    I use those open-pile shaggy cloths for washing. They absorb a huge amount of water and present a very soft interface to the car surface. They are yellow, so you can see the dirt on them. You can turn them over to get two passes on the washed area before rinsing. And they have very fine straight fibres so dont trap particles as far as I can tell. Washing mitts are not a great idea in my opinion - too much surface area, to many crevices for dirt to get trapped, too bulky to rinse thoroughly, take too long to dry, and the fibers are not straight.

    I bought 10 Korean edgeless deep pile ultra plush 500gsm microfibres, can’t remember the brand but they look just like the eagle edgeless ones , but there’s so much lint coming off them , looks really bad on my black car , maybe they are ok on other colour cars , tried everything to get rid of the lint , like add vinegar to wash and bicarbonate soda, soaking them , using a dryer to dry them , put one in boiling water, lint roller, I did wash them separate of course but no matter what I tried the lint won’t go away , they are new and hopefully someone can come up with a solution ?

    After polishing try washing in the new Bilt Hamber ceramic infused shampoo. Seems to leave an almost flawless finish. I applied through a snow foam lance. How long it lasts is anybodies guess. Love and peace ✌

    One question. Is there a wrong way to use a IPA wipedown? I mean, does it matter if you dont use the IPA strait away after every polishing set or do you polish the whole car then do a wipedown with the IPA?

    • @forensicunplugged4295
      @forensicunplugged4295  3 года назад

      wipe off with cloth.. spray IPA mix (no more an 25% IPA) onto the panelwipe it over panel. flip cloth to clean side and buff the film till it vapes. and surface looks clean

    Hi Jon, another great video. Could you tell me the difference between a pre wax cleanser and a polish? Or are they the same thing?

    • @forensicunplugged4295
      @forensicunplugged4295  3 года назад +1

      a pre wax cleaner is a product you put down and buff before waxing the car. A pre wax cleaner can also be referred to as a glaze or sometimes even a AIO. they typically contain abrasives and solvents to clean and burnish the surface and fillers to mask swirls.
      A polish on the other hand is a typically a pure abrasives used to correct the paintwork and you buff the polish off and degrease and you leave nothing behind.
      Although its only recently polish came to mean abrasives.. technically a polish as an industry term is not always abrasives... but thats the rought gist of it.

    If you don't do the panel wipe does it effect the finish between polishing say if you use scholl s3 gold xxl and then moving to s40 and then move to a wax like soft 99 fusso?

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing 4 года назад +1

      theres a difference with durability when something is applied to a properly clean surface. An oily surface the material doesnt bond. Yes things like old school oily paste waxes its not so important because the wax layer gets eroded off the car a lot quicker. but any more modern protection product that needs to properly bond to the surface it makes a difference.

    Should you use a panel wipe after using SRP?

    • @forensicunplugged4295

    With Covid there’s been a shortage of IPA. So I tried odorless mineral spirits and was dissapointed. Around 60-70F and didn’t flash off how I wanted. Anyone used denatured alcohol “fuel”? gonna try it soon

      just buy Koch Chemie SIL its price has stayed the same and you can think of it as 99% prf IPA and its cheaper now than 5 litres of 99% PRF IPA
