On March 13, Putin in an interview said that Macron was acting "bitter" because African nations were pushing France out, while improving ties with Russia. Macron lives in his colonial past and has found French influence in the world in decline. Ditto for the British, French and Germans. Russia and China keep increasing their influence in the world without military threat and conflicts. For them, it costs very little because of the west's hubris against global south countries. Now with BRICS, they are gaining a voice in global affairs and at maturity of BRICS with at least 40 countries, their power is their energy and mineral wealth reserves, to which the G7 countries have little to none. Only the US has energy reserves, but it needs to export much of it because it cannot refine its own oil and thus importing oil that they can refine. That import could be restricted in the future forcing the US to build new or modify existing refineries to refine their domestic oils. The future will be a power struggle over energy and minerals. Those that have, will be the winners of tomorrow.
