I bought the AutoTune yesterday... it came with "Autotune Real-Time" (white one) & "Autotune Real-Time Advanced" (black one)... it didn't come with "AutoTune Access" however. All good. Happy with what I got.

The Api 560 is my fave plugin to pretty much everything. I use it on my Masterbuss and on my leadvocal. The highs are sharp without being harsh and the low end is just fat without being muddy. Discover it guys.

The Distressor is prob my number 1 must have, its such a great versatile plugin.
I also HIGHLY recommend the api channel if youre working with dynamic mics and wanna get some loud in your face stuff goin on.

@Reid Stefan thanks for the video! Hey I think the way you have the de-esser set at 10:1 bypasses the sidechain de-esser and turns it into a 10:1 full band limiter.

The Manley Massive Passive EQ sounds so good when mastering when you boost around 12K. Super clean/smooth top end boost. What do you use to boost the top end on your tracks when mastering?
I like The UAD Pultec EQP1A boosting 12k high end and 60hz sub in mastering
Great video man. Inflater and maag eq can be bought for around $30-39 and even cheaper with coupons. So I wouldn't get those 2 from uad.

Hey Reid. You are saying everything but the Kick and Sub get send to the Distressor in parallel. Right after you are saying the Kick, Synth and Vocal get send there. I'm quite confused and would really like to know. Thanks a lot!

I thing also the easy way to go about this for people is , to ask our selfs what do i need ? but if you don't know the answered to that then maybe is better to learn what you have ? and then after you do you will be ok I need this and this is why I think I do ...... maybe I'm wrong . but in my experience I realize I spend so much money on plugins I really don't need

There's nothing better than a head bopping puppet - unless of course it is a jelly fish lava lamp. Seriously, loved the video. My favorite UAD of late is the Capitol Compressor - I am in love with the saturation button on my master buss.

cool idea with the parallel subs sends to a bus (but no kick synths or vox) with the distressor! I will try that! Thanks! :)). I hear that famous mix engineers do that kinda thing (but prob the whole mix parallel) to like 2 LA2a' and distressors (Micheal Brauer on some bus) Cool man :)) Got me thinking about I.T.B routing in studio one :)
I have an 1176 on a parallel bus on every mix. The all buttons in setting is too good for adding oomph. Aka the New York compression trick

I literally replaced the veq with a uad pultec in my mix and omg the sound was amazing.
The Pultec Eq is incredible. I'll put it on tracks without any attenuation just for the sound it gives. Theres butter in that jar
Question: for the Tape plugin, you said to use "on the bass and drums", later you said to use it "for the low end"....Is the best application just kick and bass? (not a full drum and bass buss). TY!

Hello! what is the function of the button with a microphone symbol in Uad plugins?
Thanks for the tip, great video. I just added the oxide tape to the master channel and it sounds great, but the side effect is that it boost the highs and lows too much, is there a way to somehow fix this?
I personally like to put these on at the start of the mix so that I can mix to the sound. If you put it on at the end it can potentially throw off the balance but if you put it on at the start you can balance it as you go.
Thats just my personal advice ;)

The craziest part of the Oxford inflator is it’s one of the most simple plugins, its just a saturation plugin

One question, I got the Apollo Twin X Quad and in UAD Console I only got 4 effect insert slots + 1 preAmp slot.
You got 8 effect insert slots in Console. Do you have more slots because you are also using a sattelite or x6/x8/ or x16?

Each Insert should have 8 slots for effects, 3 slots for sends, and 1 slot for a Unison plugin. You get more inserts depending on the interface since each insert is set up for the inputs you have on your interface.
@OneLove okay, I was definitely wrong about the interface. From looking back at the video, the only way to get 8 inserts on UAD Console is by using it with the LUNA recording system.

So i just got a manley ref C mic alongside with a neve 1073lb 500 pre amp .. that connects to my apollo any suggestions on what to add into my uad vocal chain to finish off the vocal sound ?
I don’t use any UAD unison plugins In my vocals during recording. I do use them later in my mixdown tho. UAD Autotune, LA-2A, EMT250 reverb, MAAG EQ

It’s the highest quality I can choose. 96k my long plugin chains become impossible due Cpu overload
If you had too pick 2 out of distessor , api Channel strip or 1b mk11 please respond before the sale over RNB and rap vocals
Api channel strip has the most features in 1 plugin if you're choosing 1, i'd suggest API Channel STrip's the most useful to get started.

on topic of the UA Autotune when I had initially bought the Autotune the Access was available, but it is now showing that I don't have an authorization for it after many frustrating calls I was told that it was never included and was only offered as a promo product and I told them yeah I know I had been using it and now I cannot U A was on some B.S with the Autotune...smh
Inflator is basically a wave shaper under the hood

component starts with a pre, ( 610B, manly reference pre, or V76 ), then a De-Esser ( dynamic EQ, or sonnex oxford ) , i wouldn't use a FET compressor on vocals myself, so out with the 1176, and in with the la-2a, tube-tec, tla 100a, or vsc-2, followed by la-3a limiter and eq....if you need an auto tune, stop singing.
Make sure you have your First-Aid kit close to you, in case you hit your head on the desk. lolll

install the latest version of UAD software from their website uaudio.com
Do you need Apollo for these to work?
Satellite box or Apollo can run these plugins. Apollo is the only hardware that can run the console app tho

Yes Elastique Pitch has always been very expensive. Historically, It used to be the only good plugin for that modern “pitch & formant bending” effect, before Little Alterboy & Waves VocalBender offered the same functions for way less money.
the elastique pitch got a better algorithm and changes the pitch and formant much more naturally than other plugins, but it actually costs too much, I keep the waves pitch shifter that sounds similar

When I Use the oxford inflator plugin, my track does actually get louder. Any ideas? All I am doing is putting the effect button up to 100

plugin alliance is an amazing alternative for people who want something similar UAD, but without the hardware Apollo or Satellite required

All musicians listen up. STOP supporting plugin subscription companies! They don’t have your back! You are renting! Not owning! Most importantly if they all have their way you will be adding 5 to 10 or more monthly bills! On top of most important life’s bills!!!! All these companies end game is wanting this including digital distribution companies now. You will go thru life within more bills than you ever imagined! Because you didn’t fight back the greedy system! And own NOTHING! STAND UP! SPREAD THE WORD!!
The best puppet in the game and I'd learned TONS from this channel, but why are you automating the fader levels. You're gonna be so frustrated later when you can't adjust your faders in mixing. Utility automation solves that!
One the biggest problem with UAD plugins are they slow down the process of bouncing.
It is ok if you bounce the full song but my job requires me to bounce stems so on average UAD plugins add extra 10 min per song which makes them useless in my case.
What DAW are you using? I’ve never noticed slower bouncing with UAD plugins before

Of course it will be slower.
It needs to be processed outside and come back to logic.
If you use native plugins inside logic bounce will be 2-3 times faster.
You can even test this yourself.
Bounce one time with uad and the other time change them to native plugins version of the identical plugins and you will see.
