    at 27:00, the starting date of the Constituent Assembly of India is 9th December 1946 instead of mistakingly mentioned as 6th December 1946.

    The road to freedom was no doubt long and hard - but after 75 years, complacency may have set in among many of us, making us forget. But not in case of Akhilesh Jha. He took us, nay, carried us on this musical, emotional 75 week long journey, and made us remember those heady days of the struggle for freedom, the search for a consolidated national identity, the immense role played by music in this, and the historical records it left behind in the form of gramophone records. We felt his pride and his pain, and are going to miss this intense weekly connect with Akhilesh and Rashmita over this channel.
    Being a true Democrat, he has given us the facts that speak (and sing) for themselves - of the tainted history of one song, and the deliberate sidelining of the other, without himself telling what he wants us - we the nation - to do. Should there be a public campaign to correct this historical wrong? I for one am convinced- Lead the way Akhilesh.

    Dear Sir,
    Firstly I would like to congratulate you for making a series on the history through Gramophone records. You took lt of efforts in gathering and sharing the information. Congratulations.
    I would like to mention here that in praise of Vande Mataram which most of the Indians like ( most of them dont know the meaning). But the criticism on Nehru ji and calling him non democratic can not be acceptable. I personally like Vanndemataram as a poem which is in praise of the motherland. The entire poem is about the praise of the motherland. I have heard several versions of Vande Mataram the most dramatic one was by Pandit Omkarnath Thakur. Me and my wife like to collect and listen to many versions of Vande Mataram
    Our current anthem is not a just a praise of the Bharat but also we the citizens of Bharat, which is not in Vande Mataram. You may not agree. As Pandit Nehru said Bharatmata is the citizens of this country called Bharat be cause they have built this nation. And this nation has great rivers, mountains and fertile land which was always there before it became a nation. But the nation is built by the people of the nation therefore Bharatmata is we all the citizen of India.

      Namaskar Sudhanshuji! Thanks for your words of appreciation. As far as the comment on Pt. Nehru is concerned, it is neither casual, nor driven by any agenda. All 75 episodes of Azadinama have been crafted with sincerity and with highest degree of respect to facts. Some comments might hurt our emotions, but those are based on facts. You may refer to a book co-authored by Akhilesh Jha with Rashmita Jha titled- 'Vande Mataram: In the House on the Records". This book might be able to clear some doubts that you might be having on the premises of generic understanding of both the songs- Vande Mataram and Jan-Gana-Mana. I must also assure you that the whole team of Ce-Grams and Gunijankhana has highest respect for Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. We have done many episodes on him based on gramophone records. You and your wife are also most welcome to the Ce-Grams sessions where gramophone records are played and the content is discussed. And, we have almost all the version of Vande Mataram in our archives that you may like to access to. Thank you once again for your comments. Looking forward to your further engagement on this topic and on our channel.

    An apt conclusion of a historic series! 'Azadinama' will be an important and authentic source of information for the students of history and go a long way in clearing the mist surrounding the evolution of our national anthem.

    Vijay Lakshami Pandit being manipulator Nehru's sister, is it not likely, dictator Nehru asked his sister to write praise of Jan Gan Man in Hotel Waldorf Astoria to convince parliamentarians not to consider suggestion by Dr BC Roy?

    Why every speaker addresses traitor Nehru with ji?

    • @shreyasijha3382
      @shreyasijha3382 2 года назад +5

      It is very easy to call anyone a traitor in a time so turbulent. We were clouded by a newly developing nuclear world, the World Wars and the issues that come up with an emerging decolonising nation state. The decisions were extremely taxing and difficult. Respect is a virtue that must never be lost no matter what the circumstance is. It is very convenient for us to disrespect and scrutinise someone’s life and decisions, especially someone at a position alike Pt. Nehru. Fact remains he was a learned man and the first Prime Minister of the Republic of India. He made mistakes like any other political leader of India and the world so the usage of the word traitor is extremely disrespectful and in bad taste.

    • @shreyasijha3382
      @shreyasijha3382 2 года назад +6

      We have used this platform to shed light upon these lesser known problems and not unnecessary provocation, especially in times so turbulent and divided as present. This is an effort to establish harmony and understand a very painful chapter in the history of India. We have constructively critiqued his decisions, but accusing and using the word traitor is unnecessary here. You are free to continue with your critique but that is not our agenda.

      मेरी समझ है कि किसी भी व्यक्ति और विषय को एकांगी रूप से नहीं देखना चाहिए … समग्रता से समझना ज़रूरी है …
      नेहरू जी की नवजात आधुनिक भारत के प्रति अन्य उपलब्धियाँ ,उपनिवेशोत्तर काल में नकारी नहीं जा सकती हैं … समझ या उसके कार्यान्वयन में गलती हो जाती है …

      यह ऐतिहासिक गलती तो अब भी सुधारी जा सकती है …
      बुनियादी दौर में जब मुद्दे अन्तहीन होते हैं और उनका इतिहास और भविष्य स्पष्ट नहीं होते हैं तो समझ में ग़लतियों की सम्भावना बहुत होती है …
      शब्दकोश में सुधार शब्द का स्थान उद्देश्यपूर्ण हैं ।
