gaboon. She's a hefty gal too.

I love how much you seem actually interested in the animals themselves, and not just on a macho trip about how dangerous they are. They seem healthy and happy, and that's wonderful.

"I'm going to leave the room so that he can eat without stress or strain, and so that he can get bigger and stronger and more capable of killing me with a single bite..." LMAO!
Your fascination with "your" animals is very refreshing. Love the way you love them. Keep up the good work.

Every time I see your Gaboon's I think of those two little kids that were playing with one in their garage when it crawled in. This happened in Florida a few years back with a LARGE Gaboon and the kids were 5 and 8 years old and were very lucky and didn't get tagged by it. I thought the animal control officer was going to have a heart attack when he finally seen that it was a large viper. SCARY

I used to keep western diamondback and canebrake rattlers... my buddy always had love for copperheads... he used free hand his coppers all time they were very lazy and gentle, until one day he got bitten... since that day on we learned lesson, NEVER TRUST A VENOMOUS SNAKE! no matter how long you had it or how calm it been... I never free handed any of my rattlesnakes or venomous snakes, I always used restraining tube or hook ... to each his own

In the series Fatal Attraction a woman named Anita Finch was bitten by her Gaboon Viper which she let out of it's cage while she was cleaning it. The cop that entered her trailer to check on her when she didn't show for work for several days said it looked like a murder scene inside due to the amount of blood everywhere. Apparently the venom can result in massive bleeding from ever orifice of the body.
Yours looks like a giant jewel!

That snakes skin is STUNNING!! Can’t help but look and see all along it’s back, the pattern of cream coloured rectangles look like the old silver razor blades that my dad used to use! And some Turkish barbers use on a so called “Open razor” shave! And I can remember this type of snake that I’ve seen it before! It has HUGE fangs and pump out so much ml of venom when biting or getting milked!! It’s SO toxic and it’s in a small way got and looks thick like syrup but just not as thick! Just the amount of venom they use is extraordinary!! Stunning pattern! Don’t even think the venom would kill you! You would die due to its huge fangs and be stabbed to death!!! So temperamental these snakes are!!

In the wild, King Cobras are mostly a snake-eater and can live exclusively on snakes but will also eat rodents and amphibians if they come across them. They also are the largest cobra species and are rumored to be one of the world's most intelligent snakes. So most likely, they are an opportunistic feeder in the wild and catch whatever smaller animal that is unlucky enough to get envenomated. They basically eat whatever the hell they want. This is why they are called KING Cobras!
