Vader is such a expanded on complex character you have to appreciate everyone who had a hand in expanding this character and the story in general it is truly a masterpiece.
A subject that I've been most curious about. While the likes of Vader and Dooku focus their efforts on mastery of the blade, and redefining their jedi teachings, this is something Darth Sidious held little to no respect for. Despite this, Palpatine's excessive use of Force abilities is chaotic in nature, and often hinders his other senses, essentially giving him 'tunnel vision' while directing Force Lightning onto Luke Skywalker. But with a dark sider who focuses their willpower and resolve on the blade, it allows for one to remain more composed, and more calculated during combat. That's what I particularly liked about Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones; while he had the ability of Force Lightning under his command, it's clear that his ruthless lightsaber discipline is what made him stand out from other villains in the films.
That's shat I love about Darth Vader he has all some of the villains characteristics Mauls Anger and Hatred Dookus Discipline and Control and Greivouss' mostly machine than man at that point
Palpatine always has the control/broad perspective when using the Dark side (Jedi could not sense him) and he easily dismantled the jedi counsel in Revenge of the Sith with precision. Palpatine is first a Sith then a fighter which is why he appears to be chaotic. Dooku was and will always be a duelist first, which is why he did not rely on the force as much. Vader is more of a mix of the two since you can see him freely using the force in duels but also being very precise with the lightsaber.
You know when i first started watching i was like "whoa this dude really knows the lightsaber forms like THAT?" now i feel almost there from watching lyour videos. Love this shit man.
This explains neatly why Dooku and Vader were at the finest when using highly controlled aggression and rage. Not wild abandon to the dark side. Their calculation made them far more dangerous. It took Sidious, a being born OF the Dark Side to exceed that.
This is something I also agreed with from the 4:00 marker. Vader cursed the Force in Dark Lord: Rise of Darth Vader. It was while he was in the Jedi Temple I believe. Psychologically, he would seek that which is more reliable. Great video.
If Anakin had the same self discipline and ambition Revan did the heights he would have reached by revenge of the Sith alone would have been mind blowing to see. Revan Maximized his potential and was the first Jedi to get all the knowledge from a master and went from master to master until he learned everything and gained many different insights about the force. Anakin never remotely had an inner drive like this but he definitely gained a portion of it after becoming a cyborg and did everything he could to maximize the potential he had left. Anakin during ROS thought he was greater than Yoda…confidence is good but when you think you’re THAT good you limit your own capabilities and ability to grow which worked against himself incredibly.
@@TaraCicoraAnakin lacked proper guidance. The era he was born in was the worst era of Jedi in terms of their overall alignment to the light. Too in love with politics and rules over the foundation of what binds people together. Grown comfortable in their fortress of power while blind to the threat looming right over them.
Dooku’s dissection reminds me of his fights with Obi Wan and Anakin on Geonosis and over Coruscant: On Geonosis he effortlessly beat both but over Coruscant he had to use the Force on Obi Wan twice to beat him. The first which temporarily separated the two Jedi and the second at Palpatine’s command when he was meant to kill Kenobi but refused. If he faced Obi Wan alone by that point who relied on the Force for an impenetrable defense he wouldn’t have been able to defeat him and Obi Wan would end up winning if the Count did not flee. He also opened both of his fights with Kenobi and Yoda with Force lightning before relying completely on his lightsaber.
People always shit on the Jedi, but Jedi is all about control. Sith is about embracing your passions. But whenever we hear about how strong the likes of Sidious and Vader are, they always have a mix of skill and control. This is actually quite hypocritical of the Sith to shit on the Jedi's philosophy, because if we look at it more carefully, the control that Jedis promote is in fact, the core aspect that made these Force Users, regardless of Light, Dark or any other sides as exceptionally powerful as they are.
I love how comic books have alternate realities to explore "what if" scenario's. Like I wonder how Anakin would have turned out if it had been Dooku who had been his mentor instead of Obiwan. Encouraging his relationship with Padme, teaching him both the light, and dark side. Anakin facing Obiwan without the emotions of friendship causing conflict within him when they dueled, and having been taught how to use the dark side.
Could you please make a video about Huyang having sith lightsabers in his records, and a video on where sith get the materials for their lightsabers when making one.
If Anakin had Luke’s mentality before the start of the clone wars are he would have been so much more powerful than he is as during the clone wars.imagine a universe in which Anakin enjoyed and scrolled though Jedi text too learn the deeper mysteries of the force. Anakin was a warrior who payed little attention too the greater mysteries of the force unless they could serve him in the here and now if he had Luke’s dedication and studious nature when it came too the living force he would of been unstoppable
One of the hidden lessons here that the only reason Duku and Vader were so elite compared to others is because they were actually some of the most balanced in their understanding of the Force and value of lightsabers. Key word: balance. Balance is the ultimate the power.
I assumed that at least part of it was the Force bubble most Force-users seem to have around themselves; the field that protects them frequently from telekinetic disarms, mind tricks, and Force chokes. Vader couldn't use Force lightning, which breached such shields, while other telekinetic tricks either might not work, or simply weren't direct enough. The lightsaber was armor-piercing, even though practically no one wore armor, and his skill was immense, but I feel like some of it was simply it worked, it worked immediately, and it showed his skill, where various Force powers were either less effective against the targets that deserved that level of effort, and reminded him of how much more powerful he could have been, but had lost.
he put all of his force power behind his lightsaber usage, if i recall correct. He relied mostly on martial, vicious techniques meant for quick, precise kills and strikes.
Haven’t watched the video yet but maybe he knew he would never be able to beat sidious in pure force ability so he knew he needed to find another path to overthrow his master.
I always believed that a lightsaber is partly or wholly powered by the force (why only force users should wield a lightsaber), so using a lightsaber is using the force (shown when quigon used the lightsaber against the blastdoor)
Sorry maybe I'm wrong but anakin wasn't in the room when Quigon got killed. He did see him fight him before he got on the ship before that. If that's what you meant.
Question and idk if you made a video on this or not but the emperor made Vaders armor to make him weak against him yet in clone wars we seen Yoda absorb his lightning using the force and we seen mace reflect it back with Vader being one of the strongest force users and with access to holocrons wouldn’t he be able to counter the emperor to overthrow him?
Yoda used a force technique called Tutaminis which used to be more prevalent in the order but at the time of late republic era most Jedi did not know or use it as there were not many dark siders around using force lightning and I don't think Vader could use it anyway since both of his hands were robotic (I am not sure on this part?)
nah. tulak had a hack where he grew stronger after he slew his foes if i remember correctly. his dark side boost was higher and he was armored. dooku could parry and counter for a while but tulak is also a vet. light slashes won’t do it and dismemberment will be difficult with tulak’s raw strength

I mean, as a jedi anakin was a huge lightsaber nerd so its only natural for him to still use a lightsaber even as Darth Vader
Sidious may have been stronger, but Vader had a better saber record and I think he saw himself superior, one of the few things to hold on to.
