They previously served the Jubilee and Northern lines before they transferred to the Bakerloo Line where they still faithfully serve today. Like it's mk1 cousin, the mk2 was crew operated trains before being converted to driver only working and taking over from the 1959 stock that was serving at the time. The 1959 stock was allocated to operate on the Bakerloo Line but later in the 1980s, it wanted to switch to one person operation and rather than build new trains, they requested for 1967 and 1972mk1's cousin, 1972mk2 stock which had been converted to driver only working which was still on the Jubilee and Northern lines. One 1959 tube stock was then sent back to the Northern line as one 1972mk2 took over.
When I was kid we had red Bakerloo trains, slam door trains EMUs, the B1 to Euston/ Watford and the B2 Broad Street/ Watford. The semi fast trains were also slam doors but could switch from overhead to third rail and the fast trains were diesel pulled carriages and later DMUs, but not as fast as modern ones. I have lived in the Wembley area since 1961, but I only once saw a steam train when I was about three, but I do remember diesel shutters. Before 1979 the Bakerloo trains went to Watford Junction sometimes. The platform they used there is now overgrown, abandon and the rails have been ripped up.
I remember when I was at Wembley on the tube and I thought the train sparking was really odd (I’m from Leeds where most train lines are diesel so we don’t really see many trains sparking).
I really miss you wembley 😢😢😢😢😢 and i miss you my school I loved wembley but now am I'm Dudley but some times I go to my friends and take the express trains: fast train and slow train I love you wembley 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
