I really hope Gerald is doing okay through the recent events. I can't imagine keeping paying rent on a closed studio through the pandemic is going to be good for Core-A financially.
In US and Canada the loan agencies are allowing land owners to defer payments to the end of their contract term. Maybe Korea will too? It doesnt make the rent free, they still need to pay it, just later
My favorite video is "Analysis: Why Button Mashing Doesn't Work" because it is pretty much a glossary on fighting game terms/theory. It's a great video to show friends who don't understand why you enjoy fighting games.
For someone who knew the terms, but could never internalize them, that was the video that finally helped me to understand those things, and every time I think of the terms, I always remember the examples he gave. I learned more in that one video than in dozens of hours of researching how to play.
I love how the community stepped up, myself included, and made subtitles in so many languages for that video. My favorite piece too, probably. I also love the baseball FADC scene though haha.
@@Lewdology bruh i wish i could do that Spend some bars of energy but everything i do is safe and doesnt have recovery lol Itd actually make someone a godly professional fighter irl
My favorite Core-A Gaming video is the one about a need for community. Favorite content creators are Mighty Keef, Core-A Gaming, Sajam, and this channel.
Gerald is awesome, hes done so much for the FGC with his videos. He definitely big impact on me getting back into FGs and looking at them differently, he brings a depth to not just FG's but VG's as a whole. We need more ppl like Gerald in the FGC! Keep it growing!
Sajam's Match Analysis and streams are fun and very informational. Knew almost nothing about UNIST, but now I can watch top 8's and know the flow of the game thanks to Sajam's videos. My favorite Core-A Gaming video is definitely Why Fighting Games Are Hard
I think Core-A’s video on Button Mashing was an excellent semi crash course on some of the basics and fundamentals of fighting game play seen in every FG. In a way got me to understand more about mind games and tactics to help do much better. The video is also just really good for any Newbir to watch, and you might aswell watch it.
My favorite is him explains about why players are salty and generally is a basic mental breakdown and a bit of psychology. It gave me some insight of how to make someone salty without trying ;)
Favorite Core-A video? That's hard. The one about performance enhancing substances in pro gaming was eye-opening for me, as it was a subject I'd never heard addressed before. Gerald does such a great job of presenting concepts in a researched but never dry way. The one about esports villains and then his interviews with women in the Tekken community stand out too.
I'm very happy this exists. Core-A Gaming and Gerald produce some of the best content ever and I whole heartedly believe he's a big help towards the FGC. He and his team is the literal definition of quality>quantity (shout out to Lemmino as well). Praying for all of them during these trying times.
How sweet, a Hold Back to Block video about Core-A Gaming, my two dearest FGC channels ever. This is so good. I found about CAG a few years ago, before HBtB, and it became an instant favorite. HBtB was kind of the same way, but more recently, so this is a dream match in FGC RUclips territory. Awesome video guys. I have so much respect for people like Gerald, who get up of their chair and actually do shit. He deserves all the best, and I hope CAG continues to prosper for many years to come.
I've got kind of a similar story to Gerald, filmmaking with friends in college, a big interest in the FGC and Esports, plans to pool resources after school was done. Things didn't pan out well, but it's nice to see a story like this succeed and go on. Been a big Core-A fan from the start, now I know why it takes so long for him to make a damn video!
My favorites right now are Core A Gaming, and Mighty Keef. The contrast is quite drastic, but it's good to have all kinds of content for the fgc. Comedic skits can be as good for morale as in depth analysis.
got dayum this is great content! Gerald's work is inspiring and shows his love for fighting games. much respect to this channel and him. GLHF and stay safe!
Good content on making good content. Goodcontentception. I don't even play fighting games, but watching and learning about the FGC is really fascinating. Keep up the good work.
What's your favorite Core-A Gaming video? Do you have a favorite content creator in the FGC that you'd like to see featured on the channel? Let us know and thanks for watching!
Sajam and Corea are great, but I think Rooflemonger deserves some love as well. When it comes to Dragonball and lesser main-stream games, he is the guy I go to learn how to play, and his lessons are always very thorough. I would never have learned how to play the likes of Dragonball without him. Heck, it was thanks to him that I finally grasped things like the iger knee motion that I struggled with in other games.
I already knew about fighting games and played them a bit before watching Core-A Gaming, but afyer I watched him, I got so interestend in fighting games. Because of him and Brian_F I've started plying Street Fighter V.
Gerald already has the look, he will be an OG in time, and look like that old kung fu master from kill bill that everyone will respect even if hes not the best fighter in the world.
His explanation of our evaluation of 'proper' length as primarily a function of quality (Edited properly) as opposed to quantity (Pure duration) is some damn good shit.

@@cenizen in the actual Video from core a gaming he says that it's him. He is playing the sweeps and throws game to teach his friend about the basics of street fighter
Does the name Core-A Gaming came from Korea Gaming? Just because or maybe Gerald Lee is Korean American and who is now mainly operating in Korea. Just my theory though. Wonder why the presenter didn't ask that?
Hey dude, I just did like 20 min of research trying to find it with no results. It looks like an ArcSystemWorks style game with the anime cellshaded aesthetic but a 3D graphics engine. It's not guilty Gear or Under night or melty blood or BlazBlue. I cannot find it, please let me know if you ever do
