Ok bit of a strange one this, but I was at my friends flat at the weekend and he told me he’d watched the film Utd, he showed me some clips ect which jogged a memory of mine that my grandfather told me (it’s very vague as I was around 8 yrs old) but he told me that a relation was involved with Manchester Utd possibly a coach around the time of the crash.
My grandfather was from the Rhonda valley, so I gave my mother a call and she said that the relation was called Jimmy Murphy (who also was from the same area)
Turns out it’s my grandfathers first cousin.
All these years of being a football fan and I had no idea! 🤷♂️
That is actually incredible. I love reading these little stories. Ancestry is great for finding these things out as well 🙌🙌
