This randomly popped into my recommended and genuinely thought you were a big RUclipsr who had tons of videos already and done a bunch of challenges. Simply because it was well edited, kept me interesting and you were very entertaining. Definitely got yourself another sub! an edit for those who keep spamming me with "how is 75k not a lot" when made the original comment he was still under 200 and it's really impressive he managed to get this much in such a short time. Proud of the guy and still watching the content cause very much entertained.
I remember doing this on my ps3 years ago, It was unbelievably soul crushing and mind melting. You did great on your run, was a blast to watch! Not sure if you'd play the game again, but a tip nonetheless, at 21:03 in your video, you can literally just run laps around the area while waiting for ellie to open the door and then book it to the door once its open. It was a huge help to me in doing the run.
I remember how grueling this was for myself, I died at the very end just the same! Leapers and Pukers are indeed the most dangerous enemies, but you can grab the Puker's vomit projectile with kinesis and fire it back for a one-shot kill. Leapers unfortunately are a menace no matter what, so they become stasis priority targets. Props to you for your perseverance, Dead Space 2 was absolutely no joke in terms of game difficulty for its time.
Congrats on getting this. I remember doing it long time ago and enjoyed the challenge. The one that almost broke me was Mein Leben in Wolfenstein II. Beat the game on the hardest difficulty with zero checkpoints/saves in a single sitting, basically death results in starting a new game.
@@xxprototypexx5056 yeah no I mean don’t forget Dead Space 1, even though the story of the sequel is pretty good, the feel of the first will still be good, and oh damn seeing the Marker in Chapter 11 was so cool
Just discovered your channel and started to binge. I've actually done a challenge run of Dead Space 2 as EarthGov security. The security suit, pulse rifle and contact beams only and beat it. Stasis was my BEST FRIEND. That and kinesis.
I actually recently beat this achievement! It took over 4 years and ALOT of time and practice. The only reason I survived was the pulse rifle alt fire at the final push it saved that fight for me. My combo of weapons was Plasma Cutter( obvi), Pulse Rifle (Anti light and stagger weapon and AOE weapon), and my favorite weapon. The seeker rifle. It is OP as crap. It doesn't need to be leveled up at all as soon as you get it and its purpose is Anti armor and heavy enemy. Hope this comment helps someone else if they are attempting this. Good luck! @Snamwiches
Ahh yes, Hard-to-the-core. I remember getting this and every other achievement for DS 1-3 years ago. Definitely was a challenge. Took me even longer for DS3 because of co-op. But, it was fun as hell. Brings back some good memories too just thinking about it. Anyway, I'm happy for you, man. Congratulations. Edit: I played DS2 so damn much that was able to get through this taking zero damage. Having strategies and knowing basically every inch of the game made it easy to just shit all over each and every necromorph. I mean, just shit all in their faces I was so nice/skilled. 😎
I’m subbed loved the video & am a massive fan of dead space series, also I’ve beaten every game on every difficulty I would even do challenge runs like only plasma cutter. Summer & an Xbox am I right
Believe it or not, besides the 3 saves hard core is actually set on survivalist difficulty instead of zealot. Just IMAGINE how much more difficult it would have been if it was set on zealot difficulty
The fact that you did this without knowing you can use telekinesis to weaponize their necros body parts is what's most impressive to me. Its such an ammo saver.
I'm honestly surprised he didn't know that. The second game basically forces you to use this mechanic at the start to kill like 5 necromorphs before getting the plasma cutter.
Im pretty sure he knew, he's played it before. At least he says he does in the beginning of the video when says "going back and getting the hardest acheivements in my favorite games"
32:10 - Honestly I didn't think it was possible to die in this last spot, like holy crap that had to be heartbreaking after getting so far and even beating the final boss. Nice to see you pushed past and earned the Achievement.
Its why I legitimately hate those post-final boss run segments so many games have. They're cool setpieces the first time, but after that they're kind of just annoying usually, and dying there kills the vibe.
I died on my run last night... It broke me ngl 🤧, but my last save was chapter 13 right b4 the laser room so its not far I took a break n I'm now apart of the 3.0% club (:
The memories this brought back... I remember when this DS2 initially came out, my buddies and I hopped on Xbox Live party and competed for $500 (Each person putting $100 into the prize pool) to see who could get this achievement first. We would only play when everyone was available and the rage you would hear in that party when someone died was unbelievably hilarious.
As a fellow achievement hunter, it's great to see content like this. Literally watched your entire completion log video and instantly got hooked! Keep up the good content and I look forward to your channel growth 👍
It's great to see that alot of these are games I've also played and for the most part got the platinum trophies i remember the mental pain some of them caused lol
When I first ever played this game I was too scared to run up to the bodies to stomp them so I would kinesis the bodies to me and when you shoot the bodies back that alone will cause enough damage to drop the resources right in front of you so you can hard camp without having to worry about missing resources unless they're out of kinesis range
Only stomp an alive necromorph if you de-legged it and hit it with stasis, it's far safer and guarantees a kill without wasting much ammo. Even more safe if the necromorph already slashed at you from the ground and missed, since it'll take some time for the next slash. Of course I'd only do this against a single Slasher, as if there's a big enough horde you may get ganged up by the rest.
I didn't see him use the enemy spikes with kinesis. Or at least half way through I haven't seen him do it yet. Good for him for playing this without knowing that basic ammo saving trick.
@@KaoticReach1999 again I’m pretty sure he mean like he didn’t 100% plan it out and like go and remember where all the enemies spawn and all that kind of stuff
oh man, this reminds me of the impossible run on dead space 3. So much memorizing rooms and boss encounters. The Dead space franchise have such good games.
I'll never forget this achievement. Although, it was "trophy" for me. Platinuming all of the Dead Space was a MUST for me because of how much I LOVED these games. Congrats man. Learning what points you wanted to save was the most important for me
I remember doing this…I had just used my final save before the eye scene and anytime I died I’d have to relive that super stressful part…so anybody out there that’s doing this challenge USE THE FINAL SAVE AFTER
@@willmccutcheon218 I risked it for the biscuit and did it afterward. LOL There was a guide I followed where you would save at some key moments, and one of them was, "Don't fail the eye scene"
I can appreciate that, as I used to be an achievement hunter in the 360 days, but it became too much like work, and I don't play games to put in 100 hour work weeks.
@@m0002856 you're a monster!!! There's a degree of zen attached I feel. I saved right b4 it n failed. On a seperte play through attempting a no save game I completed it easily, like you know you can't fail.
See I fucked up and used my last save like a chapter or 2 before the eye poker. The one and only time I ever died to it was on impossible and I was so traumatized by it I put the game down and never played it again.
Adding in the Halo track during the final push section was fantastic. I must say I am very thankful the RUclips algorithm suggested this channel. Thus content is outstanding and right up my alley. Thank you for producing and editing all of this.
To this day this remains one of my most heart pounding, nerve wracking and bloody frustrating trophies to have ever achieved but it's also one i look back on with great pride to have gained
Turns out you can generate Power Nodes, Credits, and Semiconductors repeatedly by way of an items glitch in the first chapter, which is _not_ cheating given the fact that: 1. The prize item for Hard Core is the Hand Cannon, so the aforementioned exploit is effectively your reward in _advance_ and the challenge of limited saves, quick time events, mini games, etc. remain 2. The DLC Detonators do not require Credits to withdraw from the Store, so you could generate and sell Mines indefinitely just by unloading them before depositing back the Detonators (free of charge for PC users) 3. The developers had years to address this, but never did; Visceral approved these acts of defiance against EA or simply was not concerned, the satisfaction of the player matters the most either way and responding to necromorphs in kind after multiple defeats during Hard Core is a catharsis without equal
My scariest moments were the space flight sections, the last couple of rooms with the Ubermorph, and the final boss because Nicole insta kills you if you get too close. I used my saves about 1/3 of the way, 2/3 and one closer to the end right before the eye room. Very tense. Dead Space 3 has unlimited saves but one life. Very tense.
@@Snamwiches there are just TOO MANY instant death flying sections. That last one on the way up to the moon, holy Jesus I was clenched. When I cleared that last bit of debris I remembered to breathe lmao! You did great here seeing as you're new to it. A bunch of these deaths had me yelling at the screen "NOOOOOO BROTHEEEER!" My grandma thought I was crazy.
Nicole's instant kill is such bullshit I damaged her when she was vulnerable and then she respawned she was so close to me I couldn't get away form her in time and got killed and my last save was chapter 8.
@@Snamwiches I did it recently on PC you can biff it pretty easy. When you are running low on health, ammo, or maybe in a bad situation you can quit go to a work bench in a test room then go back with more ammo and health. The only problem is the instant deaths are pretty bad and it sends you to the beginning. Hardest part is the climbing sections. Good Luck.
This is my favorite Dead Space game! I remember getting this trophy and telling my friends I finally got the platinum. They didn't believe me until I showed them the pew pew gun lol
Ah yes, I remember getting the PS3 trophy for this. I had my saves very strategically picked out and I knew exactly which upgrades and weapons I would use at every step of the way (because I went through the game in Zealot mode prior to get an idea of what I should do). Didn't die a single time during the hardcore run. I still gotta do Dead Space 3 on hardcore though...
I remember doing the same! I think I only died once during the actual DS2 game hardcore run. I think it was chapter 6, the first time you fight those darn raptor necros that peak around a corner and charge you. The reason why I said the actual DS2 game is cause I died like 5 times at the end of the game. Not during the final boss, but during the end credits when you have to fly to the ship to escape. I have NO idea why, I never once died in that section in all my previous playthroughs, but during the hardcore run, I died SO many times lol. Outside of that, though, I didn't think hardcore was too bad. DS3 is pretty easy imo. Only part I died on was the cliff climb when the debris fall. Idk why but I can never get those jumps right lol. Good luck!
I planned everything and still died 3 times lol. Dead Space 2 is, in my opinion, the best in the series and I'm happy I completed this horrendous mode so many years ago. I can't help but think this might influence my positive opinion on 2
Dead space 3 on hardcore is not that hard. But it's miserable to watch all 3 hours of cutscenes. What i did is played with friend that was a host, and when he died i played the same chapter but alone. It's basically second chance but without friends
To be honest, I remember back in late December of 2017 when I was about 13 years old, this achievement gave me the most trouble. I feel like Chapter 10 was the hardest due to the length along with the fact that you could die easily, but I managed to get past that chapter with the Forged Engineering Suit and Contact Beam. On the Xbox 360, I made my first save in Chapter 6 before the fight with the Leapers and Pregnants, my second save in Chapter 10 in the room with the static screens, and then my third and final save in Chapter 13 in the room before the eye poke machine. It was quite a tough difficulty but when I slammed Nicole and the Marker's heart with the fully upgraded Contact Beam as well make it into the gunship with Ellie, I got out of my couch and started celebrating! I felt so relieved and amazed with my accomlpishment since it was done on the Xbox 360. Overall, Hardcore mode is definitely tough but the Pulse Rifle and Contact Beam will save your ass at times.
Definitely. Did the run a servel times after my first win. I mainly use the ripper in my run. Save 1 before the church/spider fight chapter 5 Save 2 chapter 11 Save 3 chapter 13
I remember back then I was playing so much DS2 prior to trying Hardcore mode. And somehow I was lucky enough to make it all the way to the second disc and make my first save in Chapter 9. I never felt more stressed out lmao
I'm pretty dure I used to pulse rifle or whatever it was called in my Hardcore run. It's definitely one of my proudest achievements in gaming. The top being getting the Platinum for Vanquish when there were no guides available for Challenge 6. I just had to practice it and figure out what works. I think it took me 6+ hours of grinding it over and over...
The hallways running away from the Ubermorph absolutely broke me to the point I gave up on this challenge. It was absolutely PAINFUL to lose there again and again.
Nothing was worse in the first Dead Space than needing that one trophy of completing it on the hardest setting, getting all the way to almost the end boss only to encounter a game breaking glitch and having to start from scratch. That part when you have to drag those pillars on rails through doorways one of the doors only opened half way and it couldn't be dragged through to the next room. Re-loaded and experienced same thing over and over. No saves a level or two back either so was left with no other option 😩 Got there in the end though and still one of my favourite games ever.
A couple of pro tips for people still trying to do this: 1. Always plan your saves. The best place for your 1st save is after you've gone through the tormentor segment as the room that comes after that throws a few pregnants and a dozen Leapers, the 2nd should be at the industrial segment where iedmann activate a buch of machinery to kill you in zero G as navigating through it can be risky even if you've done it several times before, the 3rd and final save should be when you'v gotten to government sector and let all the necromorphs in by cutting the power(people will argue that the segment where you poke your eye out should be the 3rd save, but the next room after killing the power has a ton of necromorphs in it and it honestly isn't that far from the eye poke segment). 2. Carefully pick what weapons you will use on the run, it does absolutely matter. You should always have 1 reliable weapon(Plasma cutter, Contact beam), 1 long ranged weapon(seeker rifle, javelin gun) short ranged gun(ripper, force gun) and 1 gun for very specific situations( Ion detonator for stalkers, pulse rifle for the swarm or pack) Once you reached the late game(just before you take the elevator to the marker) sell all of your weapons except the Contact beam, buy a shit ton of power nodes to upgrade it for the stasis effect along with a ton of ammo(to the point that only one inventory row doesn't have it). Not only do you now have a heavy hitting weapon, you have one that can significantly slow down the ubermorph regenerator and other necromorphs around it while blowing all their limbs off and cankill the final boss in just a few shots.
I did Pulse Rifle just for the Pack. But side note, since there are so many Pack their corpses have to despawn, but so does the loot in their bodies! Unless you shoot the Pack member once its dead one more time to get them to drop the loot, it will stay, and you can move on to the next one
@@Lucios1995 I believe the flamethrower can solve that problem completely as the flames sticking to the body is counted in game as damaging it and will cause the items to pop out automatically. If I remember that part of the flamethrower correctly. Correct me if Im wrong.
I always stuck to 3 weapons on my playthrough. Plasma Cutter, pulse rifle, and Contact Beam. The Plasma Cutter was my primary, pulse was for pack, and contact beam was for brutes.
Some pretty good tips here. As far as guns go... short ranged, I always go with the Ripper. Except against nasty @ss Spitters. I just catch and thrown their spits right back at them.
Bro i thought you were definitely a huge RUclipsr but you're like me but way better! 🤣🤣 im revisiting the Dead Space series as we speak too. I'm beating Dead Space 2 right now on Zealot to knock the rust off before I even try Hard Core lol I am literally having dreams about this game dude. Sure I played it in 2011 but I didn't REALLY understand it's full potential of greatest with the gameplay AND the lore.....plus I'm on PC now 😆 This video was amazing and is the type of content we all wanna see. Keep it up bro. Edit : LMFAO dude 4:53 is every experienced gamers reaction when they walk in the big rooms like that on Dead Space 🤣 I always say "yeaaahhh this doesn't look like a room I'm about to get ganged on it at all..." 😆
When I did my Dead Space 2 hardcore run back in the day I remember pushing on and on and on, never actually pausing cause I kept thinking "Let's see if i can keep going..." and ended up clearing it in a single sitting with only one death due to accidentally destroying the CEC building's airlock window by accident and being unable to shoot the latch in time. My first save was right as I got to the Church of Unitology, 1.5 was using the Xbox's Disc Save bit, second was right after the Ishimura, and then the third, which I absolutely made sure to save, was before the eye-poke machine.
That's the same save uses I also did except I used the 1st save after disc 1. Because of this video I now know the game was saved after reaching 1.5. If only I knew that earlier. :(
@@Snamwiches Thanks! I played through the game a few times before considering doing Hardcore so I learned a few tricks or where to create chokepoints. Like one neat thing I learned was that if you are not in the same room as a bustable window, and far enough at least, when you break it it'll suck all the enemies out but it won't grab you. So you just stand there while the window continues sucking for about 10 seconds, then it'll auto-close itself. Course now that you've done Dead Space 2 Hardcore, curious if you'll try Dead Space 3's Hardcore. Infinite Saves so you can quit and load in whenever you want, but die and you begin the game from scratch,
@@Grimno If I do it'll probably be after Calisto and the Remake come out at the earliest. Trying to not get burnt out on Survival Horror so I can enjoy those to the fullest. It's something I definitely have planned for the future though!
I did this achievement when the game first came out and I will never forget it. It wasn't hard, but I never felt so traumatised after finally turning the console off. That final flight where you have to jet to the departing spaceship where every nudge in the wrong direction was a one hit kill, emotional damage.
Ah, yes, I remember my hard core run quite fondly. It was great fun and just a fantastic game. One of the best weapons for harder difficulties would be the contact beam, and use its alternate fire mode. Make sure you upgrade it and it puts all enemies around you in to stasis for a decent amount of time allowing you to pick them off or just skip them entirely. All I used for my hard core run was the plasma cutter and contact beam, and I put all upgrades on these two weapons only.
i'm not usually big on channels like this, but you have a good screen presence and (most importantly) you don't interrupt yourself every 10 seconds. The editing is well done, the jokes were solid and cheesy, and nothing overstayed its welcome. Subbed!
Well I know why you had that final death: you didn’t have the Advanced Suit on! You can’t finish the game without the coolest suit on 😆 Well done. Just beat this myself two weeks ago
I did this achievement recently, it was the only one missing to 100%, my last achievement before that one was Feb 11 2011, it took me 11 years to go back and 100%. And that achievement nearly broke me, the trek from chapter 9 to 13 (My Save checkpoints) was horrendous. Love the Vid
I vividly remember the absolute stress this put me through. It was definitely one of the hardest challenges in gaming I’ve ever undertaken. I somehow managed to complete hardcore without dying a single time and even managed to save my third and final save for that flying section at the end of the game just out of pure paranoia. I was pleasantly pleased with the ridiculous foam finger gun haha.
@@K177ER77 Nice work man, I can’t quite remember my exact save spots but I know for a fact I saved before all of those parts where you have to fly through debris fields. I was so paranoid I would screw up in those sections.
Fun fact, you can stasis an infector and kill it before it has a chance to make a necromorph... Which will definately make your run at least marginally better.
This brings back memories of high school, staying up all night, and the satisfaction when I originally got this achievement on Xbox live with only 0.02% of people having it. I was so proud that day.
I remember 100%ing both DS 1&2 back in the day. The grind was real! I was tactically saving my saves in DS 2, and I saved my first save for around Ch6 if I can remember. I did eventually manage to do a run with zero deaths but that was after a lot of tries.
This achievement wasn’t really that hard to get. It was my third play through, after starting on Hard then beating it on Zealot as well. By that time I knew the game pretty well. The three saves is what probably keeps most people from trying it. Not because that’s hard but because of the time investment between saves which could be a few hours.
@@Snamwiches I got this platinum when I was a kid and was brand new to the series never playing the first. 1st attempt I made it to chapter 11 with out saving and then died. 2nd attempt I decimated the game like breezed through it. Devil may cry 5 is alot harder than this platinum.
@@mel-el5862 yeah I will agree there that it's a hard platinum but it's hard for different reasons DMC games require a serious time investment to get to the skill level required to beat the harder difficulties let alone SSS rank them dead space doesn't require the same level of time investment as that does so I still don't see the comparison
So for anyone else. Kinesis is incredibly good. Get muscle memory for cutting off the arm and then immediately grabbing it out of the air for a massive damage spike. Saves ammo and speeds up kill times! And the room you saved for with the infinitely spawning enemies, if I'm not mistaken you can literally just run in circles until Ellie gives you the all clear.
Just found your channel and subscribed. You put in a lot of effort into these videos and give a lot of your mental state 😂 also your commentary is solid and quite funny. FYI if you ever decide to try Dead Space again you can use your kinesis on their limbs to impale them as well. Helps when you’re low on ammo.
The man at the start is actually the main character of another dead space game, and after all the effort you go through in that game it’s sad to see him die so easily, and turn into a necromorph
Man the kinesis saved my ass sooo many times when I did this run! Low ammo means you gotta improvise and throwing everything was super helpful; spikes, explosive barrels, crap to break windows and clear out a room....horrific but fun memories lol Plus you can catapult the door batteries from across the room so you can focus on skipping enemy encounters or actually killing them.
The breaking glass windows with the vacuum events and exploders were my biggest fear when going for this trophy. Either can instant kill you if you’re not careful or situationally aware. A platinum trophy and the foam finger gun were worth the stress that came with finishing Hardcore. It also helps that I love this game and look forward to the remake of DS1 and Callisto
I having having a seriously hard time waiting for the remake. I hope they do it justice. To me, dead space is seriously the pinnacle of all horror, it’s far and away the most terrifying piece of fiction I can think of and I want to play it again with modern graphics.
Oh yeah I remember doing this as a wee lad on 360. I remember thinking it was going to be hard. But when I realized you had a free save technically when you swap discs it became a lot easier. It honestly probably would've been harder if I hadn't already played the game to death prior; I really, really loved Dead Space 1 and 2 and damn EA for doing it and Visceral dirty the way they did.
Hardcore goes so raw honestly. I've been playing the game for years, and just finished my second Hardcore run. What I've learned is that it's basically survivalist difficulty with a save limit.
So glad this popped up in my recommended. This video was so entertaining and funny! I definitely had to drop a sub! You got an interesting and fresh series here, and I totally think you should run with it. Keep up the amazing work!
This was super nostalgic for me, did this achievement back in high school with a good friend. The final run at the end was super intense, and i remember dumping all my upgrades into the pulse rifle and buying as much ammo for is as possible
This was probably one of my favorite achievements to unlock, it was me and a couple friends watching each stressful moment and figuring out when the best time to save, it was a blast to unlock, I'll always remember when I finished this run, the sweet relief when the credits rolled, absolutely incredible
I finally beat hardcore on New Years Eve 2020. The end credit song made me feel like I conquered the game and the year. Also my tips to those looking to torture themselves would be prioritize the plasma cutter and contact beam mainly for its alt fire, learn to love TK to save ammo, and only save from chapter 6 onwards. Was able to do it in only 3 attempts with one of those coming from dying to the insta kill environment like an idiot😂
It took me about 4 and thats with the node glitch. My recommendation is to play on easy first. Then also remember the best way to kill most the enemies is to take out the 2 main arms. On almost all of them. Taking off the 2 main arms insta kills them. The small babies with tentacles onlie requires taking out 2 tentacles. And the scorpions with the tail, shoot the tail near the base and it insta dies. Also. You dont have to kill everything... not all the time atleast. Like when in the hub and your o2 is going down and your being rushed. You cant actually train the enemies until the CEC door opens. Also, the regenorator. You can skip half of him by out running him to a point where you have to destroy the fuses on the wall and in one of those sections is a giant fan. Let him walk up to you. With your back almost touching the fan, stasis him. Then run to the other side and contact beam his ass into the fan. May take a couple more tries but once done. He wont be around for the rest of the game.
@@GreyBlackWolf I’ll admit I tried to do the node glitch but only got one extra after trying to get it to work and messing it up and was like “fuck it if I can’t beat the game I can’t beat the game” lol
why oh why do people have to make the hard challenge even harder by focusing on hte worst weapon in the game is beyond me ... Line gun, Ripper, Contact beam ...
@@noahgilmore4837 i can tell you this. It fucking wasnt worth it. Fully upgraded weapons are nothing when they are empty. You are better off going with just a plasma cutter or it and 1 other gun and throwing nodes on those. Armor was nice but they still slice through you like butter. I mean you legit dont see much of an advantage. Its like showing up to a gun fight with a tank so they pull out an rpg and you start rethinking your life choices
Just got it this morning at 04:35am and I gotta say one of the most stressful things I ever did. Also I ended up dying at the drill part in chapter 12 by the drills I was heartbroken because up till that point I had actually achieved a deathless run.
@@Childofbhaal 1 week? Mf you played the game on normal, on Zealot and then Hardcore in 1 week? It's not just the fact that you did the 2 hardest modes in a week, BUT YOU DID THE GAME 3 TIMES. Not even my younger me with infinite time could beat this 3 times.
This is the hardest achievement i have ever seen in a videogame i have played. Haven't ever bothered to try it yet but this video inspired me to go play dead space 2 for the 30th or so time
Black Ops 3 has an achievement to beat the game on realistic. Not so bad until you realise that you die in one hit and every combat encounter involves at least 20 enemies and there's segments where cover isn't possible or movement in general.
When I played through hardcore to get the achievement, I can tell you now I suffered more than I have ever suffered before doing any other game challenge, it really is no joke, it makes you have to think about where you save, how you handle certain situations and fights, and really strategize on what you upgrade and how you use the resources given to you. All I can say is when I finally got the achievement I had never been more relieved.
I remembered attempting to get this achievement and it took me 2 months of sheer agony, rage, depression, and slowly giving up. But the way i beat this is that i only save after every five chapters because there are 15 chapters (obviously) in dead space 2. But as this guy said in the video "its not easy" the worse moment during my gameplay has to to be in chapter 10 which was reliving dead space 1 which is the ship "ishimura".
This achievement was the only one I was missing, I was always afraid of this achievement, for me it was something impossible. After watching this video I was inspired to try it, and just today I was able to get the achievement and pass the game, what leaves me satisfied apart from having achieved it, is that I didn't die even once! My heart was beating too hard throughout the entire game. Without a doubt, it is one of the achievements that gives you the most satisfaction.
Hey dude, usually don't comment, but as others have said. Excellent quality content and superb edits, to the point I assumed you were already stablished Subbed for sure
I know this is late but the best load out for a hardcore run in dead space 2 is plasma cutter(obviously) and the contact beam as contact beam fully upgraded will put enemies in stasis which is very useful for repositioning and the run in the finale
I have finished Dead Space 2 twice, on hardcore difficulty. This how i set my saves: For a weird reason the free chapter 7 save, didn´t worked for me so i decide to safe at chapter 7 first. Second safe at the beginning of chapter 10 (good old Ishimura) My third and final safe, i used at chapter 13 right before the eye poke machine.
One of the pretty minor but extremely frustrating parts of this game was when you grab stasis. You HAVE to stasis him, or you get INSTANTLY murdered. It's annoying that they force you to use a stasis or just die.
Think the original Dead Space was actually one of my first platinums on PS. The real misery for me was Mass Effect 2; that siege on hardcore was just hell, and the shockwave attack from the enemies does NOT obey cover rules properly lol; did manage platinum on all three ME games, though; totally worth it.
Random Comments Fun Fact No One Will Find: The guy who dies in the very beginning of your game, right in your face, was the protagonist of a lesser known Dead Space Presequel puzzle game that happens between the first and second dead space.
Yea hard-core was difficult for me I beat it when I was 13-14 (currently 16) and 100% dead space 2 all achievements and i only really played casual cuz i was scared of dying alot but soon i played zealot, Also great vid you earned a subscriber.
I wanted the foam finger when I was deep into dead space and I decided to not save before the drill section and my game bugged so none of the next area was loaded and I died to the guards. I ended up getting it but my god the torture Tip: watch a speedrun of the game to see the most optimal pathing and areas you can just run past
Been awhile since I've done it, but if memory serves the mine thrower, stasis, the contact beam R2... I can't remember exactly what I did but these items make the game much more manageable. R2 Contact Beam (can't remember if it needs upgraded to unlock) will stasis everything near you
I mean, once you play through the game a few times, it's really not that hard so long as you mind your spacing, use kenisis to return limbs to their owners USE STASIS, and remember where the big traps are at. Also, it's not hard to spot a nerco playing dead once you notice they're all lying in the same pose.
I did this in 2011 and the foam hand was worth it because there was no info out there that was a nice surprise, im pretty sure I did carry a second weapon because you could sell the ammo for good money, for example the contact beam ammo sells very well, with the extra money I was buying nodes or something like that.
Many moons ago back in high school when I was doing this achievement, I came up with the same save strategy. The only chapter that gave me any trouble was the Ishimura. I died several times on that one. Also, the leapers in this game are awful.
That means a lot, thank you!

Me too
The video quality is awesome

I don't know how you kept smiling through most of this. Patience of a saint.
Really good video too.
I also died there as well, was on the verge of a mental breakdown by that point hahah
Congrats on getting this. I remember doing it long time ago and enjoyed the challenge. The one that almost broke me was Mein Leben in Wolfenstein II. Beat the game on the hardest difficulty with zero checkpoints/saves in a single sitting, basically death results in starting a new game.
Throws a fire extinguisher
Calls it a fire hydrant.
Definitely the best out of the 3 dead space games because it really captured the "horror" essence

"Basketball is old and no one cares " I as a sports fan feel the exact same way.
Good luck! @Snamwiches
The fart is gold!😂
i laughed hard at the "Emergency meeting" :)
Figuring out the right savings point where challenging on my first hardcore was a nightmare!!!!

Honestly I 100% the achievements when it first came out. I didn’t thank any of the achievements were difficult really.
I always made it to 8 before my first save and just before the regenerator for my 3rd
Oh my god I would’ve lost my shit at 14:48 and took a break 😂😂
Believe it or not, besides the 3 saves hard core is actually set on survivalist difficulty instead of zealot.
Just IMAGINE how much more difficult it would have been if it was set on zealot difficulty
The fact that you did this without knowing you can use telekinesis to weaponize their necros body parts is what's most impressive to me. Its such an ammo saver.
This is the comment I was looking for dude killed me for not knowing this🤣
I'm honestly surprised he didn't know that. The second game basically forces you to use this mechanic at the start to kill like 5 necromorphs before getting the plasma cutter.

I died there on my run as well. Funny thing was I was like you I had never died there before and was baffled by what had transpired.
Its why I legitimately hate those post-final boss run segments so many games have. They're cool setpieces the first time, but after that they're kind of just annoying usually, and dying there kills the vibe.
That's nothing, I actually died on the last QTE. Spammed it like a mad man and STILL died for no reason

Thanks! Got a few in the chamber currently so hopefully I can put them out when they're nice and edited
It's great to see that alot of these are games I've also played and for the most part got the platinum trophies i remember the mental pain some of them caused lol
A HUGE lesson I learned on Impossible is NO STOMPING. Pukers are a guaranteed Death Trap if you attempt to stomp them to death. Stomp only for corpses
And don't shoot the exploders' pustules when they're getting too close. Specially in dead space 3 where they have very long explosion radius
I only stomp to pickup items. LOL
When I first ever played this game I was too scared to run up to the bodies to stomp them so I would kinesis the bodies to me and when you shoot the bodies back that alone will cause enough damage to drop the resources right in front of you so you can hard camp without having to worry about missing resources unless they're out of kinesis range
@@PrimeEvilTim Another wise tactic, my friend.
The fact that you went through this as seemingly a blind playthrough rather than something actually routed and planned is that much more outstanding
He went through this and its his first playthrough? I would never..

There was a guide I followed where you would save at some key moments, and one of them was, "Don't fail the eye scene"
I can appreciate that, as I used to be an achievement hunter in the 360 days, but it became too much like work, and I don't play games to put in 100 hour work weeks.

Adding in the Halo track during the final push section was fantastic. I must say I am very thankful the RUclips algorithm suggested this channel. Thus content is outstanding and right up my alley. Thank you for producing and editing all of this.

Turns out you can generate Power Nodes, Credits, and Semiconductors repeatedly by way of an items glitch in the first chapter, which is _not_ cheating given the fact that:
1. The prize item for Hard Core is the Hand Cannon, so the aforementioned exploit is effectively your reward in _advance_ and the challenge of limited saves, quick time events, mini games, etc. remain
2. The DLC Detonators do not require Credits to withdraw from the Store, so you could generate and sell Mines indefinitely just by unloading them before depositing back the Detonators (free of charge for PC users)
3. The developers had years to address this, but never did; Visceral approved these acts of defiance against EA or simply was not concerned, the satisfaction of the player matters the most either way and responding to necromorphs in kind after multiple defeats during Hard Core is a catharsis without equal
Yes same. I even put it on my resume for my new job as an Engineer here in SpaceX
Amen
I beat hardcore within one week of the games release
My scariest moments were the space flight sections, the last couple of rooms with the Ubermorph, and the final boss because Nicole insta kills you if you get too close. I used my saves about 1/3 of the way, 2/3 and one closer to the end right before the eye room. Very tense.
Dead Space 3 has unlimited saves but one life. Very tense.
Dead Space 3 is on my list and I am NOT looking forward to it LMAO
You can just save it in a pendrive lol
@@Snamwiches I did it recently on PC you can biff it pretty easy. When you are running low on health, ammo, or maybe in a bad situation you can quit go to a work bench in a test room then go back with more ammo and health.
Good luck with 3 my friend it gave me an embolism doing it
Good shit dude. Honestly envious because the deaths in this run were MISERABLE lol
Yeah the amount of joy you get when you finally beat it truly feels incredible!
Definitely. Did the run a servel times after my first win. I mainly use the ripper in my run.
Save 1 before the church/spider fight chapter 5
Save 2 chapter 11
Save 3 chapter 13
I remember back then I was playing so much DS2 prior to trying Hardcore mode. And somehow I was lucky enough to make it all the way to the second disc and make my first save in Chapter 9. I never felt more stressed out lmao
@@CoOlKyUbI96 I did the same. I didn't die until after my second save at the start of chapter 12
No saves a level or two back either so was left with no other option 😩
Got there in the end though and still one of my favourite games ever.
Dang, never heard about that one. Super happy that you were able to grab it in the end!
A couple of pro tips for people still trying to do this:
@@xxprototypexx5056 The FT was literally my least favorite weapon. It's the worst one (imo). No offense to you if you really like it though.

Sheeesh idk if I could do it with one death even after finishing this, congrats!

That's exactly what I did and also used mines. The two were a really good combo as long as you don't accidentally blow yourself up lol
It's the best weapon for the boss fight too. You can one shot the marker after you shoot fake Nicole the first time.
i'm not usually big on channels like this, but you have a good screen presence and (most importantly) you don't interrupt yourself every 10 seconds. The editing is well done, the jokes were solid and cheesy, and nothing overstayed its welcome.

FEAR was scary as fuck.. for some reason this game an FEAR remind me of Doom...
The glass scene with the exploder got me too. Even if you close the airlock in time, he'll be waiting to splatter you.
Thank you! Hoping the next one will be even better!
This was super nostalgic for me, did this achievement back in high school with a good friend. The final run at the end was super intense, and i remember dumping all my upgrades into the pulse rifle and buying as much ammo for is as possible
Prove it. Show me proof
@@RIPToNateDoggIHadToRegulate It's not as hard as you think, especially if you've completed the game multiple times before attempting it.
This was probably one of my favorite achievements to unlock, it was me and a couple friends watching each stressful moment and figuring out when the best time to save, it was a blast to unlock, I'll always remember when I finished this run, the sweet relief when the credits rolled, absolutely incredible
Does anyone know if the disc swap checkpoint at the beginning of chapter 7 is still on the digital version for the Series X?
It is, that’s what I did this on :)
@@Snamwiches Thanks man! awesome job on the video and would love to see you tackle hardcore mode on dead space 3 next!
I remember trying this achievement on XBOX 360. my first save was at chapter 7, but when I finally got there, my XBOX got the 3RL, was 😭
I'm actually surprised at how many people think Dead Space 2 hardcore is harder than Dead Space 3.
I love these 2 games, I think if someone loves a game, there willing to get every achievement in it.
the 1 achievement that’s always haunted me… bc I can’t get passed the eyeball stage lmao
That is imo, the hardest part of Dead Space 2. It never fails to make my palms sweat lol
I played the hell out of this mode when I was like, 12. It took months to get it right and finish it in one run.
@@Asghaad Hte???
@@noahgilmore4837 i can tell you this.
It fucking wasnt worth it. Fully upgraded weapons are nothing when they are empty. You are better off going with just a plasma cutter or it and 1 other gun and throwing nodes on those. Armor was nice but they still slice through you like butter. I mean you legit dont see much of an advantage.
Its like showing up to a gun fight with a tank so they pull out an rpg and you start rethinking your life choices
I remember One-Sessioning this challenge way back in the day. It was so much fun.
You must be the best gamer ever then
You just gave me some serious PTSD about this achievement. You just earned a subscribe from me, mate :)
I'll have it too now so don't worry haha
Why you acting like you never seen the jumpscares and bosses before bro? 🤣🤣
Dude that “WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH OUT” edit is fucking pure comedy gold
Just got it this morning at 04:35am and I gotta say one of the most stressful things I ever did. Also I ended up dying at the drill part in chapter 12 by the drills I was heartbroken because up till that point I had actually achieved a deathless run.
Congrats 🎉 I beat hardcore mode the first week of this games release. It was so intense
@@Cerise__ Yeahhhh idk how I did it! I was in high school at the time and just really loved the Dead Space games and played completely non stop
This is the hardest achievement i have ever seen in a videogame i have played. Haven't ever bothered to try it yet but this video inspired me to go play dead space 2 for the 30th or so time
Heck yeah dude good luck!
Black Ops 3 has an achievement to beat the game on realistic. Not so bad until you realise that you die in one hit and every combat encounter involves at least 20 enemies and there's segments where cover isn't possible or movement in general.
I did it, I got this a achievement a couple of days ago. I felt so happy.
LETS GOOOO congrats!
Dahm i remember when i get that platinum trophy after that i had nightmares...
You now unlocked the foam finger. It’s the ultimate weapon
True af, it really is buttclenching
Would your butt clench hard enough to break an apple in half? Genuine question.
@@RIPToNateDoggIHadToRegulate tf?
You just made me re-experience the big trauma that was this achievement... I'm subbing
Absolutely love this run, gained a sub! Great editing!
That was one of the greatest achievements I was proud of.
This achievement was literal hell to complete. But hot damn that foam finger weapon was beyond worth it!!!!
Excellent quality content and superb edits, to the point I assumed you were already stablished
Subbed for sure
I know this is late but the best load out for a hardcore run in dead space 2 is plasma cutter(obviously) and the contact beam as contact beam fully upgraded will put enemies in stasis which is very useful for repositioning and the run in the finale
I have finished Dead Space 2 twice, on hardcore difficulty.
This how i set my saves:
For a weird reason the free chapter 7 save, didn´t worked for me so i decide to safe at chapter 7 first.
Second safe at the beginning of chapter 10 (good old Ishimura)
My third and final safe, i used at chapter 13 right before the eye poke machine.
Thank you for your content. I really like how much you fight to keep positive during actually challenging stuff
Random Comments Fun Fact No One Will Find:
The guy who dies in the very beginning of your game, right in your face, was the protagonist of a lesser known Dead Space Presequel puzzle game that happens between the first and second dead space.
I ended up getting it but my god the torture
Tip: watch a speedrun of the game to see the most optimal pathing and areas you can just run past
Been awhile since I've done it, but if memory serves the mine thrower, stasis, the contact beam R2... I can't remember exactly what I did but these items make the game much more manageable.
R2 Contact Beam (can't remember if it needs upgraded to unlock) will stasis everything near you
You definitely should have used the buffed dlc weapons, they help a lot.
